On this day, the Jing family manor delivered many sets of formal wear, instantly filling the entire room with an air of luxury.
Chu Wuyang was stunned for a moment, and then vaguely remembered what Jing Min had mentioned earlier.
As the year draws to a close, the Jing Family Manor will be holding its anniversary celebration.
And she will make her first public appearance at this grand event.
While it's described as open to the public, it's not entirely true; those who receive invitations are mostly partners and senior company executives.
One by one, exquisite and gorgeous dresses, almost extravagant, were carried in by servants in twos and threes, their expressions solemn.
Their movements were extremely careful, as if they were carrying a priceless treasure, but in Chu Wuyang's eyes, it was no different from carrying an ominous box.
She didn't even need to open them to look; she knew perfectly well that Jingmin had carefully selected these dresses before sending them over.
Thinking of this, Chu Wuyang instantly lost interest.
She casually tossed the dress catalog aside, patted her skirt, and stood up to leave.
Jing Min grabbed her hand and asked, somewhat bewildered:
"What's wrong? You were fine just now. Don't you like any of these dresses?"
Chu Wuyang forced a smile, but the smile didn't reach his eyes.
She gently pulled her hand away from Jingmin's, her gaze drifting indifferently elsewhere, her voice carrying a barely perceptible hint of perfunctoriness:
"It's up to you!"
Jingmin glanced at the rows of neatly arranged, exquisite dresses.
"I knew you didn't like trouble, so these are all pre-selected. Take a look and pick a few that you like to keep."
Chu Wuyang glanced at them indifferently, thinking to herself that these styles were all pretty much the same in her eyes.
Although they are all different in style, each piece exudes a strong sense of conservatism, which is out of place for someone her age.
Seemingly seeing through Chu Wuyang's thoughts, Jing Min cleared his throat and explained:
"Most of the business partners who are coming are older, and they will bring their wives, so they should be more dignified."
As Chu Wuyang listened to his words, her interest waned even more.
He casually raised his hand and pointed to a few sets, saying in a languid tone:
"Really? Then these few sets will do! They're all fine with me anyway."
Jingmin's gaze followed the direction of her finger, and when he saw one of the low-cut dresses,
He couldn't help but frown, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes, as he secretly pondered that he didn't remember choosing this item.
Just as he was about to say something, he noticed a clear look of displeasure on Chu Wuyang's face.
Jingmin swallowed back the words that were on the tip of his tongue.
She then comforted herself: Anyway, she has several outfits, and she might not even wear this one that night.
Thinking this, Jingmin nodded slightly to the staff member waiting nearby.
His expression regained some composure.
Seeing this, the staff understood and quietly filed out.
After all the staff left,
Chu Wuyang felt annoyed.
She slightly rose, intending to leave.
However, Jingmin held her hand tightly, refusing to let go even for a moment.
"Have you been bored at home lately? No one to go horseback riding with?"
Jing Min tilted his head slightly, his gaze fixed on Chu Wuyang.
Chu Wuyang gently shook her head, her long black hair swaying slightly with her movement.
Jing Min seemed to suddenly remember something important, raised an eyebrow slightly, and asked:
"Oh, by the way, I've already had Yun Yang's name added to the invitation list."
Upon hearing this, Chu Wuyang's eyes flickered, and she looked directly at Jing Min.
Seeing this, Jingmin chuckled softly.
He reached out and gently stroked Chu Wuyang's pert nose, saying affectionately:
"What, have you forgotten what you said?"
He patiently reminded him:
"You said you were going to invite her before,"
Chu Wuyang's eyelashes trembled slightly a few times.
She lowered her eyes, her long, curled eyelashes casting a shadow on her eyelids, and murmured softly:
"Really? I... I really forgot. I didn't expect you to remember."
But she was secretly pondering to herself,
How could I possibly forget?
I just didn't expect Jing Min to take such a small matter so seriously, let alone the fact that it involved Yun Yang.
Jing Min leaned forward slightly, gently pulling Chu Wuyang into his arms.
His deep voice echoed slowly in Chu Wuyang's ears.
“I remember, I remember every single word you said…”
The warm breath sprayed on Chu Wuyang's ear, but it made her heart grow colder.
She refused Yun Yang that day because she was worried that if Jing Min wasn't really interested, it might backfire.
Now it seems that it wasn't that they weren't paying attention, but rather that they were unaware of what they were truly concerned about.
Her expression grew increasingly indifferent; it was indeed worth the risk.
After Jingmin left, she dialed Yunyang's number.
"Hello?"
Yun Yang was somewhat surprised to receive the call, her voice tinged with doubt.
Chu Wuyang was silent for a moment, then said softly:
"I've changed my mind and I'm willing to cooperate with what you said before."
Her voice sounded somewhat tired, yet also carried a hint of determination.
Yun Yang was visibly taken aback, unconsciously closing the magazine in her hand, sitting up straight, her eyes filled with surprise and delight:
"Weren't you unwilling? Why did you suddenly change your attitude? Did he do something to disappoint you?"
Yun Yang's tone carried a hint of inquiry.
Chu Wuyang gripped the phone tightly on the other end of the line.
She seemed unwilling to elaborate on Yunyang's question, her voice remaining indifferent.
