Jingmin walked into the restaurant, buttoning his suit jacket as he went, his eyes glazed over.
His face was full of fatigue, clearly indicating that he hadn't slept well last night.
But the slight upturn of his lips and the relaxed expression on his eyebrows clearly revealed his inner joy.
Seeing that Chu Wuyang was already sitting there quietly,
Jingmin paused in his tracks.
A hint of curiosity flashed in his eyes.
"Why are you up so early today?"
“Normally, even after I've begged you three or four times, you still wouldn't have time to have breakfast with me,”
"Is the sun rising in the west today?"
His voice carried a hint of languor, with a slight upward inflection at the end, conveying a strong sense of teasing.
Chu Wuyang seemed not to hear, her expression indifferent as she slowly stirred her coffee with a spoon in her slender fingers.
The coffee swirled in the cup, creating ripples that mirrored her seemingly calm yet turbulent heart.
After a long while, she finally raised her eyes, her gaze cool and aloof as she looked at Jing Min, her lips parting slightly:
"It's impossible for the sun to rise in the west, but didn't you notice that the sun rose from its zenith today?"
Her voice wasn't loud, but every word was clear.
Jing Min was slightly taken aback.
The napkin he was about to put down paused, and a look of suspicion spread across his eyes.
He turned to look at Chu Wuyang across from him, carefully studying her expression.
Then, her gaze swept over Aunt Rong, who was still setting out the dishes, her eyes filled with inquiry.
Aunt Rong looked out the window, a smile playing on her lips, and said softly:
"Young master, look, the sun is already high in the sky outside."
“You usually get up around this time, young lady. You got up late today.”
Her tone was respectful and gentle, but there was a hint of mischief in her eyes.
Jingmin followed Aunt Rong's gaze to the window; the sunlight was a bit dazzling.
He squinted subconsciously before realizing what was happening.
He took his phone out of his pocket, the screen lit up, and the words "10 a.m." were clearly visible.
Seeing that the phone was muted, he quickly swiped the screen to check the call log, finding no important missed calls or messages.
As he put his phone away, a hint of embarrassment flashed across his face.
He raised his hand and twisted his somewhat stiff neck, then cleared his throat and said, feigning composure:
"I don't know why, but I slept too soundly last night, and my head still feels dizzy."
His eyes were somewhat unfocused.
Chu Wuyang remained silent with her head down.
Her thick, long eyelashes, like the fluttering wings of a butterfly, cast a small shadow on her fair cheeks.
It's impossible to tell what her emotions are at that moment.
Jing Min seemed to suddenly remember something, and turned to the maid beside him, instructing her:
"Have someone send over a new bed in a bit, the same style as the old one will do."
His tone was indifferent, revealing no particular emotion.
Chu Wuyang's hand, which was under the table, suddenly tightened.
His fingers gripped the spoon so tightly that his knuckles turned white from the force.
The servants quietly withdrew.
The restaurant fell silent instantly.
Only the faint sound of the spoon and chopsticks colliding with the utensils remained, sounding exceptionally clear in the quiet space.
The two finished their breakfast in silence. Jingmin got up, picked up his long coat, and strode towards Chu Wuyang.
Chu Wuyang sensed his approach and instinctively took a step back, a flash of disgust in her eyes.
Jing Min's eyes darkened, a sinister glint flashing across them.
But in the blink of an eye, he acted as if nothing had happened, and a light smile returned to his face.
He reached out his hand, and without a word, the moment Chu Wuyang turned her face away...
Pinch her chin,
He turned her face towards him, then leaned forward and kissed her forcefully.
The kiss ended.
Jing Min gently stroked Chu Wuyang's hair, his fingers running through her soft strands, and with a slight pull, he drew her closer to him.
He leaned close to her ear, his warm breath brushing against it, and whispered with a chuckle:
"Women are so fickle! Last night they were so passionate, but today they're as cold as ice."
His voice was deep and magnetic, with a hint of playfulness.
Chu Wuyang's pupils suddenly contracted.
Slowly, she turned her head and met Jing Min's unreadable eyes.
In an instant, his face turned ashen white, as if all the color had drained from his face at that moment.
Jing Min chuckled twice at her reaction, a hint of mockery and satisfaction in his voice.
He lowered his head again and gently kissed her forehead, his tone tinged with a hint of doting affection and teasing:
"Alright, I know you're shy, I won't tease you anymore."
"When the bed is brought over, don't go in to look at it. Otherwise, with so many people around, you'll lose face."
Chu Wuyang stared blankly ahead, then nodded woodenly.
Jingmin kissed her forehead again.
He cupped her face in his hands and studied her for a moment.
A hint of reluctance flashed in her eyes as she softly said:
"Okay, I'm going to work now."
After saying that, he let go of her hand, turned around and strode away without the slightest hesitation.
However, the instant he turned around,
The smile on his face vanished instantly.
Instead, there was a chilling indifference.
