Yang Jin looked up at the sound, her eyes narrowing slightly as she looked at the person who had entered.
In the dim light, his eyes carried a clear warning.
"Xing Ci?"
He uttered those two words in a low voice, his tone restrained and indifferent.
Upon hearing his name, the man opposite him paused for a moment, then smiled with a hint of ingratiation.
"Hey! It's me. What a coincidence, brother-in-law, you're here too?"
Yang Jinchu's face darkened instantly, and he rebuked:
"What are you yelling about?"
"Your real brother-in-law would probably kill someone if he heard that."
As he spoke, he glanced down at Chu Wuyang, who was leaning on his shoulder, drunk and barely conscious.
The man followed his gaze and looked at Chu Wuyang, who was slumped on the sofa.
He sighed softly.
He shook his head, adopting a look of "disappointment and disappointment":
"You're such a grown man, how come you don't know how to take care of yourself? You don't even bring anyone with you when you go out drinking."
Yang Jinchu helped Chu Wuyang up, making sure she had a steady support.
He glanced again at Ye Yuhe, who was equally drunk beside him, and his tone revealed a hint of helplessness:
"I did bring someone... but I brought someone who was just as unreliable."
The man leaned closer to take a look, then couldn't help but click his tongue twice, remarking:
"That's really unreliable. If it weren't for me, those two would have been..."
Before he could finish speaking, Yang Jinchu frowned slightly and interrupted him impatiently:
"Still talking?"
The man shut up, shrank back, and added awkwardly in a low voice:
"...It was picked up."
Yang Jinchu's expression darkened slightly, his tone ambiguous:
"No, I've been keeping an eye on it the whole time."
The man suddenly looked up, surprised:
"Huh? You've been here all along? Then how did you end up here?"
Yang Jinchu avoided the topic and asked casually:
"When did you get back? What are you doing back?"
The man's expression instantly changed, his gaze sweeping warily around him as he lowered his voice and said:
"Of course I'm coming back to cause trouble."
Yang Jinchu remained silent for a moment, then finally sighed softly and instructed:
"Contact me if needed."
The man's expression relaxed slightly.
I originally wanted to pat Yang Jinchu on the shoulder,
He easily dodged it.
The man stopped what he was doing, clenched his fist which had been frozen in mid-air, and instead of feeling embarrassed, he smiled familiarly:
"Don't worry, brother-in-law!"
The last syllable of his voice had barely faded when he met Yang Jinchu's warning gaze.
He immediately changed his tune:
"Okay! Brother Jin Chu."
He seemed to remember something, and suddenly raised an eyebrow and said:
"Oh, right, brother, I changed my name. Don't call me Xingci anymore... call me Jinxian."
As soon as he finished speaking, Chu Wuyang, who had been quietly sprawled on the sofa, suddenly shouted excitedly:
"Xing-Ci?"
Her hands were flailing wildly, her eyes, hazy with intoxication, gleaming with excitement.
"Little brother, you look just like Xingci! Call me sister, sister~"
The two were taken aback by her sudden reaction, and Jin Xian's expression stiffened, his voice tense:
"She recognized me?"
Yang Jinchu glanced at him, then calmly shook her head:
"Probably not."
Sure enough, the next second, Chu Wuyang wrinkled her nose, a hint of grievance appearing on her face, and muttered:
"You little brother, you're lying... You're not Xingci... You just look a little bit like him..."
She gestured with her fingers to indicate the length of "a little bit," her eyes glazed over, not at all like someone who was awake.
Seeing this, Jin Xuan breathed a sigh of relief, patted his chest, and couldn't help but mutter:
"That scared me to death."
Yang Jinchu looked at him and said meaningfully:
"Why are you afraid she'll recognize you? She's your only family now."
Jin Xian shrugged, his tone somewhat perfunctory:
"Women are too troublesome. What if they hold us back? It's better not to acknowledge them."
Yang Jinchu could tell he was being stubborn.
After a moment of silence,
He raised his hand and patted his shoulder, his voice low and gentle:
"I'm so sorry about Grandma. I didn't take good care of you or Yangyang."
Jin Xian's gaze flickered slightly, he pursed his lips, and after a moment shook his head and sighed:
"Brother, it's not your fault... Actually, I'm quite grateful to you."
"Thank you for sending me abroad; you saved my life."
"I have nothing to repay you with, but it's better for me to walk the road ahead alone."
His gaze fell on Chu Wuyang, and he murmured softly:
"Why add another person to the burden?"
Yang Jinchu didn't say much, he just nodded:
"Okay, just let me know if you need anything."
Jin Xian didn't stand on ceremony any longer and nodded in agreement.
——
Chu Wuyang on the sofa kept chattering away, and Ye Yuhe next to her was also woken up, groggily opening her mouth:
"Not older sister, it's Zi Tsk~"
Chu Wuyang, his eyes glazed with drunkenness, pushed away Ye Yuhe who was leaning closer and stubbornly shook his head:
"No, no! I'm the older sister! Not Zi Tsz!"
Ye Yuhe completely ignored him and just kept repeating:
"Yes, purple tsk, purple tsk~"
The two argued back and forth, and inexplicably they both said in unison:
"Yes, Zi Tsk~"
Yang Jinchu and Jin Xuan looked at each other, dumbfounded.
Yang Jinchu's temple twitched, his face darkening with embarrassment. He gritted his teeth and asked:
What did you just do to them?
Jin Xian's eyes widened, her face completely innocent. She quickly pointed at herself and stammered:
