Chapter 214 Let's Talk

As night fell, soft light spilled into the bedroom.

Chu Wuyang came out of the bathroom.

Her body was still damp, and loose strands of hair clung to her cheeks.

She saw that Jingmin had finished washing up and was lying comfortably on the bed.

His expression was languid yet focused, his gaze fixed on her.

Seeing her come out, he casually lifted a corner of the blanket, his tone revealing a hint of caution:

"I've explained it to you today, are you still angry?"

Chu Wuyang didn't respond immediately. While drying her hair with a towel, she replied indifferently:

"An explanation? An act?"

Seeing her cold tone, Jingmin nodded.

He got up and walked to the bedside, picked up the hair dryer from the table, and said in a gentle tone:

"I'll blow-dry your hair."

Chu Wuyang glanced at him and took the hair dryer directly from him:

"No need, I can do it myself."

She turned around and stood in front of the dressing table, starting to blow-dry her hair in front of the mirror.

Jing Min stood to the side, watching her aloof and unapproachable demeanor, a hint of helplessness flashing in his eyes.

He opened his mouth, as if he wanted to say something.

He paused again.

Finally, he sighed and tried to change the subject:

"Actually, I've hinted to you many times before not to involve other people, but you just wouldn't listen, and you almost made a big mistake."

Chu Wuyang sensed the resentment in his words.

She turned off the hairdryer and looked back at him coldly:

"Did I involve people in this?"

"Jingmin, you're giving people the wrong impression. You clearly seem to be interested in Yunyang, and I was even thinking of helping her get together with him!"

Jing Min looked at her slightly angry face.

A sense of helplessness welled up inside me.

He recalled that when he asked her yesterday if she really didn't care about him, she didn't answer, so he knew that asking now would be pointless.

He suppressed a sigh in his heart: Oh well, there's plenty of time. One day she'll admit it herself, that she likes me.

He smiled gently, looked at her earnestly, and spoke in a low but firm tone:

"Yangyang, let me tell you, I have never liked anyone but you."

Chu Wuyang was taken aback by his sudden confession.

But she quickly regained her composure and calmly replied:

"Before that, I heard you were entangled with Yunyang at the wedding? I wasn't even in the audience, so was it necessary to put on an act?"

Jing Min was stunned for a moment after hearing this.

He immediately realized what was happening.

"That's not true at all! You must have misheard. It was Yunyang and other people."

Seeing her brows furrow slightly,

He then briefly recounted what he had overheard outside the door yesterday about the entanglement between Yunyang and Rongfu…

After hearing this, Chu Wuyang was deeply moved.

It turns out that she had always thought that Jingmin and Yunyang had such an entanglement, which is why she kept pushing the blame onto Yunyang.

Unexpectedly, Yun Yang, driven by her own selfish desires, dragged people into such a predicament...

Rong Fu?

No wonder every time she appears, it's as if she's closely watching Yun Yang's every move.

Jingmin noticed that she looked somewhat dazed.

He took the opportunity to pull her hand, gently clasped it with his, and spoke in a low, tender voice:

"Now you know you misunderstood me, right?"

"Actually, Zhou Chen and I are pretty much the same... I only did all this to get your attention and make you jealous..."

"Thankfully we haven't gotten separated yet. Can you forgive me?"

Chu Wuyang lowered her head and withdrew her hand, then casually asked, "..."

"Hasn't Yunyang told you who ordered her? Are you just going to let her go like this?"

Jing Min's expression darkened slightly, but he concealed the disappointment in his eyes and spoke calmly:

"No,"

"Her mental state has started to deteriorate, so we have no choice but to send her to a mental hospital."

Chu Wuyang's eyes flickered.

"Are you trying to wait for a rabbit to run into a tree stump?"

Jing Min shook his head, his tone calm and collected:

"The chances are slim."

"The person who instructed her doesn't seem interested in taking my life; otherwise, when she 'saved' me, there would have been plenty of opportunities to do so."

"Moreover, during those three years, the people behind her hardly contacted her or restrained her."

"She didn't take any action until I returned to Haicheng."

"I think that person probably doesn't want me to go back to Haicheng, but also doesn't want to harm my life."

He paused, then turned his gaze to the night sky outside the window, his expression becoming more somber.

"I've figured it out in the last couple of days."

There should have been two groups of people on the island back then.

"One group wanted to kill me, while the other group just wanted me to leave."

Chu Wuyang frowned, somewhat confused, but she sensed a hint of danger in his tone. She asked in a low voice:

"Then you now..."

Jing Min turned around, reached out and gently ruffled the top of her hair, his tone soft yet firm:

"Don't worry. I didn't tell you before because I was afraid you would overthink things."

“Things are different now; I’ve been on guard for a while now.”

"No matter who's behind me, they can't easily hurt me now."

Chu Wuyang looked into his deep eyes, pursed her lips, and whispered a reply:

"That's good!"

"Then, shall we go to sleep?"

Jingmin asked tentatively, his tone tinged with caution.

Chu Wuyang glanced at him, feeling that the two of them had already talked things out and there was nothing left to argue about.

She threw back the covers and got into bed, saying in a calm tone:

"When are you going back? I just started working, it's not good to take leave."

Jingmin originally wanted to say that this was a small matter that he could resolve by simply talking to their director.

But seeing her earnest and stubborn expression, he chose to respect her opinion and asked gently:
