Chapter 216 Following

At the entrance of Hanyue Temple, the bluestone steps gleamed slightly warm in the winter sun.

In the distance, the pine and cypress trees droop low, setting off the solemn and tranquil vermilion gate.

Chu Wuyang appeared outside the temple gate, wearing a modern Chinese-style long dress.

She wore a light apricot-colored, diagonally-fastened short-sleeved blouse embroidered with delicate plum blossoms, and a dark green long skirt that swayed gently with her steps.

She looked like a gentle and refined young lady who had stepped out of a painting.

Bright and beautiful yet dignified.

As she waited quietly, a black Maybach slowly drove up, its understated luxury gleaming in the sunlight.

The car came to a smooth stop, the door opened, and a slender hand rested on the edge of the door.

Yang Jinchu calmly stepped out of the car.

His outfit today was clearly carefully chosen.

His black, modernly Chinese-style suit made him appear even taller and more imposing.

The collar and cuffs are embroidered with dark green plum blossom patterns, understated yet elegant.

Surprisingly, it matched Chu Wuyang's outfit perfectly.

Chu Wuyang paused for a moment, looked down at her own clothes, and then glanced at Yang Jinchu's attire.

A wave of embarrassment washed over me—wasn't this outfit a little too "matched"?

She pursed her lips, deliberately pulling her coat tighter to cover part of the hem of her skirt and the pattern on her dress.

After Yang Jin closed the car door,

Take a bunch of white camellias out of the trunk.

The petals are pure white, clear and delicate, as if they were just picked in the early morning, with a few water droplets still clinging to them.

Yang Jinchu held the flower in her hand, looked up at Chu Wuyang,

The corners of his mouth turned up slightly, carrying a faint smile.

Chu Wuyang was visibly startled when she saw the bouquet of camellias.

Outside the gate of Kangetsuji Temple in winter,

Such fresh white tea is truly a rare find.

She blinked, her tone slightly surprised:

"Are there still fresh white teas available this season?"

Yang Jinchu smiled faintly and answered calmly:

"If you have the will, you will have it."

As he spoke, he lightly stepped up a step to be level with Chu Wuyang, who was standing two steps higher, and handed the flowers to her.

His gaze was gentle yet meaningful.

Chu Wuyang looked down at it, but did not immediately reach out to take it.

She looked up, concealing a hint of unease on her face, and casually asked:

"Didn't Wen Ying come?"

Upon hearing this, Yang Jinchu turned and looked towards the passenger seat.

The car door was opened.

Wen Ying slowly stepped off the car, carrying a handbag.

She was wearing a black dress today, looking dignified and elegant.

Whether it's the fabric or the pattern, it's definitely a matching couple's outfit with Yang Jinchu.

In an instant, Chu Wuyang realized she had been overthinking things. She gently lowered her hand and loosened her coat.

Wen Ying walked over, smiled, and nodded at Chu Wuyang:

"Wuyang, it's been a long time."

Chu Wuyang nodded slightly and responded.

"Yes, it's been a long time!"

She turned around and naturally took the flowers from Yang Jinchu's hand.

"Thanks!"

Yang Jinchu glanced down at Chu Wuyang beside her, her expression shifting slightly.

His gaze swept past her shoulder and around to her back, then he asked thoughtfully:

You drove here yourself?

"Um,"

Chu Wuyang nodded, then changed the subject, explaining in a calm tone,

"He was sick, so I didn't let him come."

Yang Jinchu narrowed his eyes, his gaze sweeping over the surroundings, his tone carrying a hint of inquiry:

"Yeah?"

He turned his head slightly, his gaze falling on a black Bentley parked across the street.

Although only the rear of the car is visible, how could anyone ignore the arrogant consecutive license plate number?

Yang Jinchu's lips curled into a cold smile:

Are you sure he'll listen to you like that?

Chu Wuyang's heart skipped a beat, and she turned around to look in the direction of his gaze.

In the distance, a black Bentley was parked on the side of the road opposite Hanyue Temple, seemingly spying on something.

However, just as Chu Wuyang turned around...

The car's taillights flashed, and then it silently drove out of sight.

The car glided extremely smoothly, making almost no sound, as if it had never happened.

Chu Wuyang looked at the empty road across the street, frowned slightly, and murmured softly:

"What?"

Yang Jinchu watched this scene and muttered disdainfully:

"It's nothing, I might have misread it."

"Go in!"

The two turned and went into the temple gate.

Wen Ying hurriedly followed behind, her gaze intentionally or unintentionally falling on the white camellia in Chu Wuyang's arms, a hint of undisguised envy in her eyes.

Meanwhile, inside the black Bentley that had already turned and driven away...

Jingmin leaned back in his seat, his gaze drifting further and further away through the rearview mirror at the vermilion gates of Hanyue Temple.

His expression was gloomy.

Her fingers tapped unconsciously on her leg, and a silent snake of jealousy slowly crept into her heart.

Did she see it?

He murmured softly, his tone revealing a hint of guilt.

While focused on driving, Li Yan couldn't help but speak up:

"Madam probably didn't see it,"

"But this car is too conspicuous, and we parked so close together, it's easy to be spotted."

His words were loaded with meaning; President Jing had just been warning him to be careful, or he'd be in big trouble if they found out.

Mr. Jing said he would only take a look from afar and leave, but he kept complaining that he parked too far away.

They also said they couldn't hear the two of them talking at all.

...

He was also warned to be careful not to be seen.

In fact, he even suspected that President Jing seemed like a completely different person.

When have they ever felt so aggrieved?

He said, "So what if they parked right at the main entrance, just like they always have?"
