Chapter 23 Dream Weaver

Night had fallen, and dark clouds drifted slowly across the low-hanging night sky, while a cool breeze rustled through the tangled branches of the trees.

The strange bird calls sounded mournful and desolate in the eerie night.

A light, dark fog spread out, seeping through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the second-floor bedroom.

A lingering, oppressive light enveloped the person on the bed, the woman sleeping soundly in the dappled sunlight streaming through the window.

Her skin was as white as cold porcelain, but her complexion was ashen, and fine beads of sweat appeared on her tightly furrowed brows.

The loose-fitting white satin pajamas looked even more desolate and lonely in the dark and gloomy night.

Her body trembled slightly as she struggled painfully in her nightmare.

Chu Wuyang felt as if she were in the middle of a black sea, surrounded by the stench of rotting fish.

A giant hand pressed her head down into the water; she could barely breathe.

His throat was sore from suffocation that he couldn't make a sound. His blurred vision showed the distant beach had turned blood red, covered with rotting fish carcasses.

They all had their mouths agape, their eyes gouged out, making them look especially ferocious. She struggled to swim away from the beach.

But the roaring waves continued to push her body closer and closer to the beach.

The rotting fish writhed as if they were alive, striking all sorts of bizarre poses.

As he drew closer to her, his empty eye sockets seemed like enormous black holes, ready to swallow her whole at any moment.

A nauseating stench filled her nostrils and mouth, and her body was firmly controlled.

She watched helplessly as the rotting fish touched her, devoured her, and tore her apart; the pain was unbearable.

A sticky, foul stench enveloped my entire body, rendering me unable to move.

Overwhelmed by fear and the prospect of death, she finally gave up struggling and lost consciousness.

Outside the window, it was still pitch black, and the branches were being blown by the wind, making a "clattering" sound as they hit the glass.

The room was extremely quiet.

The person on the bed stared blankly, tears streaming down their face, yet their expression remained utterly indifferent.

——

Jingmin has been away on a business trip for almost a week. Since their last unpleasant encounter, they've returned to a state of complete separation.

But he always had someone around her, so whatever she did at home...

They report every detail about what they eat, who they meet when they go out, and the people around them.

Jing Min sat in the study of his hotel suite, looking at the report in his hand, lost in thought.

It seemed no different from when she was alone abroad before, yet something was clearly different.

She seems to have become a bit "boring".

He has no hobbies.

He mostly spent his time in the garden, gazing blankly at the cleaned lotus pond. At one point, the servant asked if he wanted to put the koi back in, but he said no.

Returning to the report, it stated that she seemed to be collecting information about the amusement park, had even visited it in person, and was interested in submitting her resume.

See? After knowing her for so many years, he still understands her. She's definitely going to make her move.

Actually, it didn't need to be so complicated. She just needed to show him a little bit of weakness.

He would offer it to you with both hands; as for why he doesn't give it to you proactively...

Of course, it requires her to willingly depend on him and only on him.

Jing Family Manor, North Building

Chu Wuyang sat in front of the computer, looking at information about Koala Paradise.

When she married Jingmin, she only inherited 10% of the shares. Adding her uncle's 10%, she now owns 20%.

As the son-in-law of the Chu family, Jing Min surprisingly inherited 20% of the inheritance.

It seems Dad really believes in his judgment and that he will find him a capable and competent son-in-law.

It's ironic that things might end up being a complete waste of time and effort, as Jing Min currently holds the largest shareholding.

Besides what he inherited, he also received a total of 47% from other members of the Chu family over the years.

Aside from the 10% held by Lin Yuebai, and the shares held by her grandfather and other members of the Chu family, the rest...

Jing Min is indeed the largest shareholder, and he naturally holds the corresponding control. No wonder he's reluctant to give it up easily.

After some thought, Chu Wuyang decided she absolutely had to join KOALA; currently, she didn't know anything about management.

But regardless, it's essential to delve into the details and learn thoroughly.

This will make it easier for me to manage it myself in the future, although I know that taking back KOALA will not be easy.

There was a knocking sound at the door. Chu Wuyang got up and opened it. The maid told her that someone was looking for her.

She went downstairs with a puzzled look in her eyes and saw a young girl carrying a large easel standing in the center of the living room, looking around with curious eyes. She had a beautiful face and a natural, elegant charm.

Seeing her come downstairs, her large, bright eyes sparkling beneath her smooth forehead, she smiled slightly.

She also had two sweet dimples on her cheeks.

Her long, beautiful black hair was tied with a green ribbon, and she wore a dress in the same color scheme.

Like tender green shoots emerging in spring, lively and delicate.

Good-looking people are indeed more pleasing to the eye.

Chu Wuyang's heart, which was almost withered and parched, felt as sweet as if a dead tree was about to bloom again in spring.

Are you a dream weaver?

She had already guessed the girl's identity; she had been tormented by nightmares for a long time.

Yang Jinchu did mention that there are dream artists who can draw dreams for healing purposes.

I didn't expect him to actually find me this time when I returned to China.

"Madam is truly intelligent."

The girl smiled radiantly, her cheeks blooming like flowers.

"Madam, simply describe your dream to me, and I can use a special artistic technique to depict the scenes from your dream."

Perhaps sensing Chu Wuyang's wariness and hesitation, she paused before continuing.

"But this is not spying on you. I will maintain professional ethics, not disclose my employer's privacy to anyone, and prioritize the positive and safe aspects of the dream."

"In this process, you can have a completely pleasant and peaceful experience, and find solace in the artistic colors that are uniquely yours."

Chu Wuyang's gaze softened. If this was a process of spiritual healing, then it was a temptation with a fatal attraction for her.

She didn't know how Yang Jinchu found her, but initially she was told he was either a dream artist or a psychological counselor.

She is particularly skilled in hypnosis; it's hard to believe that she, who looks to be only in her early twenties, already has such a solid professional background.

However, geniuses are as numerous as hairs on a cow in this world, so there's nothing unusual about them. Besides, you only know if someone is a genius after you've tried.

She had been suffering from a similar nightmare for a long time, and she always thought that solving the root cause might solve the problem.

However, it seems that the root cause is not good, or rather, it cannot be resolved in the short term. Rather than being tormented for a long time, it's better to try now.

Chu Wuyang nodded, signaling the servant to lead the Dream Artist to a suitable, open yet secluded spot in the garden.

Upon hearing Chu Wuyang's instructions, the girl quietly picked up her easel and paints and followed the maid who was leading the way.

A sly smile, unnoticed by anyone, appeared at the corner of his mouth.
