Chapter 242 Do You Remember Me?

The following day, the summit was held as scheduled, bringing together political and business leaders from around the world to exchange interests and the power of discourse.

Jing Min, dressed in a well-tailored suit, sat calmly and composed in the center of the venue.

He remained adept at handling the probing and negotiations from representatives of all parties.

Chu Wuyang did not accompany them, but instead chose to wander around the hotel at her leisure.

This place is built against the mountain.

Winter sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows into the long corridor, creating a beautiful interplay of snow and golden light.

It has a unique charm.

She walked along the corridor for a while, and was about to return to her room when she passed the hotel's rooftop garden...

Their path was blocked.

"Isn't this Mr. Jing's wife?"

The deep male voice carried a hint of amusement.

Chu Wuyang raised his eyes,

I saw a tall, handsome young man leaning against the railing.

He was swirling a glass of strong liquor in his hand.

His dark pupils held an undisguised scrutiny.

She recognized him—it was Joanne, the son of a local councilor.

Chu Wuyang ignored him and was about to walk past him and leave.

But he blocked her way by stepping to the side.

"Such a beautiful lady, why is she all alone?"

"She's so pitiful, may I keep her company?"

Qiao An chuckled, his gaze sweeping casually over her, his tone undisguisedly flirtatious.

"Mr. Jing, aren't you afraid of being lonely?"

Chu Wuyang's expression turned slightly cold, but she quickly concealed her emotions and spoke calmly:

"Please move aside!"

Joanne chuckled softly.

He seemed completely unconcerned by her indifference.

Instead, he slowly took half a step closer, his tone becoming increasingly presumptuous:

"The way you look at me makes me want to..."

Chu Wuyang's fingertips tightened slightly, and a hint of coldness flashed in his eyes.

She didn't want to cause any unnecessary trouble, let alone create any complications in Switzerland.

At this moment, she still didn't react, but forcibly suppressed her discomfort and spoke in a calm tone:

"Didn't the congressman teach you that it's very impolite to offend someone's wife?"

Qiao An raised an eyebrow, looking at her with a half-smile:

"But some people are just born to be offended, aren't they?"

Chu Wuyang's patience finally ran out.

She gave him a cold look.

I walked past him without saying another word.

"Mrs. Jing, do you remember me?"

Joanne suddenly chuckled softly, her tone ambiguous.

"Five years ago, the 'Royal Shadow,' wasn't that you?"

A few disjointed keywords made Chu Wuyang stop in her tracks.

She turned around, her brows furrowed slightly, and looked at him coldly without responding.

Joanne gently swirled the wine in her glass, a hint of malicious amusement reflected in her dark eyes:

"Yes... that night five years ago, the scene was so chaotic..."

"...How could someone as 'rare' as you possibly notice someone as insignificant as me?"

Chu Wuyang's pupils contracted slightly, and his fingertips tightened instantly.

She remained outwardly calm, her tone completely even:

"I don't understand what you're saying."

"Can't understand?"

Joan looked at her with a half-smile, then gently shook her head.

"It can't be that bad, can it?"

"Five years ago, on the 'Royal Shadow,' at the secret auction house... you were far more captivating then than you are now..."

He deliberately softened his tone, as if to savor the weight these words carried in her heart.

Chu Wuyang's fingers unconsciously tightened around the hem of her skirt, and her heartbeat became inexplicably erratic.

She couldn't remember what happened five years ago.

But Yang Jinchu deliberately blocked out that memory.

Does nobody really know?

Joan looked at her, her gaze slowly sliding down her bare collarbone.

Do you know?

"Back then, I stood in the crowd and only glanced at you from afar, but I remembered you..."

"Five years have passed, and I've never forgotten you..."

He narrowed his eyes, his smile carrying an unsettling hint of nostalgia.

"Back then, you were so innocent and alluring...it was enough to make anyone's blood boil at just one glance,"

Chu Wuyang's breath hitched, and his back tensed instantly.

But his expression remained calm as he angrily rebuked...

“I don’t know what Mr. Joan is talking about,”

"But Mr. Joan's remarks were so offensive to the lady of the house; it was certainly not in the manners expected of a gentleman,"

"Yes, Madam is right!"

"It's just that I've been longing for you, Madam, for so long, and I was too hasty."

"My words were inappropriate and I apologize to you, Madam!"

Joan apologized verbally, but her eyes remained unblinking.

His gaze lingered unabashedly on Chu Wuyang.

It was like examining a fine collectible.

He then chuckled softly and leaned closer to her in a low voice:

"Mr. Jing may be a very successful businessman, but there are some things..."

"He might not be able to satisfy you, right?"

His tone carried a suggestive, seductive undertone.

The last syllable rose slightly, as if offering her a suggestive invitation:

“Some deals can be made privately, which isn’t impossible—of course, this one,”

"Mr. Jing probably wouldn't want to know."

Chu Wuyang's heart sank, and a chilling glint flashed in his eyes.

She took a deep breath.

I forcibly suppressed the urge to slap him.

I forced myself to calm down.

"Sorry, I'm not interested."

She spoke calmly, looking at him indifferently.

"If Mr. Joan continues to cause trouble..."

“I wouldn’t mind letting your father know what you did to the wives of foreign dignitaries during the summit.”
