At midnight, Li Yan quietly entered the hotel room.
His face was grave, and there was a hint of hesitation in his eyes.
The living room was so quiet that only the occasional sound of the wind coming from outside the window and the oppressive feeling of the night could be heard.
Li Yan entered and spoke softly:
"President Jing, Qiao An has been confirmed dead."
He paused, then added,
"He was already dead before I could do anything about it."
Jing Min's lips curled into a cold smile, his tone completely unwavering.
"He certainly died a quick and decisive death!"
Li Yan hesitated for a moment, then whispered a reminder:
"Mr. Jing, shall we depart for China now?"
"Or should we leave Switzerland first?"
"I'm worried that Representative Feng might retaliate."
Jing Min raised his head, his gaze slowly falling on the closed bedroom door, a cold light flashing in his eyes.
"Yeah?"
He chuckled softly, his tone dismissive.
"Perhaps he doesn't even have a chance to catch his breath right now, and is frantically trying to figure out a way out overnight,"
He stood up, walked to the window, his back to Li Yan, and spoke softly:
“Go and send those whistleblower materials to his opponent’s high-ranking officials, so that they will have a little ‘surprise’ before the next election.”
"We will not return to China for the time being; we will continue to stay in Switzerland."
He turned around.
"I'm taking my wife skiing tomorrow,"
"However, you'll need to send a group of our people to be ready."
Li Yan was slightly taken aback, then nodded.
He didn't say anything more.
"Understood, Mr. Jing."
Li Yan answered in a low voice.
I'll take care of it right away.
Jing Min watched Li Yan leave.
He went into the bedroom, returned to the bed, and leaned down to gently stroke Chu Wuyang's hair.
She was still unconscious, and her quiet and unharmed state calmed him down a little.
——
The helicopter flew smoothly over the snow-capped mountains of the Alps.
Outside the window, the snow was pristine white, creating a scene reminiscent of a fairytale world.
Chu Wuyang leaned back in her chair, watching Jing Min carefully tying her scarf.
His fingers trembled slightly, yet he still meticulously arranged every single detail for her.
She looked down at those familiar hands, her heart filled with complex emotions.
"Are you really alright?"
Chu Wuyang finally spoke, his voice low and tinged with unease.
Jing Min glanced at her, smiled slightly, and his deep voice softly rang out:
"It's okay, don't let it affect your mood."
"You wanted to go skiing before, and you kept complaining that I was too busy with work?"
"That's good now. I'll only stay with you, and I won't let those things affect us anymore."
Chu Wuyang stared at Jing Min for a long time.
The doubts in my heart grew heavier.
Her gaze involuntarily lingered on his face.
It's like searching for something different.
Qiao An had expected Jing Min to react to her words last night, at least in some way.
But now it seems,
He didn't seem to care.
This disappointed her somewhat.
Some people breathed a sigh of relief.
She lowered her head, wondering if she should bring it up herself.
She was thinking about it in bed last night.
This incident involving Joan is bound to cause quite a stir.
If Joan deliberately brought it up out of revenge, and then embellished it to disgust her,
I wonder if Jingmin will retaliate in some terrifying way?
It would be better for her to just be honest; that way, she could appease him and perhaps prevent Jing Min from acting impulsively.
Finally, after much deliberation,
Chu Wuyang took a deep breath and decided to speak first:
Jingmin, there's something I want to tell you.
Suddenly, the helicopter's rotor noise became even more piercing, and its flight speed increased slightly.
It almost completely drowned out her voice.
Jingmin didn't hear clearly, so he turned to her and asked:
"What did you say?"
Chu Wuyang couldn't help but frown, intending to repeat himself.
Just as she was about to speak, Jing Min reminded her...
"Sit tight, we'll be landing soon."
Ski resort
Jingmin helped Chu Wuyang put on her ski gear, and carefully checked her helmet and knee pads.
Seeing that she remained silent,
He reached out and patted her head:
"It's alright, have fun. Joan is dead, don't let him affect us, he's bad luck!"
Chu Wuyang suddenly looked up, her gaze freezing.
"You...you just said Joan is dead?"
Jing Min nodded, his tone calm:
"Yes, it stopped breathing last night."
His emotions didn't fluctuate much; his words even revealed a hint of regret.
He got off too easily, dying so lightly!
Chu Wuyang felt a void in her heart upon hearing this, and the words she was about to say suddenly seemed unnecessary.
She was silent for a moment.
He lowered his head, his eyes seemingly devoid of any emotion.
Jingmin noticed her silence and asked with a smile:
"What were you trying to say on the helicopter just now?"
Chu Wuyang shook her head and said softly:
"fine."
Jingmin smiled:
"Shall we go? Shall I show you around for a spin?"
Jing Min held Chu Wuyang's hands and steadily led her along the ski slope.
Whenever she lost her balance, he would gently support her to make sure she didn't fall.
Jing Min's movements were swift and precise, carrying Chu Wuyang as they glided across the snow like the wind, seemingly effortless.
"Slow down, watch your step."
He whispered a reminder, but his eyes never left her feet, remaining vigilant at all times.
Chu Wuyang took a deep breath; the snowboard beneath her feet still made her a little nervous.
How come you're always so steady?
"I feel like a novice."
Jing Min smiled slightly, his gaze fixed intently on her.
