Chapter 264 Captured Alive

Through the car window, Chu Wuyang saw the traffic outside gradually come to a standstill, and the traffic became extremely congested.

Her pupils reflected the blazing fire, and the tremor in her heart made her momentarily forget to react.

He just stared blankly, his body stiff.

It was only the sharp pain in her wrist that brought her back to her senses. She glanced down...

The intense pain forced her to turn her head away.

She met Jing Min's deep eyes.

Those eyes were like frozen ice, radiating an indescribable coldness.

The car's loudspeaker came through clearly.

"Just minutes ago, a private plane crashed at XXX airport for unknown reasons after takeoff. The number of casualties is currently unknown..."

Chu Wuyang froze, her face pale with shock, and her body began to tremble slightly.

She felt Jingmin's grip on her wrist tighten until red marks appeared.

Jing Min's eyes were slightly red as he stared intently at Chu Wuyang, his gaze deep and dark, a mixture of anger and suppressed pain.

His voice was low and menacing, filled with barely concealed anger as he pressed him for an answer.

Are you still thinking about him?

"Are you worried about him?"

Chu Wuyang looked at the handsome face before him, yet a chilling madness shone in his eyes.

It was as if the darkness of the abyss was slowly devouring all reason.

Sadness and self-blame flashed in her eyes.

Realizing that all of this might be because of her, which was why he had become like this, his eyes involuntarily welled up with tears.

She kept shaking her head, as if trying to deny everything she was seeing.

In Jing Min's eyes, her reaction seemed more like a deliberate attempt to conceal—to hide her momentary worry for Zhou Heng.

Jing Min's fingers tightened and then loosened slightly, easing the pressure on her hand.

He sat up straight.

His voice was low and weak, carrying a hint of uncontrollable despair.

How far have you progressed in your business?

"A hug? A kiss, or...slept together?"

Chu Wuyang's eyes widened in shock at every word he spoke.

What are you saying?

Jing Min didn't answer immediately, but instead took out his phone and slowly operated the screen.

With a series of mechanical clicking sounds, the air inside the carriage became even more stagnant.

Chu Wuyang noticed that

Jingmin swiped the screen skillfully, as if he had already memorized every second of the content.

Without hesitation, I switched the recording to play at the crucial moment.

The recording was clear and familiar, yet it carried an eerie feeling of being pieced together and edited.

Chu Wuyang's breathing instantly became rapid.

Jing Min finally spoke, his voice still calm, but the coldness within it was even more chilling.

"This was sent to me by Zhou Heng after the surgery to remove the bullet from my chest cavity. I had it authenticated, and the recording is genuine."

"What, have nothing to say?"

He gave a self-deprecating chuckle, a laugh tinged with mockery and despair.

"Your current state is exactly the same as in the recording."

He moved closer to her.

"Still breathing just as loudly,"

"You also don't know how to refute it?"

He raised his hand and touched her cheek, his gaze intense, as if searching for her every reaction.

Chu Wuyang met his eyes, her gaze open and honest.

"The recording is indeed real, but it was edited. I didn't refute it because Jin Zhuoer wanted to do something to me, so I had no choice but to do it,"

My initial intention was not to be used to threaten or provoke you.

I never expected Zhou Heng and Jin Zhuoer to be so ruthless as to release a recording to provoke Jing Min when she was at her most vulnerable.

She hadn't expected that Jing Min would notice just because her breathing was a little louder.

Jing Min's gaze softened slightly, as if he was somewhat swayed by her words.

But it was quickly covered by a layer of coldness.

He lowered his head, a mocking smile playing on his lips.

Should I believe the words of a woman who betrayed me?

A flicker of pain crossed his eyes.

Chu Wuyang's heart sank slightly. She bit her lower lip; every word he spoke pierced her heart.

"I didn't betray you; you know it was out of necessity."

Jing Min suddenly smiled, a smile tinged with a chilling sadness.

"Another unavoidable situation?"

"You have so many reasons why you can't do what I don't want to do?"

"If it requires such betrayal to protect myself, I'd rather die."

Chu Wuyang took a deep breath and reiterated in a calm tone,

"I have not betrayed you, nor have I ever intended to betray you."

"I just hope we can all live."

"Does a betrayal that is unavoidable not count as a betrayal?"

Jing Min coldly retorted, as if he were rehashing her words, full of sarcasm and unbearable pain.

Suddenly, as if struck by a thought, Jing Min abruptly reached out and grabbed Chu Wuyang's arm, his grip a little too strong.

The voice unconsciously carried a hint of urgency and anger.

What's wrong with your phone's location tracking?

How did you contact each other privately?

"Have you met privately a few times?"

"I've been watching you every day, and you're still flirting with me right under my nose?"

He became increasingly agitated as he spoke until he suddenly coughed violently.

Chu Wuyang looked at the blood on his shoulder, which hadn't dried, and asked with a worried expression.

How are you?

"Where are Li Yan and the others? Should we go to the hospital now?"

Although she didn't know the exact extent of his injuries, she could imagine it.

It's impossible for the body to fully recover in just half a month.

Jing Min completely ignored her concern; his gaze was cold and piercing, binding her like chains.

Determined to find the answer,

"several times?"

Chu Wuyang replied eagerly.
