Chu Wuyang quickly washed the dishes Jingmin had used and dried her hands.
Turning around, I saw Jingmin still standing behind the bar.
The warm yellow light cast a faint shadow on his slender figure.
My eyes followed her every move.
"You've finished your porridge, why aren't you upstairs yet?"
She raised an eyebrow at him.
While casually asking,
While putting the cleaned dishes back in their place,
"Wait for you."
Jingmin answered as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Chu Wuyang paused slightly in her hand holding the towel, a hint of doubt creeping into her mind.
Waiting for her?
What are we waiting for her for?
They didn't share a room.
Just then, she saw Jing Min slowly walk over and stand in front of her.
He looked down at her, his voice low and weary.
Yet they were exceptionally serious.
"The injury has healed."
Chu Wuyang didn't react for a moment.
She knew his injuries were almost healed, so he didn't need her to take care of him.
"so?"
Jingmin's slightly lowered eyelashes trembled.
He looked up at her, his eyes filled with a hint of expectation.
His tone was calm, with a certain sense of entitlement.
"So, we can have sex now."
The surroundings immediately fell silent.
The only sound in the kitchen was the occasional soft dripping of water into the sink.
Chu Wuyang looked at him with a "What are you talking about?" expression on her face.
But Jingmin stood there, his face serious, his expression calm and restrained.
It was as if what I had just said was nothing more than a commonplace and reasonable thing.
But there was a hint of grievance in his tone.
It's obvious he's trying to seduce her!
Chu Wuyang looked at his serious expression and combined it with what he said.
It created a strange sense of disconnect.
She blinked gently.
He lowered his head, wiped his hands, and responded hesitantly.
"Jingmin, the doctor said you need to rest more—"
"The doctor didn't say that we can't have sex."
Jingmin interrupted her calmly before she could finish speaking, his tone serious as if they were discussing important business.
Chu Wuyang: "..."
The bathroom was filled with steam.
The warm yellow light shone on Jing Min, making his slender yet still upright figure stand out clearly.
Two months have passed since he was injured.
This was the first time Chu Wuyang had seen his scars up close.
The stitches from the knife wounds have long been removed, and the gunshot wound on his shoulder and the cut on his thigh are gradually healing.
But when her gaze fell on the deepest gunshot wound in his chest, her breath caught in her throat.
The scar stretched across his heart, its dark marks clinging menacingly to his pale skin.
Like a silent accusation, it starkly reveals the traces of his struggle on the brink of death.
It also serves as a reminder to her—
Jingmin was indeed drawn to her because she had truly experienced a life-or-death situation.
Her fingertips tightened slightly, and her eyelashes trembled.
Lower your gaze
But it didn't move an inch.
Jingmin noticed her silent gaze, and his brows furrowed slightly.
His expression darkened further.
He forcefully pulled a towel from the side to cover his body, his tone displeased, tinged with a hint of stubbornness:
"Get out!"
Chu Wuyang was slightly taken aback and looked up at him.
Why is he unhappy again?
She knew Jingmin's temper was unpredictable.
But this time she didn't do anything, so why is he throwing a tantrum?
Am I being too sensitive?
My gaze couldn't help but fall once again on his crisscrossing scars, and my heart ached with a dull pain.
After a moment of silence,
She suppressed the bitterness in her heart and patiently asked...
"I'm going out. Is it convenient for you to clean yourself?"
Jing Min's face darkened further, and his voice became muffled.
"Let Li Yan in."
Chu Wuyang froze, then turned to leave.
"Then I'm leaving."
She had barely finished speaking when her wrist was grabbed.
Jing Min's force wasn't heavy, but it carried an urgentness that left no room for refusal.
"Don't go!"
He spoke in a low voice.
Chu Wuyang looked up at him.
Jing Min lowered his eyes, gritted his teeth, as if he were fighting against himself.
Finally, she slowly pulled back the towel covering her body, her tone somewhat stiff:
"It will be alright."
His voice was low, tinged with a hint of embarrassed restraint.
"These scars...are a bit unsightly,"
"Once the wound is fully healed, the doctor said the scar can be removed..."
Chu Wuyang was stunned, and finally understood.
Does he care about these scars?
Did he think she disliked the appearance of the scars?
A mix of emotions welled up inside her, and before she could say anything...
Then Jingmin quickly added:
"Once I've fully recovered, I'll get my abs back."
"Um?"
Chu Wuyang didn't react for a moment.
Her gaze unconsciously fell on his lower abdomen.
Sure enough, his once firm and strong abdominal muscles had become less noticeable due to his recent weight loss.
But even so,
The man before me was still extremely aggressive and attractive.
His features were deep and sculpted, his eyes were cold and aloof, yet he possessed a noble air of detachment.
His damp hair hung down his forehead, and water droplets slid down his sharply defined jawline, blooming at the junction of his collarbone and shoulder.
Even though his face showed a rare hint of unease and nervousness,
But it does not diminish his brilliance and charm in the slightest.
But who wouldn't want to dress up for someone they like?
How to present your best self to your partner?
She opened her mouth slightly, feeling as if something had struck her heart heavily.
