"You're not answering my question!"
Chu Wuyang's tone was reproachful.
Jing Min frowned slightly.
I instinctively reached out to hug her, but she dodged me with lightning speed.
His movements froze in mid-air.
He paused for a moment,
His gaze suddenly darkened, becoming as black as the surface of a starless sea at night.
Why are you hiding?
He spoke in a low voice, his tone no longer gentle.
Chu Wuyang replied coldly.
"Don't change the subject, I'm asking you—isn't that right?"
Jing Min remained silent, his expression neither joyful nor angry.
But this silence,
In Chu Wuyang's eyes, this was tantamount to acquiescence!
Her heart tightened.
She stared intently at the man before her, the anger from before gone, replaced by utter disappointment.
"So you cooperated with Grandpa Jin to create a bunch of messy troubles?"
"You're perfectly fine but you don't reply to my messages? You just disappeared like that, did you want me to worry about you?"
She hadn't forgotten the fleeting joy in his eyes when that slap landed.
He hadn't forgotten his twisted act of deliberately cooperating with Yun Yang's performance just to "see her jealous."
So now, deliberately cooperating with Mr. Jin to stage this "catching them in the act" drama doesn't seem so surprising...
Otherwise, why couldn't he reply to a message when he was perfectly fine?
Can't I even let them know I'm safe?
Jingmin stood still, listening quietly as she finished speaking.
But as he listened, the emotion in his eyes suddenly changed.
The images from the surveillance footage involuntarily flashed through his mind—her eye contact with Yang Jinchu, their intimate gestures, their seamless coordination, like longtime confidantes, understanding each other without words…
Where do these actions place him?
"in a hurry?"
Jing Min's voice turned cold, tinged with disdain.
"All I see is the tacit understanding between you and Yang Jinchu—"
"Smack!"
Another slap landed.
"You were indeed spying from behind!"
Chu Wuyang shouted angrily.
Jingmin touched his other, burning cheek, a slight smile playing on his lips.
It was as if he was laughing in anger.
"Did you enjoy that? Want a couple more hits?"
"You pervert!"
Chu Wuyang cursed.
Jing Min gritted his teeth, his tone grim.
"Am I more perverted than Yang Jinchu?"
"How innocent can the owner of the infamous 'Royal Shadow' really be?"
Stop speculating about others.
Chu Wuyang retorted sharply.
"At least Ah Jin is genuinely helping me find Zhou Heng, unlike some people who don't do anything important but are willing to sell their bodies for some childish jealousy!"
She glanced at the bed in the bedroom through the bathroom glass, her tone full of sarcasm.
Jing Min's face was extremely tense, and he asked in a low voice through gritted teeth,
Who are you talking about?
Chu Wuyang advanced instead of retreating, replying,
"Whoever hears this will be called out!"
Jing Min's anger level soared, his eyes narrowed, and his breathing became heavy.
Is that how she sees him?
Is that what she really thinks?
His throat bobbed slightly as he stared intently at her mouth, which was uttering hurtful words, wishing he could just shut it up.
And he did indeed move—
He leaned closer, his intentions clear.
But Chu Wuyang quickly and accurately took a step back.
Jing Min's face suddenly darkened like the clouds before a storm.
"how?"
"Now I can't even touch it?"
"Or has Yang Jinchu bewitched you again?"
He gritted his teeth.
Chu Wuyang was equally unyielding.
"Don't try to shift the blame; you don't appreciate a good intention!"
"A kind heart?"
Jing Min sneered.
"What good deeds did he do?"
"Oh, you just said he helped you find Zhou Heng?"
He pressed on relentlessly, his tone growing increasingly cold.
"What, he helped you once, and now you're remembering his kindness?"
"Don't forget, who caused all this trouble because of those dark thoughts?"
"Even if he finds Zhou Heng, it's just making amends at best. Is that something for you to be so grateful for?"
He paused, his gaze fixed on her face, and then forced out a single sentence through clenched teeth.
"Do you feel that I'm useless now and can't help your Chu family?"
"So grateful to Yang Jinchu? How about... you simply offer yourself in marriage?"
He froze as soon as he finished speaking.
When people lose control of their emotions, they often say things they don't mean.
As soon as Jing Min said it, he felt a pang of regret.
But he didn't even have time to say anything to make amends—
"Smack!"
Another resounding slap landed hard.
Chu Wuyang pushed him away without hesitation and rushed out of the bathroom without looking back.
Jingmin lost his balance for a moment.
His leg injury caused him to buckle, and he crashed hard into the edge of the stone bathtub.
"ah--!"
A cry of pain suddenly rang out.
Chu Wuyang heard this, but didn't stop walking at all. She coldly slammed open the bathroom door.
As she walked into the bedroom, her eyes met those of the woman on the bed.
There was no doubt—they were making such a racket in the bathroom,
If the person in bed isn't deaf, how could they not hear it?
Chu Wuyang paused in his steps.
He stared at that face for a second or two with a complicated expression.
The makeup, created with gold leaf eyeshadow, was exquisitely glamorous, bordering on extravagant.
The eyes revealed beneath the veil were half innocent and half desire.
It was as if they were silently seeking favor, or as if they had long been accustomed to playing a certain role in such situations.
Chu Wuyang immediately felt extremely ironic.
