Chapter 3 Returning Home

Meanwhile, in Haicheng, at the headquarters building of Boyifang Group,

At nine o'clock in the morning, sunlight streamed through the magnificent glass curtain wall, making the top-floor conference room exceptionally spacious and bright.

The greenery and natural light added a touch of magic and vitality to the space.

However, this scene did not bring any joy.

Conversely, the atmosphere in the meeting room was somber, and the projector light shone coldly on the screen.

The light shone on Jing Min's tense face in the main seat, his solemn expression casting a thick shadow over his handsome features.

The air seemed to freeze.

The executives seated on both sides quickly looked away the moment their eyes met.

The somber atmosphere felt like a heavy stone, pressing down on the hearts of everyone present.

It was suffocating; everyone silently looked down at their documents.

It's like they're running away from something.

Suddenly, a telephone rang in the quiet space.

Jing Min's eyes revealed a hint of anxiety as he sharply scanned his surroundings.

No one uttered a sound.

Silence during meetings is strictly enforced; who would dare to defy this rule right under the CEO's nose?

Just as everyone was anxiously guessing who it was,

A few seconds later, another clear text message ringtone sounded, like a slap in the face.

Everyone saw the CEO's face instantly turn extremely gloomy, and just as he was about to speak,

The president's assistant, Yan Zhou, glanced silently at his phone, stood up, walked closer, and whispered a reminder.

"Mr. Jing, your wife has already boarded the plane. Li Yan said he has sent you the flight information."

Upon hearing this, Jing Min's expression softened, and he calmly picked up his phone to check it.

His dark eyes paused for a moment.

Yan Zhou, who was standing nearby, clearly saw a hint of joy flash in President Jing's eyes.

Others also rarely saw the CEO staring blankly at his phone screen.

Everyone keenly sensed President Jing's emotional fluctuations, and they all stopped what they were doing.

They looked at each other in bewilderment.

"continue"

A man's cool voice echoed in the quiet conference room, and everyone immediately snapped back to reality and continued their work discussion.

In the subsequent reporting process, a senior executive's data contained an obvious error.

Everyone expected to be met with the president's furious wrath.

However, to everyone's surprise, President Jing, who is known for his strictness, calmly spoke up and asked him to correct it.

They turned the page on it with such nonchalance.

The pace of the meeting also noticeably accelerated in the latter half.

You could even vaguely see a faint smile playing on the CEO's lips.

Yan Zhou was used to this; others might not know, but he was the one who knew it best.

Mrs. Jing's influence on their CEO

For the past two years, he has kept a close eye on Mrs. Jing's whereabouts abroad.

Li Yan was assigned as a bodyguard to protect him.

While ostensibly for protection, calling it surveillance wouldn't be an exaggeration.

The slightest disturbance over there will send bloodshed to President Jing's side.

I remember Li Yan sending two photos to President Jing a few days ago.

That very evening, he instructed Li Yan to book tickets back to China immediately. The two spent nearly two hours in the study.

Even when Li Yan came out, his face was bruised.

Even though he was far away, he could still see that the people in the photo were his wife and a man whose face was not visible because his back was to the camera.

"What happened over there?"

Li Yan, whose eye was cracked, looked at him, hesitated, and shook his head.

The next day, President Jing got into a minor car accident while driving.

When he arrived to handle the situation, he could hardly believe it.

A person who was always so proud and composed, who could remain unmoved even if Mount Tai collapsed before him, now looked so dejected and lifeless.

A man sat on a stone bench by the roadside at the scene of the accident. His hair was a little messy, he had dark circles under his eyes and a stubble beard, and there was blood on his white shirt.

But they just won't go to the hospital, as if someone has taken away something they cherish.

His face was ashen and utterly defeated...

At 6 PM, most people were already preparing to leave work.

In the CEO's office, Yan Zhou was still reporting on his work.

"President Jing, Fu Ri Group sent over the project proposal for the Yucheng Resort project this morning."

"The marketing department has already reviewed and supplemented the report; you'll need to take another look."

"President Jing?"

For the past half hour, Jingmin had been frequently distracted, staring at the white rose that came with the gift box from the brand on the table.

The closer the time got, the more restless he became, but his expression remained calm.

"I understand," Jingmin seemed to snap out of his daze.

Yan Zhou glanced at his watch, hesitated for a few seconds, and tentatively asked:

"Mr. Jing, why don't you go home first? We can discuss the rest in the main conference room tomorrow morning. Your wife's flight is almost here."

Jing Min's cold gaze swept over them in one glance, his voice clear yet authoritative as he said:

"Yan Zhou, is this your first day at work? The success of a project is the result of the collective efforts of the entire team. How can you let personal matters waste time?"

"Mrs. Jing's return to China is just a very ordinary thing."

The plane streaked across the sky, leaving a faint white trail...

9:20 PM, Haicheng Airport

Chu Wuyang pushed her black suitcase out of the airport. She wasn't surprised when she saw Li Yan's figure at the entrance and the black Bentley next to him; judging from the license plate, it belonged to the Jing family.

He walked straight over and silently opened the back door.

It was already late at night, and the car drove through streets illuminated by colorful neon lights.

The shimmering lights of skyscrapers reflected off the car as it sped by, casting flickering shadows on the pale faces inside.
