Several hours have passed.
Jing Min stared at the security camera footage at the hotel entrance, watching it frame by frame repeatedly.
He remained motionless, his entire being sinking into that cold, lifeless screen.
In the video, Chu Wuyang walks out of the hotel.
A man dressed in black came forward.
The two exchanged a few words.
Chu Wuyang then followed the other person away.
There was no struggle, no hesitation; the whole process seemed to be entirely voluntary on her part.
But Jingmin felt there was something wrong no matter how he looked at it.
Chu Wuyang would never leave with strangers in an unfamiliar place.
Moreover, that person didn't seem like someone seeking help.
The most important point is that,
As the man left, he deliberately glanced up at the camera.
That fixed gaze carried a deliberate provocation.
His face is clearly visible in the video; he is an unfamiliar Asian face.
Jingmin definitely hadn't seen this face before.
But those eyes seemed familiar, like I'd seen them somewhere before.
"President Jing?"
Yan Zhou stood behind the computer technician and reported, looking up.
"The video recording was not tampered with, but the footage was replaced."
"So that wasn't Yangyang?"
Jingmin's voice was so low it sounded like it was being squeezed out of his throat.
Yan Zhou nodded.
"It's definitely not him, he's an imposter."
After all, there was only a silhouette.
"The visuals are very realistic, but technical analysis confirms that it was inserted using time manipulation."
Jingmin tapped his finger on the table.
One second I was relieved,
He knew she wouldn't go with strangers.
But the next second his brows furrowed.
If the surveillance footage is fake...
That means the license plate, the route, everything could be fake.
Without any useful information, there was no way to locate her.
I wonder how she is now?
Did you encounter any danger?
His throat tightened, and he looked up to ask,
Who is that person?
"Did you find it?"
Since the video was inserted and the timeline was fabricated, then the person must be a real, existing person.
You can find out by tracing this person's identity.
Finally, there's a usable clue.
Yan Zhou looked at the computer, his tone filled with confusion.
"A clear, front-facing photo; the system compared it to almost every database, but couldn't find any identity information."
"The data also shows that no traces were deliberately erased."
"And it's as if—this person never existed."
"No trace whatsoever?"
Jingmin stared at him, his voice low and deep.
"Not even fuzzy matching?"
Yan Zhou also frowned.
"Unless... this face was newly generated."
"For example, cosmetic surgery, AI face swapping, or—"
"Newborn?"
Jingmin took over the conversation, his eyes turning gloomy.
Yan Zhou tilted his head in thought.
"Newborn?"
Then he nodded the next second.
"There are no traces of even the most basic social activity; it can only be a newborn,"
He paused, his gaze sweeping across the facial image on the screen.
"A close-up of the high-resolution image reveals that this is a 'new' face that has undergone cosmetic surgery,"
"And it was done deliberately to avoid facial recognition systems—from a technical point of view, it's a 'newly created' face used to hide the real identity,"
Yan Zhou frowned and said,
"Either they are extremely secretive individuals, or..."
Before he could finish speaking, Jingmin's phone rang.
Yan stopped in his speech.
Jing Min glanced down at the screen, his eyes turning cold instantly.
He answered the phone, his tone icy.
Where did you take my wife?
The unhurried voice of Grandpa Jin came from the other end of the phone.
"Ah Min, why are you labeling me right off the bat?"
"You made several calls just now, but Grandpa was busy and couldn't answer—what's wrong? Did something urgent happen?"
Jingmin didn't beat around the bush and asked directly.
Where is she?
Mr. Jin paused for a moment,
He immediately smiled lightly.
"You mean the young lady from the Chu family?"
"I just kindly gave her your address. What, she didn't come looking for you?"
"Or...did she go, but happened to see something she shouldn't have...did you two have a fight?"
He spoke as if it were a casual remark.
But there was clearly a hint of premeditated schadenfreude hidden within it.
Jing Min's expression suddenly darkened, his gaze sharp as a knife.
His fingers gripped his phone tightly, his knuckles turning slightly white, and his voice was extremely low.
"You arranged all this on purpose, did you anticipate that we would argue?"
Grandpa Jin chuckled on the other end, his tone still composed.
I didn't say that.
"Don't think of Grandpa as all-powerful, Amin."
Jing Min's patience had clearly reached its limit; he abruptly stood up from his chair.
The voice was so cold and sharp it seemed to shatter the air.
Where is she?
"If she were to lose even a single hair, do you believe I'd blow up the entire Jin family right now!"
A dismissive "tsk" came from the other end of the phone.
"Why are you still so impatient?"
"Everyone says women cause trouble, but Grandpa is doing this for your own good."
"Only when you are free from the entanglements of women can you accomplish great things."
"The outside world is so vast..."
"Old man, are you going to talk or not?!"
Jingmin roared, his voice silencing the entire house.
Several subordinates subconsciously looked up.
It dropped again in the next second.
There was a pause of a few seconds on the other end of the phone, and the tone became noticeably lower.
