Chapter 316 Car Accident

One afternoon a month later

The sun was shining brightly, and the traffic on the city's main roads was not heavy.

Chu Wuyang drove alone, the car was silent.

Only the deep rumble of the engine and the occasional sound of the wind outside the window flowed in my ears.

Sunlight streamed through the windshield, casting a warm glow on her profile.

She looked slightly tired, with a thin layer of sweat on the tip of her nose.

Slender hands rested on the steering wheel.

Fingertips tapped out a rhythm.

The next second, the scene changed abruptly.

A figure suddenly darted out from the sidewalk without any warning.

He lunged straight at the front of her car.

Chu Wuyang's pupils contracted sharply, and he instinctively slammed on the brakes!

"squeak--!"

The screeching sound of the sudden braking almost tore through the air, and the car lurched violently.

She lurched forward, her forehead slamming hard against the edge of the steering wheel.

She groaned in pain.

His entire face had lost all color.

My head started buzzing.

Feeling dizzy and disoriented, she didn't even think about herself, frantically unbuckling her seatbelt.

He pushed open the car door and rushed out.

In the sunlight, a thin figure lay on the ground.

His hair was somewhat disheveled, his forehead was stained with blood, and his face was deathly pale.

Chu Wuyang's heart tightened.

He quickly stepped forward and squatted down, his voice urgent yet as calm as possible.

"Are you alright? What happened? Why did you suddenly rush out?"

The person who had fallen to the ground slowly raised their head—was it Wen Ying?

Wen Ying looked bewildered, her eyes filled with confusion, and her lips trembled slightly, pale with shock.

"...I'm fine."

Her gaze suddenly fell on Chu Wuyang's forehead.

The swollen, broken skin from the impact was shocking to behold.

A flicker of guilt and fear crossed her eyes, and she quickly shook her head, her voice hoarse.

"I...I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, I...I didn't see it..."

Chu Wuyang didn't have time to ask in detail.

After helping her sit up, I immediately took out my phone and dialed emergency services, trying to remain as calm as possible.

"There has been a car accident here, two people are injured, the location is—please come as soon as possible."

The ambulance arrived with sirens blaring, and paramedics carried over a stretcher.

They carefully helped Wen Ying into the ambulance.

Chu Wuyang was also required to undergo examination.

Upon arrival at the hospital, the two were taken to the emergency room.

The emergency room was brightly lit, and the smell of disinfectant filled the air.

It's a little dull.

Wen Ying's wounds were quite noticeable, so she was placed on a bed near the window for treatment.

The doctor acted quickly, cleaning the wound on her forehead and stitching it up.

An IV line was then connected, and the patient remained in the hospital for observation.

Chu Wuyang was assigned to the bed next door.

Although her injuries didn't appear to be serious, with only some redness and abrasions on her forehead,

But the doctor's brows furrowed involuntarily during the examination.

Have you been feeling unwell lately?

The doctor looked down at her pulse and then glanced at her complexion.

"For example... occasional dizziness, fatigue, nausea, or drowsiness?"

Chu Wuyang was taken aback and looked up at him.

"Hmm... I think so a little."

She recalled the inexplicable nausea she had experienced in the early mornings of the past few days.

She also often felt sleepy and had no appetite at noon—but at the time she thought it was just the weather.

I've been too tired lately and haven't paid much attention to it.

The doctor hesitated for a moment, his expression becoming even more cautious.

"Your wound isn't serious right now,"

"However, considering the symptoms you mentioned, we recommend that you temporarily refrain from using painkillers or topical medications to avoid putting unnecessary strain on your body."

Chu Wuyang frowned slightly.

"Will it be serious?"

"It's not clear at the moment,"

"But just to be on the safe side, we still recommend having a basic blood test first."

"Don't panic, this is just a routine screening."

The doctor's tone was calm.

Chu Wuyang nodded

"good."

The nurse quickly came over to draw her blood.

Chu Wuyang turned his head to the side.

A dull ache throbbed in his temples, and a wisp of hair clung to his skin with sweat, making him look somewhat haggard.

Wen Ying lay not far away, remaining silent throughout.

The ward fell silent for a moment.

Only the electrocardiogram monitor occasionally emitted a faint "beep" sound.

Just then, a series of hurried footsteps came from outside the ward door.

Then, with a "bang," the door was suddenly pushed open, as if a gust of wind had been brought in.

Jing Min's figure suddenly appeared at the door.

He was tall and wore a dark gray suit, one button undone, and his tie was askew.

They clearly came directly from a conference.

Fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead from running.

His eyes swept across the ward.

The instant I saw Chu Wuyang,

His eyes suddenly darkened.

He strode closer, his gaze falling on the wound on her forehead.

"What happened?"

He leaned down, his brows furrowed, his voice low and carrying a hint of suppressed meaning.

"Where did you get hurt? Does it hurt anywhere?"

"How could there be a car accident? Who did it?"

Chu Wuyang paused for a moment, then shook her head, her tone calm.

"It's nothing, don't make a fuss."

"I just bumped into it when I braked."

Jing Min didn't believe it, his eyes still fixed on that bloodstain for a long time.

His fingertips instinctively reached out to touch her, but stopped as he got close, only whispering,

"What's going on? Why isn't the hospital treating you?"

Where is the doctor?

"I'm waiting for the blood test results. They said... don't take the medication yet."
