Chapter 333 Disassociating Himself from Jing Zong

Jingmin stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window of the study on the third floor, his hands in his pockets, coldly watching the car, fully loaded, slowly drive out of the villa gate and down the mountain road.

The glare from the car window stung his eyes; he lowered them, a cold glint in his eyes.

Slowly and deliberately, he took out his phone and held it to his ear, his voice low and cold.

"The contract isn't finalized yet?"

The tone on the other end of the phone was cautious.

"It has already been sent to Jin Xuan's agency. His agent may have already spoken to him, but we haven't received a definite reply yet."

Jing Min pursed his thin lips, a cold glint in his eyes.

"Won't put pressure on you?"

Upon hearing this, there was an instant silence on the other end of the phone.

Even through the microphone, you could feel the boss's impatience and the oppressive atmosphere.

Yan Zhou held his breath and quickly responded.

"I understand, I will get them to make a decision as soon as possible."

Jing Min chuckled, hung up the phone, and murmured to himself.

"What is this?! Can't you even put things in their proper places?"

After hanging up the phone, Yan Zhou's face was sullen as he slowly exhaled and rubbed his temples.

Seeing this, Li Yan leaned closer and whispered,

"What's wrong? What troublesome matter has President Jing asked you to handle this time?"

Yan Zhou glanced at him sideways, not in a hurry to answer, but asked first.

"Do you know how far Mr. Jing's treatment has progressed?"

Li Yan was taken aback.

"Is Madam handling all of this?"

"Don't worry, Mrs. Jing cares about this even more than Mr. Jing himself does."

Yan Zhou frowned even more deeply and said in a low voice,

"That's not what I'm worried about."

Li Yan raised an eyebrow.

"Then what are you worried about?"

"What did President Jing just say?"

"Is it tricky?"

Yan Zhou slowly shook his head.

"It's not that it's difficult, it's just... don't you find it strange?"

"Did President Jing go to so much trouble and use so many resources just to send a minor celebrity abroad?"

Li Yan scoffed, giving a cold snort.

"What's so strange about it?"

"That guy is always hanging around his wife, he's such an eyesore."

"President Jing has already shown some restraint by giving him a taste of his own medicine."

“In the past, we wouldn’t have gone through all this trouble; we would have just taken action.”

Yan Zhou stared at him intently.

"That's the problem... Compared to the overall approach taken from a forward-looking perspective... do you really think that treatment is feasible?"

Li Yan did not hesitate.

"Of course, Dr. Lina is one of Parker's students. Her skills and loyalty are beyond question. You don't mean to doubt Parker, do you?"

Speak in a low voice during the day,

"It's not that I doubt Parker... it's just that I feel that President Jing... seems to be intentionally restraining himself."

Li Yan raised an eyebrow

"What's the meaning?"

Yan Zhou swallowed hard and lowered his voice.

"It's just that... he seems to know what a 'normal person' should react to, and he tries his best to pretend to be like that... rather than actually becoming normal."

Li Yan was stunned and remained silent for a long time.

"...So complicated? Why would you think that way?"

Yan Zhou took a deep breath.

“It’s not just idle speculation… Do you remember that little assistant at the photo studio last time? The one who deliberately harmed the wife.”

Li Yan nodded.

"Of course I remember."

"Wasn't she brought to the company, interrogated by President Jing personally, and then, fearing she had something to hide, he taught her a lesson, paid her off, and sent her abroad?"

Yan Zhou lowered his head, his voice becoming even deeper.

"You probably don't know this, but I only heard about it later from my subordinates who couldn't keep their mouths shut—President Jing had both of that woman's arms crippled."

Li Yan gasped.

"...How could that be?"

"At most, that woman will be kicked out; isn't that already a lesson learned?"

Yan Zhou gave a bitter laugh.

"Yes, Madam was unharmed. That matter was originally a very minor one, but President Jing's ruthless approach makes it seem like he's venting his anger."

"Moreover, he deliberately kept it from us. Doesn't he realize something's wrong?"

Li Yan's expression gradually became serious.

"So you suspect that President Jing wasn't cured, or even... his condition has worsened? And you don't want those around you to notice?"

Yan Zhou nodded and said in a low voice,

"The key point is that President Jing's decision to send Jin Xian abroad now is not just to keep him away from his wife. It might be that he wants to take the opportunity to... get revenge on him."

Li Yan suddenly stood up.

"No way! If something really happens to Jin Xian abroad and it involves President Jing, and Madam finds out, there will be chaos!"

Yan Zhou was about to nod, wondering how to persuade President Jing to stop.

The next second, however, Li Yan calmly and decisively continued,

"I need to immediately check the entire arrangement to ensure that the process is kept highly confidential and to completely sever any connection with President Jing."

Yan Zhou froze, staring blankly at him.

"……What?"

———

Under the temple corridor, Chu Wuyang watched Jin Xian walk back and forth, greeting the monks and even expertly pointing out directions, and couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

"You seem to know this place quite well," she asked casually.

Jin Xian smiled.

"Hmm, of course."

Chu Wuyang's eyes flickered slightly, as if deep in thought.

"You are... from Haicheng?"

Jin Xian paused, but his smile remained unchanged.

I guess so.

He blinked.

"Didn't I run into you here last year?"

Chu Wuyang's heart skipped a beat, and just as she was about to ask further, a gentle voice came from behind her.

"Yangyang?"

She turned around and saw that it was Yang Jinchu, who had arrived at some point.

She was somewhat surprised.

"You're here too?"
