Night fell, the moon and stars were few.
The bedroom on the second floor of the pear orchard,
Chu Wuyang felt as if she were drifting on the sea, with giant waves lifting her high and then slamming her down.
They kept hitting her; she felt pain, and fear gripped her.
She struggled and waved her arms incessantly, yet a seductive voice always seemed to soothe her, luring her deeper into the depths.
Gradually, she felt her body growing heavier and heavier. She opened her mouth to shout, but her mouth was blocked by a gush of salty seawater.
My lungs felt like they were being squeezed by an invisible force, and I was completely enveloped by the waves, unable to move, until I felt like I was about to suffocate.
She finally managed to open her eyes, and a magnified handsome face came into view. His forehead was covered in fine beads of sweat, dampening his eyebrows.
"Awake? Honey, did you have a nightmare?"
His handsome face pressed down gently against hers, his breath warm against her neck.
Chu Wuyang frowned slightly, about to reach out and push away the person pressing down on her.
The man shifted, raising himself slightly, his gaze glazed over with a hint of bewilderment at being disturbed.
Chu Wuyang was shocked to discover that the two of them were completely naked, and their bodies were tightly joined together.
The man's gaze cleared somewhat, and he chuckled ambiguously, coaxing her.
"Sweetie, you can't stop now, you go to sleep,"
He then kissed the corner of her lips and continued, ignoring the woman beneath him who was pounding her back and cursing.
It was already getting light outside.
The woman on the bed was still lying with her eyes open.
Seeing that the crystal chandelier on the ceiling had finally stopped swaying,
Just then, the bathroom door opened, and a man in a white bathrobe lazily dried his hair, strolling leisurely through the bedroom.
She came to the bedside, still smelling warm and fragrant after her shower, sat down, and tossed aside the towel she was holding.
Leaning down, she placed her hands on either side of the person lying on the middle of the bed, her voice incredibly gentle.
"Are you tired? Let me carry you to the bath,"
He reached out to pull back the covers, but the woman swiftly stopped him, pulling the covers over her head. The man chuckled softly.
"Are you angry? Don't you like it too?"
She was clearly responding,
Chu Wuyang abruptly threw off the covers, sat up, and growled with barely suppressed patience.
"Can you please stop acting crazy in the middle of the night? If you want something better, go find someone outside..."
She swallowed the rest of her words as the man covered her mouth with his large hand.
Jing Min leaned closer to her, turned her cheek, and said in a cold, serious voice.
"Honey, you can't just say things carelessly. You have to take responsibility for what you say."
After speaking, he gently released his hand and moved it to the woman's cheek, stroking it over her slightly furrowed brow and lightly rubbing her bright red lips with his thumb.
He savored it carefully; it was soft, smooth, and alluring. Before her small mouth could open, he pinched her chin and pressed his lips against hers again.
This time, I left without looking back.
Just as Chu Wuyang was about to lift the covers for a tender moment, she warily gripped the corner of the blanket tightly.
"What? Go back to your room."
Chu Wuyang shooed him away, and Jing Min felt a chill run down his spine, forgetting that they were still in separate rooms.
He automatically ignored what she said.
He was about to lie down when he uttered each word carefully.
"We are a legally married couple,"
This means he has the right to enter any space she is in.
Chu Wuyang got out of bed and went straight to the bathroom, leaving behind the words, "That won't be the case for long..."
In the walk-in closet, Jingmin leaned against the doorframe, gazing at her with a wistful expression.
What did you mean by what you just said?
Chu Wuyang opened the clothes drawer and casually said
It means exactly what it says.
I haven't heard those two words since last time, but what she said conveyed a similar meaning.
Sparks flew from his head, but he forcefully suppressed them.
"Did I hurt you just now? I just missed you so much. I'll definitely be more careful next time."
All he could think of was that he was perfectly fine but got angry again because of what had just happened.
After saying that, he tried to hug the person in front of him, but she dodged him. Chu Wuyang then brought out a large suitcase.
"Aren't you going to take a nap? Why are you packing your bags?"
A sudden, inexplicable panic gripped my heart. It was absurd, really, since the north building was clearly their home.
But it seemed like it was just a hotel where she was staying temporarily; the clothes inside...
Although he provided her with everything she needed, she hardly touched it; once she left, there wasn't a trace of it.
On the contrary, her presence is felt everywhere here.
Chu Wuyang gently touched the suitcase and said calmly.
Do I have to report everything I do to you now?
Jing Min ignored her sharp words and answered for her.
"You want to go back to New York? I've already revised your thesis for you, and your defense isn't even due yet. Why are you in such a hurry to go back now?"
"I've made all the arrangements. I'll go back with you."
"Let's come back together again, and never be apart again," Jingmin added in his heart.
Having said that, he snatched the clothes from her hands in a fit of pique and put them back in their place. Chu Wuyang couldn't resist his strength.
After several rounds, Jingmin still wouldn't let go; the two remained locked in a childish, silent standoff.
Chu Wuyang, who was the first to give in, let go, closed her eyes in exhaustion, and said weakly.
"The engagement party lasted for two weeks. After the cruise ship docked, I went straight back to New York, which was perfect."
Upon hearing this, Jingmin suddenly understood, turned to the side, and gave her a light, delighted kiss. So that's how it is.
Originally, I wanted to accompany her to her thesis defense and stay there for a while, and also make up for the honeymoon we never had.
He has already arranged his work schedule in advance, and it's quite packed; he probably won't have time to accompany her onto the ship.
He was somewhat reluctant to leave.
"Are we boarding the ship tonight?"
Chu Wuyang nodded perfunctorily, patted his arm to signal him to let go, and continued tidying up.
