She blurted out nervously, "..."
"What's wrong with Jin Xuan?"
"Is he seriously injured?"
Jin Qilin blinked, feigning innocence, and spoke in a flat tone.
"Why don't you go and see for yourself, Miss Chu?"
Yang Jinchu's expression changed drastically as he looked at Chu Wuyang.
The unspoken words clearly indicated a desire to stop.
Chu Wuyang whispered,
"Please tell Jingmin that I'll be back soon, thank you."
Yang Jinchu looked at her, his eyes filled with worry and sorrow.
She had already turned around and walked towards the black car parked not far away.
Jin Qilin raised an eyebrow and followed.
A faint smile played at the corners of her lips, like an elegant snake concealing venom.
He reached out to open the back door, but it was locked.
The car window slowly rolled down.
Chu Wuyang sat in the back row, head tilted to the side, his face cold and his eyes indifferent.
"Young Master Qilin, please make do with a seat in the front row."
"I'm a bit of a germaphobe and not used to sitting with snakes and rats."
Jin Qilin's smile remained unchanged, but his fingers had subtly tightened their grip.
Chu Wuyang paused, her gaze sweeping across his face.
"And... you and Jingmin? How are you alike?"
"If you ask me, it doesn't resemble it at all?"
Jin Qilin raised an eyebrow: "Oh?"
Chu Wuyang's lips curled into a cold smile.
"His sharpness lies hidden in his bones, while you are a soft knife laced with honey."
His words were spoken lightly, yet they were like a needle pricking an old wound.
A glint flashed in Jin Qilin's eyes, followed by a soft chuckle.
It seemed like she was genuinely amused.
"No wonder my grandfather said that to keep Jingmin in check, you would first have to be able to cut yourself in the back, otherwise you would cut him in the back."
As he said this, he had already walked around to the front, opened the car door, and sat down.
He still lingered on her out of the corner of his eye.
