Chapter 403 I'll listen to you

The Pagani came to a steady stop in front of the sanatorium, the car dipped slightly, and the doors slowly opened from the inside.

Sunlight shone on the leather shoes as the man, his expression as cold and sharp as a blade, stepped out of the car.

Chu Wuyang subconsciously took a half step back.

Jin Xian opened her mouth, but before she could speak, the person's gaze swept over them, not even sparing them a glance.

It's like sweeping away an insignificant speck of dust in the air.

I brushed past her.

He didn't even lift his eyelids.

Bodyguards followed in orderly ranks, their black suits forming silent, high walls that completely separated him from her.

It's like drawing a line between two worlds, cold, clear, and insurmountable.

The first dance of the sun felt slightly cool on my fingertips.

Jin Xuan gritted his teeth.

"Holy crap, is he blind?"

He was about to rush forward to argue when a hand grabbed him.

But the next second, a gentle female voice broke the silence.

"Huh? Miss Chu?"

It is Mo Sangyu.

The light gray haute couture suit accentuated her gentle and elegant demeanor as she stepped out of the passenger seat.

Standing in the sunlight, her brows and eyes held a hint of embarrassment, yet she maintained a perfectly polite smile.

Jingmin gentlemanly opened the car door for her.

His hand rested on the edge of the car roof, but his gaze had already turned to the entrance of the sanatorium, as if she were merely a responsibility he had to fulfill.

Mo Sangyu's attention was drawn to the figure on the other side.

Chu Wuyang stood there,

A handsome young man was standing close to her, with a lively and unrestrained temperament, bright eyebrows, and a fierce protectiveness in his eyes—his arm was draped over Chu Wuyang's back, as if he knew her very well.

A barely perceptible hint of surprise flashed in Mo Sangyu's eyes; her smile paused slightly before quickly returning to normal.

"What a coincidence, I didn't expect to meet you here again so soon."

She paused, her tone still gentle, but unable to hide the probing in her voice.

"Who is this...?"

His gaze swept towards Jin Xian.

Jin Xian raised an eyebrow and whispered in Chu Wuyang's ear,

"She's...his current girlfriend?"

"Um"

Chu Wuyang glanced at him.

"His name is Jin Xuan, and he's my... friend."

It's still inconvenient to publicize Jin Xuan's relationship with her.

Mo Sangyu paused slightly as she watched the interaction between the two, then glanced up at Jing Min.

I noticed that his attention wasn't on them; he seemed to be talking to the people around him, and the two people opposite him were completely out of his sight.

The smile on her lips remained polite, yet carried a hint of complexity.

"Miss Chu, you seem to have quite a few friends."

She spoke with a half-smile, then glanced around and asked casually.

"Hey, where's Mr. Yang?"

Her voice was gentle, but her tone carried an inexplicable probing.

Chu Wuyang understood the implication in his words, but was too lazy to delve into it, and answered truthfully as before.

“He had to leave early because of something urgent. Jin Xian came with me to visit Grandma Jiang.”

Mo Sangyu nodded slightly after hearing this, gave a thoughtful "Oh," and then changed the subject, her tone already shifting to that of the hostess.

"Miss Chu, you're so thoughtful. Why are you still standing at the door?"

At this point, Jin Xian's face darkened. Thinking of the arrogant attitude of those men in black suits earlier, his anger flared up, and he was about to open his mouth to retort.

Chu Wuyang stopped him in time, giving him a stern look while maintaining her polite and courteous tone.

"There was a slight misunderstanding with Mr. Jing's security earlier, so..."

After listening, Mo Sangyu immediately responded, her tone gentle.

"I'm so sorry, but guests are guests. How can we keep those who come to offer condolences out of the door?"

"That's really rude, don't you think, Ah Min?"

She spoke naturally, then subtly shifted the focus to Jing Min, as if seeking his opinion, or perhaps subtly hinting at something.

Upon hearing this, Jing Min looked over but didn't say anything. He simply glanced at the security guard in front of him.

The men in black suits reacted instantly, their expressions changed, and they silently stepped aside, a stark contrast to their previous attitude.

Chu Wuyang watched this scene, feeling a mix of emotions he couldn't quite describe.

Jing Min and Mo Sangyu stood together, their demeanor natural and their cooperation seamless. Not even a glance from them needed any further explanation—this kind of relationship could not have been cultivated in a day or two.

She suddenly didn't want to stay any longer.

I don't want to see the intimacy between them, and I don't want to see him stand up for others.

"It's getting late, it's about time to pay our respects."

“You are relatives, it’s not appropriate for us to keep you.”

"It's enough that Grandma Jiang knows we came; that's enough to show our appreciation."

As she spoke, she turned around and pulled Jin Xian away.

Let's go.

Jin Xuan was still completely confused.

"Huh? We're not going in? We don't want to—"

Mo Sangyu suddenly spoke, her tone gentle yet leaving no room for refusal.

"Miss Chu, please wait a moment."

She smiled slightly, her gaze falling on Chu Wuyang's injured arm.

"I'm not very familiar with your customs here, but the way we treat guests is generally the same."

"I am already very sorry for the security guard's rudeness just now."

“Now that we see you've been injured because of their inappropriate behavior, we can't just pretend we didn't see it.”

Her tone was sincere, yet her words were perfectly eloquent.

"Please come inside with us, Miss Chu and this gentleman. We can at least have someone bandage you up to prevent infection."

What do you think, Ah-Min?

After she finished speaking, her gaze fell on Jing Min.

Jing Min followed her gaze and looked over, his eyes landing on Chu Wuyang's bloodstained abrasion.

His handsome brows furrowed almost imperceptibly, and his voice fell softly.

"I'll listen to you."

As soon as he finished speaking, he took a step forward and walked towards the entrance of the sanatorium.
