Chapter 414 Coincidence

"Not to mention that just a few days ago Miss Chu was swearing she would never see him again, how come it's only been a short time?"

"Miss Chu has broken her promise again?"

Chu Wuyang turned her head away.

"On behalf of the Chu family..."

She truly hadn't expected the chamber of commerce event to be held for Jing Min, and then she saw her again.

Jing Min stared at her, his tone becoming more playful.

"Representing the Chu family?"

"That is indeed a valid reason,"

"But, as far as I know, those who attend these kinds of business association events are usually the actual heads of the companies, and Miss Chu isn't the one in charge of the Chu family."

What are you trying to say?

Jing Min said with a half-smile,

"I must say, Miss Chu's tactics of playing hard to get are becoming increasingly sophisticated. First, she swears that she will never see him again, then she creates opportunities to meet under the guise of legitimate work, and finally achieves her goal of seducing him into bed."

Before Chu Wuyang could refute,

Jingmin continued,

"That's true. It's not hard to understand why someone like Miss Chu, who would do anything for the Chu family and for their own interests, would engage in such seductive behavior."

"After all, I've already made it clear that I'll take the Chu family's assets. Miss Chu's actions, while despicable, are also incredibly clever; no man could refuse them."

Chu Wuyang thought he was talking nonsense, but she still explained.

"Chu Xi had something come up at the last minute, so she asked me to come in her place at the Chamber of Commerce."

Jing Min gazed at her with his handsome eyes, his gaze deep and unwavering.

"Oh, what a coincidence? Or is Miss Chu deliberately trying to get attention?"

Chu Wuyang felt utterly exhausted. Jing Min's tone carried a hint of mockery, as if he had already seen through her clumsy acting and was convinced that she was deliberately seducing him.

Believe it or not, that's really how it is.

After saying that, she didn't care what Jingmin was thinking. Now that they had gotten together in a muddled way, there was no point in explaining anymore.

I just secretly thought that I must sever all ties with them in the future.

She threw back the covers, revealing her naked body under Jing Min's gaze, intending to wash herself first and escape from here.

But as soon as she landed, her legs went weak and she fell forward due to inertia.

She instinctively threw herself into the arms of the man standing by the bed, and instantly her nose was filled with his familiar, cool fragrance.

Startled, Chu Wuyang hurriedly pushed the man away, but in her haste, she almost fell to the side.

The man's warm hand firmly supported her, but the burning sensation made Chu Wuyang's heart burn. When she tried to push him away again, he remained unmoved.

Chu Wuyang looked up and saw that the man's eyes were full of mockery, and his tone was cold.

"How can anyone believe your explanation based on Miss Chu's behavior?"

Chu Wuyang moved her lips, but no sound came out.

Jing Min had already formed an opinion that she had ulterior motives, and no matter how she explained, it would only make things worse.

"Let me go!"

Jingmin's amused smile

"Is Miss Chu sure she can stand firm?"

He spoke casually.

"Last night, Miss Chu also pretended to be drunk and dizzy, unable to stand steadily..."

He paused for a moment, as if deliberately reminding someone of something.

"Oh, Miss Chu, you saw it, didn't you?"

Chu Wuyang picked up the bathrobe from the sofa without turning around.

"What?"

Jingmin's voice came through, not loud, but every word resonated in our ears.

"My intimacy with my wife was interrupted by Miss Chu..."

Chu Wuyang stopped in her tracks as she headed for the bathroom. She remembered that scene; the two of them hadn't even waited to get on the elevator back to their room before they started whispering sweet nothings at the elevator entrance.

The visual impact of that scene was so strong that Chu Wuyang could still vividly remember it after she lost consciousness. She thought she didn't care, but Jing Min's words were like a heavy hammer blow to her.

It shattered all her pretense of strength.

She unconsciously clenched her fists and turned around.

"I was indeed drunk last night, and it was just a coincidence that I stumbled upon this. I'm truly sorry if I disturbed you,"

Jing Min chuckled softly, a laugh tinged with mockery, as if laughing at her clumsy attempt at feigning ignorance.

"Oh? A coincidence?"

He approached slowly, his eyes cold and piercing.

The elevator behind us just happened to be broken.

"Ms. Chu also happened to be unable to contact any staff members."

"And even more coincidentally—just as my wife left, the elevator here suddenly started working again on its own."

"With so many 'just right' things coming together, doesn't Miss Chu think it looks too fake?"

It's fake, so incredibly fake.

Chu Wuyang stood there, stunned, as if her mind had been violently struck—

She vaguely remembered someone calling her name; it was Mo Sangyu.

She said she was in charge of the club and offered to help call someone to check the elevator; it was her duty.

Perhaps due to dizziness, she remembered taking out her phone, but she couldn't dial any numbers.

Fortunately, Mo Sangyu took the initiative to help dial the number, but... the call didn't go through.

What happened next?

She tried hard to recall—in the hazy fragments of memory, Mo Sangyu said that Jing Min was also drunk, and she had to go find someone.

Then, Mo Sangyu left.

And then? She really couldn't remember.

She only remembered that someone seemed to help her into the elevator, and when she opened her eyes again, she was lying naked on the bed.

With so many coincidences, she really couldn't explain it.

Everything is a perfect closed loop.

If the elevator suddenly malfunctioned, it was somewhat understandable, but ironically, the elevator "just happened" to return to normal right after Mo Sangyu left.

No matter how you look at it, it seems like she, as the person in charge, deliberately arranged for someone to cooperate and intentionally created a trap.

All these coincidences piled up together certainly make one wonder.

Unfortunately, Chu Xi was abroad handling company affairs, so she temporarily stepped in to take charge.
