Chapter 415 No Regrets

"Miss Chu's various seductive actions are all aimed at protecting the Chu family company, aren't they?"

Jing Min's thin lips curled into a cold smile.

"Now that Miss Chu has witnessed the Jin family's grandeur and power firsthand, it's understandable that she might harbor desires,"

"After all, whether the Chu family's business lives or dies... is just a matter of a word from me."

"A woman as mercenary as you, who could have had things within her grasp before, now has to seduce men to get them. The difference is so huge... Don't you regret it?"

To be honest, Chu Wuyang didn't regret it at all, not even a little bit, despite watching his personality become gloomy, ruthless, and unpredictable.

She doesn't regret it!

Now he is alive and well, wielding great power and influence, with a beautiful wife in his arms.

Perhaps the only shame is that I suffered a terrible loss because of her back then.

His body was covered with terrifying, gruesome old wounds.

This clearly demonstrates that he crawled out of a pile of corpses during those five years in the Jin family, and all the bloody battles he experienced were blamed on her.

It's very likely that every scar is etched with his hatred.

Every painful night he spent licking his wounds in the hospital bed, he thought about how he wanted her to tear him apart and devour him alive.

Now that he wants revenge and is targeting her, she understands, but she won't foolishly and passively accept it.

She didn't think she had done anything wrong back then, even if it was just her one-sided belief that she was "doing it for his own good," she didn't think she was wrong.

She always believed that life was paramount, and that as long as one was alive, there was still hope.

Even if she could do it all over again, she would make the same choice.

Even the occasional fleeting "regret"... is nothing more than weighing whether it was worth it and one's feelings for him.

Therefore, there is no truth to his claim of "regreed because of his current power," nor is it possible that he would engage in seductive behavior because he wanted to harm the Chu family.

He wants to take over the company? Fine.

But she never considered exchanging her body for anything; she would only confront things head-on in the business world, even if it meant fighting a losing battle, rather than offering herself up for nothing.

Because that would be tantamount to her admitting her mistake and feeling guilty.

She looked at Jing Min and confessed.

"If you're referring to things from the past... I don't feel like I have any regrets."

"No regrets?"

Jing Min's eyes dimmed for a moment as he murmured the same sentence, then a deep, unreadable emotion flickered in his eyes.

"Indeed, Miss Chu has always been clear about her goals and detached from emotions, so there's really nothing to regret."

"You betrayed me back then because you were threatened by the old man and were afraid of death, so you didn't expect that I would come back alive... and even stand at the top, right?"

"You don't think that what happened back then... is just going to be forgotten, do you?"

Sure enough, he came back wanting revenge.

Having just assumed power in the Jin family, it would have been best for him to remain in the chiefdom to stabilize the situation. But instead, he was so eager to return and reclaim everything that was rightfully his—his former assets, honors, and status—he would take them all back.

Those who hurt him...cannot escape either.

Chu Wuyang bit her lip, her tone strained.

"I never intended to use my body to get you to spare the Chu family; I just hope you won't accidentally hurt anyone else."

"Oh, you went to great lengths to seduce me, but your goal wasn't just to let the Chu family go. Does Miss Chu have some deeper motive?"

Chu Wuyang tried to push him away, but couldn't.

"I have no ulterior motives towards you; those so-called coincidences are just that—coincidences."

Jingmin moved closer, his tone casual.

"Deliberately withholding information?"

"I never expected you to be such a master of playing hard to get?"

"I'm not playing hard to get, get out of my way."

Chu Wuyang was cornered by the man, and the two were so close, in an ambiguous position. She pushed him, unsure whether it was because the man was too strong or because her hangover had subsided.

In short, it has no deterrent effect whatsoever, and instead, it's like what men perceive—a push-and-pull approach.

Jing Min chuckled softly, slowly bending down to whisper in her ear. Before Chu Wuyang could even flinch, the man had already given her a fleeting, symbolic kiss before pulling away.

Chu Wuyang heard his teasing voice.

"Chu Wuyang, although I'm sold on your act, there's a limit to everything. Greed is like a snake trying to swallow an elephant."

Chu Wuyang was almost laughing in exasperation. What was all this nonsense?

"I don't know what you're talking about,"

Jing Min glanced at her indifferently, a hint of mockery in his eyes, as if watching her deliberately put on an act, casting a long line to catch a bigger fish.

He seemed to have completely lost his patience, his tone cold and merciless as he exposed their lies.

"She seduced me not for the Chu family company, but simply because she coveted Mrs. Jing's position."

"Chu Wuyang, I advise you to face reality—at most, I can only regard you as a lover."

"Don't even think about anything else."

Chu Wuyang was stunned, as if struck by some absurd word, her eyes filled with disbelief.

"You want me to be your mistress?"

Jing Min looked at her as if he could see right through her.

"Yes, I must admit, your body is very attractive to me."

“You’ve gone to great lengths and achieved your goal—I’ve slept with you. Apart from the position of Mrs. Jing, I allow you to make some ‘reasonable requests’ within reasonable limits.”

He leaned down, his voice so low it was almost whispering in her ear, his tone like that of bestowing a favor.

"For example... if you want me to let the Chu family company go, that's not impossible."

"However, during the time I'm staying in the country, you'll have to be available whenever I call to meet my physical needs."

"Also, from now on, you have to keep your distance from all men around you, and you must cut ties with your so-called 'boyfriend' immediately."

He paused, his smile utterly cold.

"I don't like it when others touch even a tiny bit of what's mine."

Did you hear me clearly?

He was entitled to make his demands; it wasn't a matter of negotiation, but a straightforward notification.

Chu Wuyang went from being shocked to being so angry she laughed.

"Jingmin, are you sick in the head?"

Does your wife know you're having an affair behind her back?

Jing Min said nonchalantly,

"Sang Yu is generous and considerate. She knows that I only have her in my heart and won't care about such things. Other women are just for entertainment, and she won't mind them."

Chu Wuyang stared at him blankly, as if she were seeing this person for the first time.

How can he so easily make excuses for his scumbag behavior?

To justify betrayal so brazenly and to trample on one's wife's generosity and consideration as if it were perfectly natural.

She felt only irony and unfamiliarity.

"Miss Chu, why are you looking at me like that? Isn't it normal for someone of my status to have a few lovers on the side?"

He spoke casually.

Several lovers?

Chu Wuyang almost thought he had misheard.

She truly had no idea he had become such a scoundrel!

All I ever wanted was for him to live well, that was enough.

Even if he remarries, she won't think anything of it.

Seeing his personality change and imagining the bloodshed he might have endured, the initial pity I felt vanished, leaving only anger at his depravity and decay.
