Chapter 419 Check-in Phone Call

When she came out of the shower, Jingmin was no longer in the bedroom.

A brand new women's outfit had appeared on the sofa sometime during the night. It was off-white with a high neck and a soft skirt. The underwear was even provided, and the price tag was still attached.

Chu Wuyang didn't think much of it. The high collar covered the marks on her neck perfectly, and the size was just right, so she put it on directly.

She picked up her bag and prepared to leave, but as soon as she stepped out of the bedroom, she stopped in her tracks.

In the living room,

Jing Min stood with his back to her in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, his tall and slender figure bathed in the morning sunlight, exuding a cold and noble aura.

Despite having just experienced a complete loss of emotional control, he has now regained his composure, his aura as calm as ever.

He wore a well-tailored dark gray suit, clean and crisp without a single wrinkle, with the cuffs casually rolled up and his wristwatch flashing a cold light.

He had one hand in his pocket, his posture relaxed, his expression calm, and he was patiently listening to the phone call.

His tone was soft and gentle, occasionally responding in a low voice, his expression natural.

It's just like whispering sweet nothings to your loved one when you wake up in the morning.

Chu Wuyang stood by the door, stunned for a moment.

She's been showering for so long, and she still hasn't finished her phone call?

Mo Sangyu's phone call just now was like a bucket of cold water being poured over her, completely waking her up.

If she were to stay now, even just to sit down and have a meal, it would be a betrayal of morality and a trampling of her self-respect.

She turned to leave.

Jing Min seemed to sense something, slowly turned around, and glanced at her.

His brow furrowed, a barely perceptible displeasure at being disturbed.

"Eat breakfast first."

His tone was indifferent, yet it brooked no refusal.

Chu Wuyang followed his gaze and noticed that the table was already full of breakfast.

The milk was warm, the porridge was the kind she used to drink, and even the pickles were served in small dishes.

But she had no appetite at all.

Jingmin looked at her and calmly gave her instructions over the phone.

"Eat breakfast first, don't wait for me."

...I knew he wouldn't be this considerate.

Well, not really, it's just that I don't treat her like that anymore.

A soft, gentle female voice came from the other end of the phone. Chu Wuyang's throat suddenly went dry, and his stomach churned as if something was blocking it.

Mo Sangyu: "Okay, I'm eating now. Did you have business to attend to last night?"

Jing Min remained expressionless: "Hmm."

Mo Sangyu: "So, are you going home later?"

Jing Minqing responded softly, "Back."

Mo Sangyu: "Okay, then I'll wait for you."

After the call ended, the conversation between the two, though brief, revealed a rare tacit understanding and patience.

There were no sweet words, but rather a tenderness and familiarity that came from years of getting to know each other.

An old married couple?

That's not an exaggeration.

They've known each other for four years and been married for three, longer than she and Jingmin's marriage.

Mo Sangyu was there for him during the most difficult days.

She always stood by his side through those dark abysses, helping him climb out step by step.

Thinking about it this way, the feelings between them have long surpassed love; it's more like an intimate bond, like blood ties.

Chu Wuyang stood still, his knuckles clenching unconsciously, his palms already covered in a layer of cold sweat.

She had considered the relationship between Jing Min and Mo Sangyu.

But when you actually hear such a calm and unhurried phone call, as gentle and peaceful as everyday life,

It still felt like I'd been slowly struck in the heart by a blunt object.

It wasn't pain, it was a dull ache, an indescribable aches and pains, like a breath stuck in your throat that you couldn't swallow.

She even felt a pang of shame.

Mo Sangyu is his wife who stood by him through the lowest point of his life, the one who never abandoned him when he was down on his luck and accompanied him all the way to where he is today.

Now, it's just a phone call to check up on her, but she's like a third party who can't be seen in the light of day, standing silently in the corner, even her breathing is carefully controlled.

At that moment, shame, guilt, and resentment surged up, overwhelming her and making it hard to breathe.

"How much longer are you going to stand there? Come and have breakfast."

After hanging up the phone, Jingmin sat elegantly at the dining table, looking at her.

Chu Wuyang stared at the culprit before him, utterly bewildered. Why didn't he cherish the harmonious relationship he shared with Mo Sangyu?

Is it really necessary to humiliate her like this just for revenge?

Doesn't he know that this is also harming Mo Sanyu?
