He saw her difficulties and considered a way out for her.
She even subtly suggested an escape route that coincided with her plan.
At that moment, a part of Chu Wuyang's heart felt relieved.
But the atmosphere that had just eased,
My call was interrupted in an instant.
She answered the phone, and a lazy yet fiery voice came from the other end—
"Staying for so long?"
"What's there to talk about, so reluctant to part?"
Chu Wuyang glanced at Jian Zhou and pointed to her phone.
Jian Zhou nodded slightly.
She retreated outside the ward, walked to a quiet corridor, and said coldly.
"Jingmin, don't go too far."
She came to a hospital ward, not a prison, so why restrict her visiting hours?
The other party chuckled softly.
"After you've spent time with him, it's my turn, right?"
"I've sent you the hotel room number."
"What hotel? Aren't you at the hospital?"
She frowned.
"You can stay in the hospital if you want,"
His tone was drawn out, half-truthful and half-lieful.
"However, the soundproofing isn't good."
"If you don't mind, I'm fine with it."
Chu Wuyang's expression instantly turned cold.
She finally understood the hidden meaning behind his words.
They are utterly shameless and make no attempt to hide it.
He is still hospitalized.
Mo Sangyu probably stayed up all night with her last night; they might have even rolled around on the hospital sofa.
Now it's her turn.
Chu Wuyang felt nauseous and wanted to vomit.
"I'm busy."
Jing Min scoffed coldly.
"You canceled your business trip today, didn't you?"
She opened her mouth to find another excuse, but he beat her to it.
Do you know what 'available on call' means? You can't refuse.
"Tell me, hospital or hotel?"
Chu Wuyang's knuckles were pale, and he was clutching his phone, his breathing somewhat disordered.
After a long silence, she gritted her teeth and spoke in a barely audible voice.
"……hotel."
Hang up the phone,
Chu Wuyang pushed open the ward door,
Jianzhou kindly reminds you,
Is something the matter?
"It's getting late, let's head back."
Chu Wuyang hesitated for a moment, her gaze falling on his leg in a cast.
"Are you alright on your own? Where's the caregiver?"
Jian Zhou chuckled softly.
"No caregiver needed."
“My friends are all very loyal. They said they would share my troubles and insisted on coming over to keep me company that night. I couldn’t refuse.”
Chu Wuyang paused in her action of standing up to grab her bag, then sat back down in the chair.
Jian Zhou was slightly taken aback.
Before she could speak, she whispered...
"I'm fine."
She sat there lingering, clearly not wanting to leave.
"I'll wait here until your friend arrives before I leave."
"What if you want a drink of water later, and there's no one to lend a hand?"
Jian Zhou nodded and didn't try to persuade him further.
As night deepened, the lights outside the window were dappled.
Chu Wuyang sat in the chair and yawned several times, his eyelids starting to droop.
Jian Zhou spoke up upon seeing this.
"Yangyang, it's too late, why don't you go back and rest?"
Chu Wuyang looked up, her eyes hazy, and glanced around.
Has the person arrived?
Jian Zhou said calmly,
"They might have been delayed on the way."
Chu Wuyang nodded.
"Oh, then wait a little longer."
Jian Zhou couldn't bring himself to tell her to leave.
"Yangyang, the room next door is empty. Why don't you go lie down there for a while?"
"Don't force yourself if you're too tired. I'll wake you up when my friend arrives."
Chu Wuyang yawned and nodded in agreement.
She went into the next ward and sure enough, there was a clean and tidy little bed.
She fell into a deep sleep shortly after her head hit the pillow.
She didn't know how much time had passed when she suddenly woke up from her dream.
It was a dense barrage of kisses—landing relentlessly on her forehead, the corners of her eyes, and her lips, his breath hot and scalding, carrying a long-suppressed desire.
She paused for a second, opened her eyes, and met a pair of very close black eyes.
