"Are you sure you don't need to go to the hospital for a checkup?"
Yang Jinchu took off his stained trench coat, revealing a silver-gray satin shirt underneath. The collar was neat, and he wore a dark gray plaid tie of the same color, which made him look gentle and refined.
But beneath its gentle exterior,
The cold light reflected from the silver knife and fork in his hand swept across his cool profile, adding a rare sharpness to his expression.
His porcelain-white hands, where he gripped the knife, showed slight redness and swelling at the knuckles.
Yet he remained focused on cutting the steak on his plate, his movements quiet and meticulous.
After cutting the food, he moved his plate to Chu Wuyang's side and spoke softly.
"No need, are you hungry? Let's eat first."
Chu Wuyang did not refuse, even though she had been extremely stressed all morning.
She was indeed hungry.
Yang Jinchu knew her tastes very well.
The medium-rare steak had a substantial texture and was cut to the perfect size.
The outer layer is dark brown, the inside is light pink, and it is full of juice.
She ate several bites before looking up and asking.
"Ah Jin, what a coincidence!"
When did you return to China?
"Didn't Chu Xi say that you have almost no business in the country?"
As he spoke, before he had even finished swallowing the beef, a little juice had gotten on the corner of his lips.
"I thought you wouldn't come back?"
Yang Jinchu casually pulled out a tissue and bent down slightly to help her wipe her face.
Chu Wuyang paused slightly, but did not dodge.
Because Yang Jinchu stopped before he could touch her mouth.
As if the scene had frozen for a moment, Yang Jinchu's tone became slightly somber.
"Do it yourself."
"oh."
She took the tissue and wiped herself clean.
Yang Jinchu's voice trailed off softly, with a faint, lingering tone.
"You...really don't want to lose sight of me?"
Chu Wuyang subconsciously shook his head.
"no."
Yang Jinchu raised an eyebrow and slowly replied.
"So... someone doesn't want you to see me?"
Chu Wuyang was taken aback and hurriedly denied it.
"no."
She instinctively wanted to avoid the topic, so she changed her tone and hurriedly said...
I didn't have a chance to thank you yet.
"Thank you for arriving in time."
"That Chu Han is a madman, I have nothing to do with him."
"He's only causing trouble like a headless fly because of Ah He's matter."
Don't take those words of nonsense to heart.
Her explanation was somewhat weak.
After all, Chu Han had the photos in his hands, which confirmed some of the facts, even if there were hidden circumstances.
Yang Jinchu's eyes held a scrutinizing gaze, but he didn't ask any further questions.
He took a document from the side and pushed it in front of her.
"You don't need to explain too much, I know you can stick to your principles."
"Take a look first, this is the reason I returned to China."
Chu Wuyang lowered his head and opened the document, his expression subtly changing, complex and difficult to describe.
Yang Jinchu looked at her, his voice low and deep.
"I understand that you don't want me to have a conflict with Jingmin."
"But he forced you to do those...morally depraved things while he was married, which is no longer a matter of bottom line."
He paused, his gaze darkening slightly.
"If you're in trouble, why don't you come to me?"
Chu Wuyang unconsciously clenched the paper, the edges of the document wrinkling slightly from her grip.
The forged identity document was flawless and arrived just in time, which was exactly what she needed.
Yang Jinchu saw through her dilemma, and his voice slowly fell.
"I know everything."
"The men you've been in contact with recently have all run into trouble. It's obvious who's behind it."
His tone was firm, even carrying a hint of undisguised protectiveness.
"Yangyang, I am not Jingmin, a man you can treat at will."
"You don't need to worry about implicating me."
Before the words were finished,
Chu Wuyang's phone suddenly rang.
She glanced at Yang Jinchu subconsciously.
It's true—speak of the devil, and he appears.
Why would he call him at this point?
She originally thought that Jing Min had called Mo Sangyu over in the morning to embarrass her in public, and since he hadn't contacted her after she sneaked away, she must have escaped unscathed.
But I never expected them to come knocking on my door again?
She couldn't help but wonder what new way he had come up with to humiliate her.
Her heart tightened, and she immediately hung up the phone.
Yang Jinchu's gaze darkened.
"It was him?"
Chu Wuyang did not deny it.
Yang Jinchu's expression turned cold, his tone suppressing his anger.
"Did he hire someone to follow and monitor you again?"
"He's been doing this for years, restricting your friendships. Now that he has a new family, does he still want to force you like this?"
"Yangyang, are you still going to stay and fulfill his wishes, willing to be his mistress without any status, to be played with at will?"
Chu Wuyang looked up, her gaze inadvertently falling on the documents. A quick glance revealed the flight dates clearly listed.
It will happen next Wednesday.
So fast?
She was momentarily stunned, yet a strange emotion welled up inside her.
She herself wasn't sure what she was waiting for.
Are we waiting for her to go find Mo Sangyu?
She hadn't even decided whether to go to Mo Sangyu to restrain Jing Min from harassing her anymore.
Or we should just be honest and admit it, hoping she will back out on her own.
Because judging from Jingmin's actions, she always had a misconception.
He seemed completely indifferent to Mo Sangyu.
She was a sensitive person and could sense Jingmin's complex emotions of love and hate towards her.
She even thought that if they didn't have such an awkward identity, perhaps they could sit down and properly clear up these misunderstandings.
The "betrayal" from back then, and the truth about the child, can actually be explained clearly.
