In the hospital ward, Chu Wuyang's wounds had been bandaged.
"Click—!"
The ward door was suddenly pushed open, the heavy impact making the walls tremble slightly.
Ye Yuhe was so startled that she almost dropped the water glass in her hand, and the porcelain glass collided with the glass with a crisp sound.
"Jing...you're here?"
Before she could finish speaking, the chill made her throat tighten.
The man stood at the door, exuding a chilling aura, his eyes swirling with unspoken tension.
Jing Min's gaze swept from the top of Chu Wuyang's head to her toes, pausing for a moment in her eyes to make sure she was alright, before moving on to the diagnosis report on the table and carefully reading it.
Chu Wuyang was not surprised to see him.
After all, she already knew that he had people around her.
But his face was colder than usual, so cold it looked like snow was about to fall.
She spoke softly, as if trying to soothe her.
"The doctor said it's nothing serious, just a very small wound, and it's all been treated."
Jing Min didn't look up, his fingertips paused slightly, and he slammed the diagnosis report back onto the table.
The next moment, with a stern face, he bent down and picked her up from the hospital bed.
A sudden action,
Chu Wuyang frowned.
I instinctively pushed him.
The man's brows furrowed even more deeply in an instant, his gaze so cold and sharp it seemed capable of freezing the air itself.
He glared at her condescendingly.
The force in her hands was forcefully suppressed.
Until Jing Min, carrying Chu Wuyang, disappeared through the door,
Ye Yuhe belatedly exhaled, her palms clammy with cold sweat.
That's terrifying.
Jing Min's face looked like he could kill someone at any moment.
In the passenger seat, Chu Wuyang glanced at the man.
His handsome face was taut, his thin lips pressed into a straight line, as if he were suppressing all his words behind his teeth.
She opened her mouth several times, but ultimately swallowed it back down.
She paused slightly only when the car turned onto the familiar mountain road.
She had walked this road countless times.
As dusk approached, the winding mountain road stretched out beneath the headlights, the car moving at a steady pace.
As the white villa came into view, the car came to a smooth stop.
Chu Wuyang finally came to his senses.
"How...did we get here?"
The man's voice was low and heavy, uttering only two words.
"go home."
Before she could ask any further questions, Jingmin had already unbuckled his seatbelt, walked around to the passenger side, opened the car door, and bent down to pick her up.
Startled, Chu Wuyang raised her hand to press against his chest, as if to warn him.
"I... I just injured my arm, I can walk by myself."
Jingmin acted as if he hadn't heard her, carrying her into the villa with steady and firm steps.
Along the way, her palms were covered in fine sweat. She couldn't help but look around. Everything here was exactly the same as it had been five years ago, even the positions of the ornaments hadn't changed.
There was a strange yet familiar scent in the air that made her feel a tightness in her chest.
"...Are people still living here?"
She tentatively began to speak.
The man didn't answer, but carried her upstairs to the second floor and placed her on the soft bed in the master bedroom.
Jingmin walked to the wardrobe and took out a set of her pajamas.
That was the style she used to wear most often, and the color hadn't changed.
He returned to the bedside, bent down to change her clothes, and remained silent throughout, his expression focused to the point of being cold.
The only sounds in the air were the soft rustling of his clothes and his heavy breathing.
Looking at the profile so close to his face, Chu Wuyang felt as if something was tightly gripping his heart.
After helping her change her clothes, Jing Min left without saying a word.
Chu Wuyang stared blankly at the closed door, unable to come back to her senses for a long time.
Downstairs, the man answered the phone as he walked down the stairs, the coldness in his voice seeping out from his ears.
"After all this time, you still can't catch a woman?"
On the other end of the phone, Yan Zhou's forehead was covered in sweat.
In the past, Mr. Jing could play a cat-and-mouse game with his business rivals without getting impatient for months or even a year.
Now... less than two hours after the incident, they're already in such a panic?
He reluctantly reported the truth.
"There's been a slight problem. Mo Sangyun is currently at your house, and we can't just barge in without your permission."
Jingmin suddenly stopped in his tracks.
"Mo Sangyu is going to protect that woman?"
“…Hmm.” Yan Zhou gritted his teeth.
The next second, the man's voice was as cold as water from the depths of an icy pool.
"Notify Mo Sangyu that the contractual marriage has expired. If you want to protect yourself, don't try to be clever and get involved."
He paused, his voice low and deep, as if uttering each word carefully.
"Hold a press conference tomorrow and have her attend."
"The relevant information that needs to be released is in my office drawer. Go and get it now."
"yes."
The call ended, and the car keys made a crisp sound as they were squeezed.
Upstairs, Chu Wuyang listened to the sounds of cars starting and leaving downstairs, and couldn't help but walk to the window.
The car had long since disappeared into the night.
He... just left like that?
My gaze moved down to the courtyard, where several bodyguards stood and servants were going in and out.
She then breathed a slight sigh of relief.
He didn't leave her here alone.
Yan Zhou hung up the phone, but the phone was still pressed against his ear, and he didn't come back to his senses for a long time.
Contractual marriage?
And Mo Sangyu?
How is that possible?
These words seemed to have been smashed into my brain, creating a jumbled mess.
He dared not think too much, nor dared to delay any longer, and immediately drove back to the company.
When he pushed open the door to the president's office, his heart was pounding, as if he had stumbled upon some secret he shouldn't have touched.
The first thing that catches the eye when you open the drawer is two red marriage certificates with the national emblem embedded in them.
