As dawn broke, Jing Min returned, covered in rain and wind. He was taken aback when he opened the bedroom door and saw Chu Wuyang sitting on the sofa.
"Up so early?"
Chu Wuyang got up and walked up to him.
Before he could even speak, the man's face darkened.
"You took a bath by yourself?"
He took a light sniff and could already detect the fresh scent of her bath.
Chu Wuyang glanced down at the pajamas she had changed into and nodded dismissively.
The man didn't lift her sleeve very gently. Seeing that the gauze was not wet, his expression softened slightly, but he didn't say a word and went straight to the bathroom.
Chu Wuyang touched his nose and silently followed.
"Um, would you like to take a bath? I'll run the water for you."
Jingmin leaned against the sink, his eyes seeming to see through her intentions.
Chu Wuyang had no choice but to put down the showerhead.
"Mo Sangyu came to see me."
His eyes narrowed, and the murderous aura emanating from him remained.
Chu Wuyang sighed softly, stepped forward, and carefully hooked her finger around his.
“Mo Sangyun’s crime does not warrant death. Why don’t we release her?”
The man shook off her hand, speaking coldly.
"no."
"She didn't cause any major harm, so please don't be so serious and be normal, okay?"
"Besides, if she breaks the law, you can hand her over to the police. You don't need to take a life for her and offend the Mo family."
"What can the Mo family do to me?"
Jing Min sneered as he approached.
"You've said so much... What, you can't stand me anymore? Do you think I'm abnormal? Sick?"
Chu Wuyang was powerless to refute, and could only patiently persuade him.
"Punishing her is fine, but there's no need to kill her."
"Moreover, her actions are understandable, after all, even I don't know... the true relationship between you and Mo Sangyu."
Jing Min's eyes darkened, and he didn't explain further what she already knew.
Seeing that he wouldn't budge no matter how she tried to persuade him, Chu Wuyang closed her eyes, stepped forward, and hugged him.
"Just this once, okay? Sparing her life doesn't mean letting her go."
The man remained motionless, like a block of ice.
Chu Wuyang gritted her teeth, stood on tiptoe, hooked her arms around his neck, and took the initiative to kiss him passionately.
His thin lips were cool, and she warmed them little by little, her emotions both passionate and tender.
But the man neither pushed her away nor responded, remaining as steady as a mountain.
After an unknown amount of time, Chu Wuyang's neck became extremely sore, and her toes felt numb.
Jing Min is completely immune to the honey trap.
Knowing the true nature of his relationship with Mo Sangyu, she thought Jing Min was still the man who would turn into a beast at the slightest touch, but she overestimated her charm.
A wave of dejection washed over her... She let go, resolving to try another way to persuade him.
However, he had only stepped back half an inch when
Suddenly, I was lifted into the air and pressed against the cold sink.
The next second, a chill seeped into my clothes, and my breath was forcibly taken away.
In the mirror, the man who was as steady as a mountain now had a dark look in his eyes, like a wild beast that had been completely awakened.
The next morning, as soon as Chu Wuyang opened his eyes, his phone vibrated.
An unfamiliar international dialing code appeared on the screen.
She answered the phone; it was Mo Sangyu.
"Thank you, Miss Chu. I have safely returned Sang Yun to the chiefdom."
Her voice was much gentler than yesterday, as if she had breathed a sigh of relief.
"Also... please apologize to your friend Miss Ye for me. I only just found out that Sang Yun and Chu Han did so many terrible things to her."
She paused, then said...
"But you can rest assured, I have already spoken to my father. If Sang Yun finds a suitable kidney donor, that would be best. If not... that is her fate."
In short, she won't bother you anymore.
"As for Chu Han, he is already a cripple and will not appear again in the future."
Chu Wuyang leaned against the headboard, her fingertips unconsciously tracing the wrinkles in the sheets, her tone indifferent.
"Miss Mo, you don't need to apologize on their behalf."
"They did something wrong and received the punishment they deserved. That matter... is over."
A soft sigh came from the other end.
"Yes, it's all in the past... It's only been two days, but it feels like half a lifetime has been changed."
After a brief silence, she suddenly added,
"Oh, by the way, Ms. Chu, I'm going back to China after today's press conference, and we probably won't see each other again. Let's just say goodbye over the phone."
"Press conference?"
Chu Wuyang was taken aback.
Mo Sangyu chuckled softly, her expression somewhat ambiguous.
"Yes, it's a press conference. Jingmin wants to clarify some things."
Didn't he tell you?
Chu Wuyang turned her head and glanced at the other side of the bed.
It was so clean it looked like no one had ever lain on it.
She didn't know when the man left, she only whispered into the microphone,
"...Goodbye, Miss Mo."
After hanging up the phone, Chu Wuyang got up to wash up.
I glanced at the time as I came out.
Wednesday, 8:59 a.m.
As if sensing something, she stood at the foot of the bed, her gaze fixed on the phone on the bed.
Sure enough, the bell rang precisely at nine o'clock.
She didn't even bother to check the caller ID, answering the call expressionlessly and holding it to her ear.
"Yangyang, where are you? Haven't you boarded the plane yet?"
Yang Jinchu's voice sounded hurried.
Chu Wuyang remained silent.
The other person immediately panicked, their breathing becoming rapid.
"Yangyang, is that you?"
"Can you say something? Don't make me worry. Did Jingmin do something to you again? Don't be afraid, I—"
"Yang Jinchu, is that you?"
She spoke softly.
The voice on the other end paused, as if sensing something was wrong.
