Chapter 5 Breakfast

"Okay, Grandpa, Yuebai understands," Lin Yuebai replied, slightly flattered.

"Yangyang, eat more seafood porridge. Ah Min knows you're a picky eater and only want seafood porridge made with fresh, large shrimp."

Thinking that you might have come back in a hurry last night, there might not have been any shrimp in the kitchen.

"I personally drove out early this morning to buy the shrimp and then personally instructed the kitchen to prepare them," Old Master Chu said to Chu Wuyang with a smile.

Upon hearing this, Chu Wuyang was about to reach for the porridge when the person beside her took her bowl first, handing it to her with long, slender hands.

Jingmin heard a very faint sound.

"Thanks"

"No need," Jing Min replied, slightly bewildered.

He couldn't remember the last time she had spoken to him; it was probably two years ago. His throat tightened slightly. Chu Wuyang sat to his right.

He even went so far as to try and get closer to her, after two years of marriage.

She spent two years in New York, and he would make time to visit her every month.

She always used school activities or other excuses to go out of town or do other things, and she would never be there. Even if she didn't know he was coming in advance, she would still leave home that night.

Ultimately, she didn't want to face him, making this response all the more precious.

She took the porridge, frowned slightly, and placed it on the table as far away from herself as possible without drinking it.

These seemingly normal actions did not escape Jingmin's notice, who had been paying close attention to her.

It's nothing much, just a little disappointing.

Chu Wuyang's hands were under the table, resting on her lap. The moment Jing Min's hand reached over...

She stiffened slightly, then obediently let him hold her hand. The warmth of Jing Min's palm seemed to seep into her bones.

The movement wasn't obvious, but Master Chu, who was nearby, saw it.

He lowered his head, took a sip of tea, and smiled without saying a word.

After the meal, Jingmin was called away by Master Chu to play chess.

Chu Wuyang returned to the opera troupe.

Unlike the Jing family's Western-style architecture, the Chu family's architecture is a traditional Chinese garden style.

Large and small Chinese-style pavilions and gardens are scattered throughout the estate, which covers several hundred acres.

The Chu family's residence can be traced back to the ancestors of Chu Laozi. Over time, they have become a truly prestigious and influential family in Haicheng.

The master, young master, and young lady of the family all lived in the mansion, each with their own independent courtyard.

Aside from family gatherings, we don't bother each other at other times.

Besides the brothers of Master Chu, Master Chu himself had two sons and one daughter, his eldest uncle also had two sons and one daughter, his aunt had one daughter, and his youngest son died in a car accident years ago, leaving behind a daughter, Chu Wuyang.

And then there's Lin Yuebai, who was recently officially recognized.
