Chapter 54: Hair Lost

To be fair, when it really matters, this silly kid actually has a sharp mind.

Chu Wuyang smiled meaningfully but did not answer.

Mingxiu's face flushed instantly, her embarrassment evident. She scratched her head sheepishly, realizing she had been so presumptuous in front of the person in question.

Thinking back to what I said earlier, and how I even wanted to get to know them, I just want to crawl into a hole and disappear.

The nearly 1.9-meter-tall young man's head was drooping so low his chin almost touched his chest.

Chu Wuyang couldn't help but chuckle when she saw the embarrassed look on the person in front of her.

When Jingmin came to look for someone after making the phone call, this was the scene he saw upon entering:

It seems like a young couple has just finished expressing their feelings for each other. The man boldly confessed his love, but shyly and anxiously lowered his head, waiting for the woman's reaction.

The woman smiled radiantly, feigning reluctance while simultaneously welcoming him.

The scene was extremely jarring.

What are you doing?

Jing Min's icy voice came from the doorway. His tall, slender figure stood backlit, and anger subtly surged within his voice.

Realizing what was happening, Mingxiu turned to look at Chu Wuyang in fright, her eyes darting around again. A signal in her mind told her that she was doomed.

It's impossible to explain, there's no one there.

At this moment, he was still regretting Chu Wuyang's suggestion to find some helpers.

He actually didn't agree.

He was panicked and at a loss, unsure whether to kneel down first or beg for mercy to save his life.

His face was filled with fear.

"No, Mr. Jing, let me explain..."

He's starting to ramble again.

"Pah, no, oh, no, I mean..."

Unable to utter a single word after a long pause, Mingxiu was on the verge of tears. If only Li Yan were here.

He's definitely more mentally resilient than me; he'll surely be able to argue eloquently in this situation.

Oh no, it's Yan Zhou who's eloquent and persuasive; Li Yan is just a blockhead.

This is completely ruined. My mouth is slurred, and my mind is a complete mess.

As Jing Min walked into the room and stood before him, his face was so gloomy it looked like dark clouds could drip water.

He had exhausted all his strength to keep from collapsing, but the fine beads of sweat on his forehead betrayed him completely.

"Let me hear your sophistry?"

Jing Min smirked and asked in a sinister tone,

Mingxiu moved her lips but no sound came out.

Jing Min gave a disdainful sneer, his tone dismissive.

"Is that all the ambition you have? You might as well go back to base."

Upon hearing this, Mingxiu lowered her head sadly. President Jing certainly hadn't said that to Li Yan.

Being selected to follow President Jing after passing the breakthrough test was already a source of great pride.

Regardless of the reason, upsetting President Jing is a cowardly act that indicates a failed mission.

Now that he's back to square one, his colleagues and teammates are going to laugh at him to death.

What a disgrace!

Chu Wuyang, who was standing to the side, couldn't bear to watch any longer.

That's how you scare children! No wonder Ahe and the usually flamboyant Chu Yixin are both afraid of him.

The title of "Living Yama" is well-deserved.

"Alright, you..."

"Shut up"

Jing Min interrupted her loudly, giving her a look that said, "I'll teach you a lesson later."

Seeing his agitated state, Chu Wuyang knew she couldn't afford to offend him, so she wisely kept quiet.

Fine, she was just being nosy. They're all his people anyway; he pays them, so he can discipline them however he wants.

Seeing her nonchalant attitude, Jingmin grew increasingly impatient. She really had no self-awareness whatsoever.

"Get out!"

Upon hearing this, Chu Wuyang immediately turned and was about to leave.

To her surprise, a pair of large hands immediately grabbed her, and then tightened their grip.

Chu Wuyang looked down at their clasped hands.

The look in his eyes asked what it meant.

Jing Min closed his eyes. Lately, he had become increasingly emotionally unstable. He sighed softly, his voice cool and gentle.

I wasn't talking about you.

Chu Wuyang ignored him completely, shook off his hand, and went straight upstairs. She didn't want to go out or stay with him.

Jingmin turned to Mingxiu, his tone cold.

"You, get out!"

Mingxiu was stunned by the scene of President Jing's anger towards his wife.

He's been working alongside President Jing for quite some time now.

He thought he had seen some details clearly enough.

But he clearly saw impatience in President Jing's eyes just now.

Oh my god! It seems like I've discovered an incredible secret!

He had to grit his teeth and pretend he didn't know; he firmly told himself this in his heart.

Seeing Mingxiu still stunned, Jingmin glanced at him.

"You'll bite your teeth to pieces if you don't get out!"

I was originally thinking about whether I should go to Africa to find Li Yan, lamenting how unlucky I was.

Having received clear instructions, Mingxiu felt as if she had come back to life.

Just as I was about to walk out, I was called back again.

"Wait a minute"

Mingxiu turned around with difficulty, looking at Jingmin with a resigned expression, awaiting instructions.

"Is your brain not working properly, or is your comprehension ability poor?"

Suddenly being scolded again, Mingxiu was puzzled.

Seeing his foolish expression, Jingmin spoke more bluntly.

"If I see even one more hair on your head, I'll shave it all off myself, and in the process, I'll make you a lifetime VIP at Shaolin Temple!"

His tone was somewhat clenched through gritted teeth.

Now Mingxiu understood completely. It was all her fault for walking two steps too slowly. She couldn't stop feeling regretful.

He usually trains to be the fastest, earning him the nickname "Swift-Wind Long-Haired Falcon".

Now I'm completely helpless. I couldn't control the length of my hair, and now I have no hair at all.

I'm afraid I'll get a "Bald Eagle with Gale-like Falcon" when I get back.

Mingxiu, looking dejected, bumped into Yanzhou, who was carrying a pile of documents, on the garden path as she went out.
