The next evening,
The master bedroom reeked of disinfectant. Parker checked Jingmin again; everything was fine.
Yan Zhou, whose nerves were on edge, saw Parker stop his examination and start adjusting the IV drip.
He was so excited he could barely breathe, urging him to speak.
"Why isn't he awake yet? It's been so long!"
Parker adjusted the infusion rate of the IV bottle.
He shook his head slightly with a helpless expression.
"Don't worry, it's nothing serious."
He started packing his things as he spoke, his tone relaxed.
Yan Zhou surrounded them and pressed them for answers.
"Why isn't he awake yet? It's been a whole day and night!"
Parker handed his things to his assistant, paused to think for a few seconds, and then...
"Perhaps I'm just too tired..."
Before he could finish speaking, he caught a glimpse of the person on the bed move slightly out of the corner of his eye.
He asked with a joyful expression.
"Mr. Jing, you're awake?"
Yan Zhou also quickly went to the bedside and asked with concern.
"Mr. Jing, how are you feeling?"
Jing Min slowly opened his eyes, his consciousness struggling to emerge from the fog.
His head was spinning. He shifted slightly and reached up to rub his temples.
Fearing that his movements might loosen the IV drip, Yan Zhou quickly went over and helped him sit up slowly.
"careful!"
Jing Min leaned against the headboard and looked up, her eyes filled with confusion. Then her gaze shifted to Parker and his assistant beside her.
He then lowered his head, his brows slightly furrowed.
It seems like they are trying to adapt to this environment.
A moment later, memories flooded back like a tide.
He suddenly looked up, his gaze sweeping across the room as if searching for something.
Seeing his reaction, Yan Zhou whispered a reminder.
"Mr. Jing, your wife is already resting and isn't here."
Before Jingmin could ask any more questions
He raised his hand to look at his watch and said...
"It's 10 PM now, you've been sleeping for a whole day and night."
Jingmin knew where the master bedroom was just by looking at it.
He propped himself up to get out of bed.
Parker and his assistant, along with Yan Zhou, rushed forward in a panic to stop them.
"Mr. Jing, you can't get out of bed yet. Just let us know if you need anything."
Jingmin was still very weak and had a low-grade fever; his strength was far less than the others.
He was breathing heavily, his voice hoarse.
"How is she? Is she hurt?"
Yan Zhou dared not conceal anything, but considering that telling him everything in detail would inevitably cause him to lose his temper again, he knew that he needed to rest quietly in his current condition.
He simulated ambiguity by highlighting the key points.
"Your wife has some minor injuries. She stayed by your side while you were unconscious, and she didn't sleep a wink for the past two days until your condition stabilized before she could leave."
Jingmin felt a hint of relief in his eyes, but he still insisted on going to see her.
Parker tried to speak, but Yan Zhou stopped him with a look.
He glanced out the window before continuing.
"It's already so late. Going over now might disturb her. Besides, you need to rest. You're not feeling well right now. It's not too late to see her after you've rested!"
Jing Min listened without suspicion, pursed her lips, lowered her head, and her long eyelashes concealed the emotions in her eyes.
I glanced at my hands; they were indeed dry and yellowish, so I figured my complexion probably wasn't much better.
He was somewhat frustrated; everyone wants to present their best side to others.
Yan Zhou poured him a glass of water and handed it to him, relieved to see that he had been persuaded.
He turned around and quietly started to shoo people away.
This foreigner is too honest; he'll easily expose himself.
Parker wanted to say something more, but seeing Yan Zhou's serious expression, he wisely kept quiet.
He was just about to complain.
Although Mrs. Jing had been keeping a close watch on him the whole time, afterwards she didn't even glance at him once.
Today, as he passed by, he saw people leisurely sunbathing in the garden.
She's so fickle, sometimes so affectionate, sometimes so heartless.
He thought to himself with a self-deprecating smile, "As a foreigner, I really don't understand!"
After instructing his assistant not to leave anything behind, he left.
"Has my illness flared up?"
After Yan Zhou saw Parker out, he closed the door.
Hearing the man behind him calmly ask,
He was somewhat surprised, but quickly denied it.
"No, but it did trigger the toxins... but it was successfully suppressed. Fortunately, the snake venom wasn't very toxic, so nothing serious happened."
However, Parker said that snake venom has hallucinogenic effects, and during the poisoning process, anything you recall could be a hallucination.
"What has reminded you of?" he asked cautiously.
Jingmin's dark eyes deepened.
"It seems like some things are certain, but not entirely certain,"
His irrelevant answer made Yan Zhou a little worried. Could it be that his memory was confused?
Jing Min glanced at him lightly and spoke somewhat weakly.
"You can leave now! I'll think about it myself."
Yan Zhou anxiously wanted to speak again, but seeing Jing Min's already cold face, he dared not say anything more.
"Then you should get some rest. I've arranged for someone to be outside; just call them if you need anything."
The door closed, and everything fell silent. Jingmin recalled the events that had occurred on the yacht.
His last conscious thought was of Chu Wuyang anxiously running towards him after he was bitten by the sea snake.
He clearly remembered that the snake should be nearby, so he wasn't sure if she was injured.
But what happened next became increasingly bizarre, and the scene was strikingly similar to that night five years earlier, also in a stuffy cabin…
——
At noon, the chef meticulously prepared light and delicious dishes for the patients, but Jing Min stared at them coldly, not tasting a single bite.
"And her?"
He waited all morning but still hadn't seen anyone, and finally couldn't help but ask.
Yan Zhou lowered his head, his voice tinged with embarrassment as he replied.
