At night, Chu Wuyang developed a high fever; her body was as hot as a boiled shrimp.
Jingmin scolded the doctor for his poor medical skills.
"Isn't it said that you'll be healthy once you get enough sleep and wake up naturally? How come you have a fever now?"
Even if Parker was completely oblivious to the danger, he didn't dare to talk back at this moment.
But inwardly, he argued that it wasn't his medical skills that were lacking; he had already advised his patients to relax and get plenty of rest.
He was also injured, and I specifically told him to abstain from sexual activity. It just goes to show, young people are impulsive.
Anyone with a normal mind would know what happened to the lady with all those wounds. She hurt herself and others.
He reluctantly took the blame, and also had to worry about the injury on the person's back. These days, money is so hard to earn.
Jing Min hadn't slept well for several days; his eyes were covered in dark circles. He sat on the edge of Chu Wuyang's bedside.
Stroking her forehead,
It would be a lie to say he didn't feel sorry for her seeing her like this, but he also knew she was cold-hearted.
As long as he makes an opening for her, she can run out and stab him in the process.
His condition was also terrible; he was physically exhausted but couldn't sleep at all. He had stayed up all night with her and felt completely drained.
When Yan Zhou entered the room, he saw Jing Min trembling, seemingly struggling to stay upright.
This happened in just one day he was gone.
He went out to handle their business here and when he returned, the butler had already given him a brief account of what had happened.
The butler was unaware of the conflict between them, but Yan Zhou analyzed it and concluded that, as the saying goes, bystanders see things more clearly, and there was probably some misunderstanding.
So he took it upon himself to keep the servants.
"Mr. Jing, I'll watch over Madam for you. The doctor said you're extremely fatigued and need rest."
Jing Min's gaze remained fixed on Chu Wuyang's face, showing no reaction to Yan Zhou's words.
"Miss Yun has been waiting for you all night," Yan Zhou said in a low voice, bending down.
Jing Min's gaze shifted to Yan Zhou's face, his eyes seemingly puzzled.
Yan Zhou repeated the words
"Miss Yun Yang, she is waiting for you. You need to rest now, please go back first!"
Jing Min's expression was somewhat like a puppet's; he nodded mechanically as if he understood, then his gaze instantly shifted back to Chu Wuyang's face.
—
Two days later, Chu Wuyang's fever subsided and she woke up, then began a hunger strike.
Jingmin clutched the doctor's examination report.
Malnutrition—those four words almost caused him to lose control of his emotions again.
Looking at the vacant expression on the bed, his brow twitched. He asked her what she really wanted, saying that everything except the two conditions he had mentioned before was negotiable.
But she didn't even glance at him.
He could tell what she meant from her expression.
He sneered. It seemed she truly did as she said, wanting to die together with him; she wanted to wear herself down before wearing him down.
He scoffed. Did they think this would make him compromise? If he were so easily persuaded, he would have died in the pursuit three years ago.
Turning to the doctor, he instructed him to administer an IV drip.
Yunyang was appearing at the villa more and more frequently, freely entering and leaving the master bedroom without any attempt to avoid people, but she never stayed overnight.
Gossip would reach Chu Wuyang's ears, but she paid no attention and remained listless.
Jing Min looked at Chu Wuyang, whose cheeks had become sunken in just two days, and felt so angry that his internal organs ached.
But she acted like she was giving up, refusing to eat or drink and showing no reaction whatsoever;
"What exactly do you want? Do you want me to blow up the hospital right now?"
After all this time of estrangement, how could he not know what she was thinking about?
As expected, Chu Wuyang glared at him coldly.
He gets anxious and angry when there's no response, and he gets even angrier when there is.
He was about to pick up the phone and give a brief explanation: Deploy the bombing of the hospital.
For a moment, Chu Wuyang actually smiled, picked up the food beside him, and started eating.
Seeing that his threat was effective, Jing Min felt a mix of emotions and angrily slammed the door and left.
Chu Wuyang ate the rice in her bowl, finally relieved of the worries she had been having these past few days.
If Jing Min's strength required preparation, it meant Yang Jinchu was on guard. Being on guard meant safety, which finally put her at ease.
As for the deployment Jingmin mentioned, it will take time. If he still cares about her frail health, then the deployment timeline will definitely be uncertain.
A week later, Maria appeared at the villa. Chu Wuyang, weak and frail, struggled to get out of bed, looking surprised and speaking with a tone full of guilt.
"Maria, what are you doing here? I thought... I thought you were gone. I'm so sorry."
"Oh my goodness! Madam, how did you become so ill? Don't apologize,
I should be thanking you! My family has paid off our debts, and yesterday the housekeeper called to say she'd keep me on, and the pay has doubled!
Maria's cheerful expression made Chu Wuyang's brow twitch.
At the same time, out of gratitude to Chu Wuyang for giving her the ring, she sold it and made a lot of money, which helped her pay off her debts all at once.
She made a point of inquiring about the man, glanced around to make sure no one else was nearby, then leaned close to Chu Wuyang's ear and whispered...
Chu Wuyang's relaxed brows furrowed again.
Upon learning that Chu Wuyang had begun eating, Yan Zhou excitedly informed Jing Min of the news.
Jing Min lifted his eyelids and glanced sideways.
"I'll let you off this time for acting on your own initiative."
Deep down, I didn't want to admit that I started eating because I heard news about that person.
Let's attribute the credit to that group of people!
—
That evening, Chu Wuyang, as if waiting for her in the garden, stopped Yun Yang from leaving.
"What? You're an old acquaintance, yet you come to someone's house as a guest and don't even greet the host? How rude!" Chu Wuyang spoke first.
For some reason, Yun Yang lost her previous provocative attitude, as if she didn't want to cause trouble, and spoke politely.
