Yan Zhou drove very steadily and arrived at the airport on time, just ten minutes before takeoff.
Chu Wuyang's face clearly showed anxiety; he couldn't wait to open the car door before the car had even come to a complete stop.
Jing Min, with a stern face, grabbed her.
"Didn't you know it was dangerous? The car hadn't even come to a complete stop."
Chu Wuyang broke free from Jingmin's hand.
"Let go, there's no time left!"
Jing Min stared intently at her, and whether intentionally delaying, he slowly reminded her in his voice.
"Just ten minutes, don't make me go in and arrest them!"
Chu Wuyang was slightly taken aback and asked in confusion.
"Won't the flight take off in ten minutes?"
Jing Min scoffed, "Who knows, maybe someone won't even board the plane!"
Chu Wuyang glanced at him coldly, her eyes like wisps of smoke.
"Don't be so petty. He has a girlfriend now. Don't keep bringing up the past. Let go of him!"
Jingmin also got a little angry, and started to suspect and misunderstand him for no reason. She tried to explain and find reasons to him.
If Yang Jinchu dies someday, will it be blamed on him?
Chu Wuyang suppressed his temper.
"Let go, there's really no time. Ten minutes is ten minutes. I'll come out myself no matter if the flight takes off or he gets on the plane, okay?"
Seeing that she herself had given her assurance, Jingmin felt inexplicably relieved and readily let go.
The two had been arguing for two minutes already.
Chu Wuyang got out of the car with a long face, while Jing Min, sitting inside, was satisfied.
Very well, that's settled then. He went to see Yang Jinchu with a long face; after all, it wasn't him who was unlucky.
Having been instructed early in the morning, Yan Zhou hurriedly followed Chu Wuyang's footsteps.
They ran all the way, and Jingmin was still somewhat conscientious, the two of them using a special passage that had been arranged in advance.
—
The VIP room is dimly lit and warm.
Yang Jinchu's face was still pale from recovering from her illness. She sat upright on the sofa, her expression calm and serene.
Wen Ying brought him a cup of hot water, her eyes filled with worry as she looked at the small bandage still wrapped around his arm.
She sat closer to him, reaching out to touch his forearm. Yang Jinchu sensed her worry, turned to her, placed his hand on hers, and offered a gentle, comforting smile.
Wen Ying felt the dampness in his palm, her heart tightened, and she asked anxiously.
"Are you feeling unwell? I'll call the doctor right away," she said, getting up with a tone full of concern.
Yang Jinchu suddenly grabbed her hand, shook his head, and his voice was hoarse.
"It's alright, don't worry!"
Wen Ying bit her lip and muttered.
"Who exactly is this person? What do they want that they need to see me about now?" His tone was full of distrust and anger.
Yang Jinchu chuckled softly, got up, and poured her a glass of water.
"You'll find out soon enough," he said casually, but the slight tremor in his voice betrayed his true feelings.
Wen Ying, oblivious to the fact that she still looked angry, was gently patted on the shoulder by Yang Jinchu, who spoke in a tender tone.
"Why don't you go and keep my parents company first, and get some sleep in the cabin? It's too basic here, and it's not comfortable."
Wen Ying gripped his arm tightly, her voice urgent and in denial.
"No, I have to stay with you. You're still sick, and your aunt and uncle told me to keep a close eye on you."
For some reason, Wen Ying felt a sudden pang of panic. Perhaps to ease her anxiety,
She made a joke, trying to sound lighthearted.
"So eager to get rid of me? You're not planning to meet some beautiful woman, are you?"
Yang Jinchu paused for a moment, then looked at her tenderly, speaking in a doting tone.
"Besides you, my beauty, who else could it be?"
The rhetorical question reassured Wen Ying considerably. Previously, she and Yang Jinchu had been putting on an act for their parents.
But perhaps it's true that she stayed by his side through thick and thin during that time, or maybe their love was tested in adversity.
Yang Jinchu's suggestion to turn the charade into reality likely stemmed from his early realization of the depth of his own feelings, which is why he agreed to such an absurd performance.
She didn't want to be looked down upon, but she simply couldn't refuse his request. Sensing her hesitation, he finally apologized.
"I'm sorry! I was being presumptuous."
At that moment, Wen Ying felt flustered. Even if it was just acting, or out of gratitude, she believed that feelings would develop over time, so she quickly interrupted.
"No, I'm willing."
Her ears turned red after she finished speaking, but she was undoubtedly overjoyed. She was no longer timid and hesitant in front of his parents; she could now openly cling to him.
So when he received the news that someone wanted to see him, and she wanted to come along, he indulged her—in a way that allowed her to legitimately meet someone from his circle.
—
Suddenly, the door to the VIP room was pushed open, and the two people on the sofa stood up naturally. Yan Zhou waited outside the door as if to be himself.
Chu Wuyang slowly entered, her steps faltering slightly, her face filled with remorse.
She walked quickly to Yang Jinchu, lowered her head slightly, and spoke in a tone full of apology.
"Are you alright? I'm so sorry, it's all because of me that you got hurt?"
Yang Jinchu smiled knowingly, then quickly withdrew his hand as if to reach out.
"See, it's all better now, isn't it? It wasn't your fault, it was all an accident."
Yang Jinchu's magnanimity in not blaming her caused a moment of sadness. A thin mist rose in Chu Wuyang's eyes, her voice choked with emotion, and she sniffled.
"sorry!"
Yang Jinchu's voice chuckled
"It's not a big deal. You're so old and you still cry so easily. Do you want to turn around and tell Grandma that I made you cry, like you used to?"
The maternal grandmother mentioned here is Chu Wuyang's maternal grandmother.
She was instantly amused, but her eyes also reddened further, and the atmosphere between them seemed to return to what it was before.
