Chapter 91 Using a debt of gratitude to plead for mercy

After quickly completing the examination, the doctor took part of the report and left the ward. A short while later, he returned and said to Jingmin:

"The current examination results show that apart from some superficial injuries and being overly excited and frightened, there are no other major problems, so there is no need to worry too much."

Jing Min gently pushed open the ward door and saw that Chu Wuyang had wrapped herself tightly in the blanket again.

He slowly walked to the bedside and whispered, "The doctor said it's nothing, don't be afraid."

His brows were furrowed, his eyes filled with concern and heartache. He pulled back the covers and lay down.

He pulled the blanket tighter, enveloping them both intimately.

Feeling the warmth, the person in his arms unconsciously leaned back, snuggling into him comfortably.

Jing Min smiled. After this ordeal, she seemed to have become dependent on him again, which was a good thing.

But amidst the joy, there was a slight unease.

We worked until late into the night, and the sky was already beginning to lighten.

On a crisp autumn morning, a thin layer of mist rose from the glass, and a strange, hazy atmosphere began to permeate the room.

Chu Wuyang peeked out from under the warm blankets and saw that the man seemed to be asleep.

The mist in her eyes seemed to freeze, and she subtly shrank to the side.

They are still in the hospital because some reports are still pending.

In the afternoon, the caregiver, seeing that the sun was shining brightly outside, smiled and suggested:

"The weather is nice today. We can go for a walk in the garden downstairs and soak up some sun. It's good for our health."

Jingmin, who was sitting on the sofa to the side, put down the documents in his hand when he heard the sound and looked up.

He slowly turned his gaze to Chu Wuyang, whose eyes were fixed on the window, filled with longing for the outside world, like a little bird yearning for freedom.

Jing Min looked at her and asked softly:

"Want to go downstairs and play?"

Chu Wuyang turned her head and nodded slightly, a hint of anticipation flashing in her eyes.

Jingmin glanced down at the garden, which was directly within the room's view, and then remembered he had a video conference later and couldn't join her.

But he couldn't bear to refuse her wish, so after a moment's thought, he agreed, adding a note:

"Go ahead, but don't go too far, and be careful."

The caregiver quickly nodded in agreement: "Okay, don't worry."

Downstairs, the long-awaited sunshine shone on her, seemingly sweeping away the gloom in Chu Wuyang's heart.

She gently reached out and touched the warm sunlight, a faint smile appearing on her face, as if all her worries had been left behind at that moment.

However, a sudden noise broke the tranquility.

Chu Wuyang glanced to the side and saw a bodyguard in black blocking a young woman not far away.

The woman looked anxious, her eyes fixed on her direction, her worry clearly visible.

Chu Wuyang was filled with doubt. She turned to look at the caregiver, her eyes full of questions, as if asking, "What's going on?"

The caregiver also looked blank and shook her head to indicate that she didn't know.

The caregiver walked towards the woman, intending to ask what was wrong, as the noise was disturbing others.

Chu Wuyang watched all this from afar, her heart filled with doubt. She carefully examined the woman, only to find that she had no recollection of her appearance whatsoever.

The woman was speaking urgently to the caregiver, her eyes filled with anxiety and longing. She spoke quickly and gestured incessantly with her hands.

The caregiver kept shaking her head, looking somewhat troubled, as if she was refusing the woman's request.

Seeing this, the woman became even more anxious. She pointed in Chu Wuyang's direction with one finger.

He became increasingly agitated, talking incessantly as if explaining something important.

Faced with the caregiver's repeated refusals, the woman suddenly made a surprising move: she bent her knees and was about to kneel down.

Upon seeing this, Chu Wuyang was startled and quickly gestured to the caregiver.

The woman's face immediately lit up with surprise. She pointed at the caregiver and looked at Chu Wuyang, as if to say, "Please let me through."

The caregiver glanced upstairs, seemingly hesitant, but seeing Chu Wuyang's gesture, she had no choice but to agree.

After receiving permission from the caregiver, the woman's face showed a relieved expression, and she quickly ran towards Chu Wuyang.

Her steps were hurried and flustered, her eyes filled with a mixture of tension and anticipation.

When she reached Chu Wuyang, she was slightly out of breath, her face showing a mixture of apology and urgency, and she wanted to speak.

Yet she seemed unsure where to begin, her hands unconsciously twisting together, revealing her inner unease and inner turmoil.

Chu Wuyang looked at her, his eyes filled with questions and wariness, waiting for her to explain everything.

Her lips trembled slightly; before she could even speak, she knelt down.

Chu Wuyang was startled by the sudden movement and hurriedly steadied her, his face full of surprise.

"Who are you?"

"What are you doing? Get up!" Chu Wuyang said urgently, her tone filled with confusion and anxiety.

The woman raised her head, tears welling in her eyes, and said in a choked voice:

"I am Jingmin's cousin, Ning Zhi, Jinghuan's wife. I... I hope you can forgive us. Please save my husband,"

Upon hearing this identity, Chu Wuyang's expression instantly turned cold.

A flash of disgust and anger crossed her eyes, and she abruptly withdrew her hand that had been supporting the woman.

"Go away, I can't help you."

Chu Wuyang said coldly, her tone resolute, leaving no room for negotiation.

She turned her head away, not wanting to look at the woman anymore. She wasn't that saintly; those people had all participated in humiliating her that day.
