The lawn at the sanatorium was neatly trimmed, and the sunlight shining on it made it look like a golden carpet.
Chu Wuyang stood quietly to the side, her expression somewhat indifferent, her eyes gazing into the distance, lost in thought.
Grandma Jiang sat in her wheelchair, her eyes somewhat unfocused, as if lost in deep memories.
The surroundings were quiet except for the rustling sound of the breeze through the grass.
Grandma Jiang sighed softly, breaking the silence; her voice sounded like a sigh from the depths of time.
"Jing Min's father, Jing Yi, met Jin Lanyue, who is also Jing Min's mother, while he was studying abroad."
At this point, a hint of warmth flashed in Grandma Jiang's eyes.
"The two of them are a perfect match, both talented and beautiful, and they share similar interests and fell in love freely."
“Our Jing family, and I, are very supportive of them.”
Chu Wuyang's lips twitched slightly, as if he wanted to say something, but he held back.
As Grandma Jiang continued, her eyes gradually dimmed, "But Jin Lanyue's family is a mysterious wealthy family rooted overseas, and they don't agree to this marriage."
"The Jin family captured Lan Yue and imprisoned her."
Grandma Jiang frowned, her expression full of helplessness.
“Jing Yi was weak and isolated abroad. Even though our Jing family was at its peak at that time, it was still far inferior to the Jin family.”
"He had nowhere to turn for help abroad, and was eventually deported because of the Kim family."
Chu Wuyang looked at Old Madam Jiang, her gaze softening slightly.
It's surprising that such a strong-willed and traditional old lady could also be so understanding and supportive of her son's freedom to choose his own partner.
Isn't she in love with Lin Wei?
Grandma Jiang seemed oblivious to Chu Wuyang's reaction, lost in her memories.
"From then on, Jing Yi was like a different person, constantly depressed and listless. He was like a puppet who had lost its soul."
"I just couldn't stand it. I've always liked Lin Wei, and I wanted to help Jing Yi out of his emotional predicament, so I brought them together."
Chu Wuyang revealed a hint of disdain.
She thought she was truly righteous and understanding, but her son, desperate for true love, had nowhere to turn, and yet the mother went around playing matchmaker, taking advantage of his vulnerability.
She couldn't help but snort coldly.
"Jingmin's father wouldn't agree, would he?"
After a few seconds of stunned silence, Grandma Jiang nodded slightly, her expression somewhat bitter.
“I really didn’t want to, in fact, Avi didn’t want to either, but she grew up by my side and has always listened to me.”
"And so, just for me and to distract himself, Jingyi and I maintained a lukewarm relationship."
Chu Wuyang rolled her eyes but didn't say anything.
Seeing Chu Wuyang's reaction, as if deliberately trying to annoy her, Old Mrs. Jiang said in a low voice...
"Your father met Awei around that time, and your father and Jingyi have known each other since childhood,"
"During that time, I was very grateful to him for being there for Jingyi, encouraging and helping him. That's how I got to know Awei..."
Chu Wuyang's face turned ashen, and she angrily interrupted.
"Shut up!"
Old Mrs. Jiang was deliberately trying to disgust her; her father was already married at that time.
Regardless of whether the relationship with his best friend's adopted daughter was mutually affectionate...
It's all a shameful affair.
While it takes two to tango, Old Madam Jiang's bluntness in saying this was utterly shameless.
It's clear that this is all there is to home education.
No wonder Lin Wei and Lin Yuebai both have this kind of personality.
If the Jing family hadn't fallen on hard times, Lin Yuebai would still be a legitimate young lady of the Jing family.
Grandma Jiang didn't think there was anything wrong with Lin Yuebai's background at all, and often took her out to socialize in public.
She acted as if she were someone important in their family, which was disgusting because Lin Yuebai was actually a few months older than her.
The upbringing of this family is truly appalling.
Jingmin too…
A flicker of annoyance crossed her eyes, her nose wrinkled slightly, and she asked impatiently.
"And then what?"
After feeling disgusted, Old Madam Jiang didn't continue arguing and slowly went on to tell her story.
"Just as Jingyi was slowly getting through it with Awei's company and his good brother's encouragement,"
"Unexpectedly, one day, Jin Lanyue suddenly arrived in Haicheng..."
Grandma Jiang paused slightly, then closed her eyes, as if suppressing her emotions.
He spoke after a long while.
From that moment on, everything went into chaos.
Grandma Jiang leaned back in her wheelchair, her gaze seemingly traversing time and space, lost in a vortex of memories.
Her brows furrowed slightly.
"Jin Lanyue came to Haicheng all by herself."
Her fingers seemed to carry a secret, tapping lightly on the armrest with a slow, heavy rhythm.
Chu Wuyang sat on a rattan chair that the caregiver had already brought over, idly fiddling with the teacups on the table that had also been brought over.
Upon hearing this, he looked up at the old lady.
Grandma Jiang continued speaking, a complex look flashing in her eyes:
"When A-Yi saw Jin Lanyue, he was very happy and regained his former radiance,"
"Jin Lanyue told Ayi that she had severed ties with her family. Ayi didn't think much of it at all and was very touched."
As she spoke, the old lady gently shook her head, her face full of helplessness.
"His heart was filled with heartache, feeling sorry for Jin Lanyue leaving such a powerful and influential family,"
"He must have suffered a lot. He promised Jin Lanyue on the spot that he would love her for life and never let her down."
Chu Wuyang gave a soft snort, a mocking smile playing on her lips, and set down her teacup.
It emitted a slight "clanging" sound, as if tolling a bell of doubt:
Shouldn't it?
"I never imagined that your heartless genes could produce a romantic like Jingmin's father,"
