Sunlight shone on Grandma Jiang's wrinkled face.
But it couldn't dispel the gloom that lingered in her eyes.
Chu Wuyang stood quietly by her side, a gentle breeze blowing, yet unable to dispel the heavy atmosphere.
"It was winter then, and it was bitterly cold!"
Grandma Jiang spoke slowly, her voice somewhat hoarse, like a sigh from the depths of time.
"Jingmin, who was only a few months old, was left all alone in the living room."
"The tiny body was wrapped in swaddling clothes, the little face was red from the cold, and the child barely had the strength to cry."
Grandma Jiang's hands trembled slightly, as if she were seeing that heartbreaking scene again.
“The servants were extremely anxious and tried their best to persuade Jin Lanyue, but she acted as if she couldn’t hear them. She was determined to wait for Ayi to come home and let him see the child as soon as possible.”
"Those servants, out of respect for Jin Lanyue's status, dared not say anything more and could only stand by anxiously."
Grandma Jiang frowned, her eyes filled with resentment towards Jin Lanyue.
“Jingmin has been sick since he was a child, and his body is as fragile as a candle in the wind.”
“Every time Ayi sees her child sick, her heart aches terribly. She stays home to take care of the child and can't even attend to her work.”
"I feel more and more sorry for the child, and even more sorry for Jin Lanyue who 'takes care of' the child."
"But little did he know that it was all Jin Lanyue's conspiracy."
A sarcastic smile appeared on Old Mrs. Jiang's lips, and the smile grew wider and wider.
It was as if he wanted to vent all his anger.
“As long as Ayi doesn’t come home, Jin Lanyue will definitely make the child sick.”
"Tell me, what kind of mother is this?"
"What did she take her child for? She tormented her own flesh and blood just to get her husband's attention."
Chu Wuyang listened, her eyes filled with shock and heartache, her hands unconsciously clenching.
How could there be such a person?
She bit her lip, her voice trembling slightly.
"Yes, I still can't believe it either."
Tears welled up in Grandma Jiang's eyes.
"We watched helplessly as our child fell ill every few days, and we were extremely anxious."
"We consulted various doctors, but they all just said that the child was weak."
“We even went to the temple to ask the monks to pray for blessings, but it was still to no avail.”
Grandma Jiang wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes.
"We suspected all the servants in the house and investigated them again and again. Who would have thought that the culprit was the child's mother?"
"This is outrageous, absolutely insane."
"Later, an old woman next to me couldn't stand it anymore, and she mustered up the courage to report Jin Lanyue's actions."
Grandma Jiang took a deep breath, as if trying to calm her inner excitement.
"But Ayi didn't believe it at all. He was furious and called it absurd."
"He felt that the person must have neglected their duties, failed to take good care of the child, and even slandered the homeowner. He severely punished the old man."
A hint of helplessness and sorrow flashed in Grandma Jiang's eyes.
“I know the people around me, she wouldn’t lie.”
"But if this is true, it's really absurd, like a nightmare."
“From then on, I became more cautious and placed someone more trustworthy by Jingmin's side,”
Chu Wuyang listened intently, her heart rising and falling with Grandma Jiang's story, her eyes filled with pity for Jing Min.
She couldn't imagine that the arrogant and domineering Jing Min had suffered such terrible torment as a child.
Grandma Jiang narrowed her eyes slightly, a complex expression of pain and anger flashing in them, and continued:
"The people who were later arranged to do this were just as the person who reported them said; Jin Lanyue was simply a devil."
“When we presented Ayi with those irrefutable facts, he was completely stunned, as if his soul had been taken away.”
“Those pieces of evidence, one by one, were like sharp blades, shattering his worldview.”
As Grandma Jiang spoke, her lips trembled slightly, and her hands unconsciously clenched the hem of her clothes.
"The surveillance video was captured very clearly, and no one had any motive to slander her."
"Even if Ayi doesn't want to believe it, he has no choice but to accept this cruel truth."
"We didn't dare to disturb Jin Lanyue, and quietly and quickly took Jing Min away."
"However, with A-Yi by her side, Jin Lanyue went so far as not to realize that her child was missing. Is this something a mother would do?!"
Grandma Jiang frowned, her face filled with disbelief.
"Only then did A-Yi see Jin Lanyue's true colors; she's a cold-blooded bastard without any feelings!"
"What does she consider her own son to be? Just a tool to please her husband, she's utterly depraved!"
Chu Wuyang listened indignantly, her eyes wide and her fists clenched.
How could there be such a person!
“How could Ayi accept this? The woman he loved with all his heart was actually such a vicious woman.”
"He has completely given up and is determined to divorce Jin Lanyue."
"Only then did Jin Lanyue realize that with the child gone, she had no leverage."
"So, she simply broke off all pretense and had the most intense argument in history with A-Yi,"
"Jin Lanyue refused to get a divorce no matter what, and the two fell into a cold war."
Grandma Jiang's eyes were filled with disgust for those chaotic days, and she sighed softly.
"During this time, for some unknown reason, the two maids who reported the incident died tragically and silently."
