Chapter 17 Relationships

Chu Wuyang's expression was not good: "What exactly are you trying to say?"

Do you and Wen Li keep in touch often?

There was no response, only the buzzing of the hairdryer.

After Chu Wuyang finished drying her hair, she went to put the hairdryer away and passed by Jing Min, who was standing next to the bed, when he grabbed her wrist.

"I'm talking to you! Do you two often contact each other privately?"

Chu Wuyang looked down at her wrist, which had been grabbed.

Then he forcefully shook off her, saying, "Whether we've been in contact or not, don't you know best?"

She started mocking him again.

Li Yan could only track her whereabouts when she was out so he could rush to her side when needed, but that didn't prevent her from making friends and contacting people privately.

After all, in his view, a bodyguard's primary responsibility is to protect safety, not to monitor privacy, and he wasn't a psychopath who wanted to control everything. But she had already formed that impression of him in her mind.

He sighed, "Do you have to talk to me like that? I'm not your enemy, I'm your lover."

Chu Wuyang found his words utterly ridiculous. A lover? How could anyone help their lover protect their enemy! It was a wonder he could even say that; she truly couldn't bear to love someone like that.

Chu Wuyang glanced at him expressionlessly.

What is your relationship with Lin Yuebai?

Her sudden question caught Jingmin off guard.

But she still answered seriously, "Aside from your side of the relationship, it's a relationship between Party A and Party B."

Chu Wuyang was somewhat disappointed.

She lowered her gaze again to look at his hand that had come to clench hers, and said calmly,

"I have no private contact with Wen Li; this was just a coincidence."

Seeing her so frank, Jing Min realized he was being a bit paranoid. He reached out and put his arm around her, but before he could say anything, Chu Wuyang removed her hand from his shoulder, put down the hairdryer, walked to the bedside, and lifted the covers to lie down.

"Get some rest, I'm sleepy."

Upon hearing this, Jingmin pursed his lips and went to the bathroom.

Soon, the mattress beside the bed sank slightly, and the person lay down.

He slowly moved closer to her from behind, hugged her, and kissed her forehead.

A gentle voice, carrying a touch of tenderness, rang out in the quiet of the night, saying, "Goodnight."

——

The next morning, just as Chu Wuyang stepped out of the courtyard gate, the door opposite opened, and he was startled...

Yang Jinchu was tall and slender, wearing an exquisitely tailored black trench coat over a snow-white shirt, exuding an air of aloofness and refined elegance.

He was startled when he met the gaze from the other side, his eyes flickering slightly.

But soon his brows furrowed, his eyes turning icy, his expression sharp and cold, radiating a chilling aura. Without a word, he turned to leave, devoid of warmth.

"Wait for me!"

A series of hurried sounds came from behind. Wen Li closed the door, turned around, and saw the person opposite him.

What a coincidence! The room was arranged by the resort's butler. I really don't know if it was intentional or unintentional.

Wen Li glanced at Yang Jinchu's departing figure and sighed.

"Good morning, Young Master Wen," Jing Min greeted him.

"Good morning, Mr. Jing and Yangyang."

These are all well-known figures in high society; some polite greetings are still necessary.

As Chu Wuyang approached, Jing Min grabbed her wrist.

Their fingers intertwined, and their hands were now locked together.

She turned to look at him. Jing Min's expression was indifferent and calm, but his hands tightened their grip.

At this moment, she didn't completely try to break free, letting him do as he pleased. She took two steps forward to Wen Li before politely exchanging pleasantries.

"Brother Wenli, did you and Ajin stay here yesterday too?"

Wen Li glanced at Jing Min, raising an eyebrow. He slightly raised his chin, hands in his pockets.

"Isn't it obvious? Didn't you say there are many fun things to do at this resort? Ah Jin and I are planning to stay another day. Would you like to come with us?"

Faced with Wen Li's deliberate provocation, Jing Min frowned and said to Chu Wuyang,

"We have things to do at home, so we need to go home early after our morning tea to prepare. Young Master Wen, it's getting late, we'll head over now."

This was obviously a fabrication, and then she tried to pull Chu Wuyang away.

Wen Li spoke up,

"Is this a morning tea date with Jay Chou? Let's go, we're going the same way anyway."

Jing Min turned to look at him, her displeasure written all over her face. Wen Li, oblivious, smiled gently at Chu Wuyang and strode towards the restaurant.

The hot spring room was some distance from the restaurant, and Chu Wuyang and Jing Min, who were following behind, remained silent.

But Jingmin kept holding her hand.

She had been in a daze, not expecting Yang Jinchu to come over as well. Two years ago, she broke her engagement with them and married Jing Min instead. Although she and Yang Jinchu hadn't explicitly fallen out, they were practically enemies.

——

I still remember when I was in New York a few days ago,

The coldness with which Yang Jinchu threw the photo in her face was even more intense than when he saw her this morning.

"This is the man you chose; he's already sleeping with your cheap older sister."

She could give Jing Min the cold shoulder and be sarcastic at will, because he had wronged her.

But when facing Yang Jinchu, the roles were reversed; she was the one who should apologize.

Therefore, she couldn't help but care about Yang Jinchu's attitude and had no way of guessing the purpose of Yang Jinchu's return to China, whether it was for business or to visit relatives. It was really troubling!

Chu Wuyang, still in a daze, stumbled on the steps, but Jing Min, who was next to her, caught her quickly.

"What are you thinking about? Watch where you're going, don't be so reckless," Jing Min said with concern tinged with reproach.

"These young people are so affectionate; they're all lovey-dovey first thing in the morning."

Zhou's father's cheerful, teasing voice came from not far away.

Upon hearing the sound, Chu Wuyang looked up and saw a large group of people coming from behind Zhou's father.
