As Jing Min spoke, he anxiously pulled open Chu Wuyang's nightgown.
Upon seeing the traces of his "atrocity," he couldn't help but gasp in horror.
His brows furrowed, his eyes filled with heartache and self-reproach, he murmured:
"How did it get so serious?"
Chu Wuyang didn't want to reveal her penchant for showing off to others, so she quickly pulled her skirt back to cover herself completely.
After that, she remained silent, only glaring angrily at Jing Min with a face full of resentment.
That look seemed to say:
I'm angry, so I'm not telling you. Figure it out yourself.
The reason is actually quite obvious.
Knowing he was in the wrong, Jingmin quickly looked away and called a servant to get some ointment.
When he approached with the ointment, Chu Wuyang looked reluctant and twisted her body to avoid him.
Jing Min looked apologetic, repeatedly whispering apologies and raising his hand to assure her:
"I was wrong, I will never do it again, please forgive me this time."
It's hard to say how credible his guarantee is, but Chu Wuyang is quite pleased with it at the moment.
Her eyes darted around, and she seized the opportunity to say:
"I plan to work in KOALA in a while."
Upon hearing this, Jing Min quickly swallowed back the word "no" that had just escaped his lips.
He softened his tone and said:
"No, let's take another look."
He's just managed to appease them; if he's too forceful, they'll definitely say he's meddling too much.
So he forced a gentle smile and tried to persuade her tactfully:
"So, you don't want to practice horseback riding anymore?"
"If you don't like this, we can play something else."
"Wasn't the shooting you mentioned before quite good?"
As he spoke, he gently took Chu Wuyang's hand.
He gently stroked her face, his gaze never leaving it.
Chu Wuyang forcefully pulled her hand back, but the movement aggravated her wound.
She winced in pain, her eyes instantly filling with tears that seemed about to spill over at any moment.
Seeing this, Jingmin felt a pang of panic and wanted to reach out to comfort him again.
Yet, fearing to anger her, his hand froze in mid-air, his face filled with heartache and helplessness.
"Don't move around, or the wound will get worse."
His voice carried a hint of anxiety.
Chu Wuyang bit her trembling lower lip tightly, her pink lips gradually turning white, with fine teeth marks deeply embedded in them.
Her eyes were tightly closed, her long eyelashes trembling incessantly, as if she were desperately suppressing the turmoil within her heart.
He ignored all of Jing Min's attempts to be friendly and his words, exuding an air of listlessness.
He seemed to have lost interest in everything around him.
Looking at her like this, Jing Min felt as if his heart had fallen into an abyss, so heavy that he could hardly breathe.
His hands clenched unconsciously, as if he wanted to lock her to his side forever.
Never to be separated.
But involuntarily, an image of a bird that has lost its freedom floats into my mind.
Trapped in a cage, they may survive, but they lose their vitality and agility, leaving only endless sorrow and despair.
The thought clenched his heart, and a sharp pain shot through him.
He slowly released his grip on her hand, his knuckles white from the force of his grip.
The moment I let go, I felt a bit weak.
Chu Wuyang seemed to have lost her support, collapsing onto the bed like a fallen leaf.
Jingmin almost reflexively reached out to pull him again, however...
When his gaze fell upon the faint deathly pallor on her face, his heart clenched.
The hand involuntarily withdrew.
He stood there, frozen, for several seconds.
My throat felt like it was choked by something; I swallowed a few times with difficulty.
He spoke in a hoarse voice, filled with endless helplessness and resignation:
"Then, go if you want to!"
Hearing him agree, Chu Wuyang slowly opened her eyes in disbelief.
His eyes were full of suspicion; I thought he was going to keep pestering me for a while.
Too easy and unrealistic.
Seeing that the person actually reacted, Jingmin felt inexplicably more at ease.
He took the opportunity to also make demands.
"But are there conditions necessary for it to be done?"
Upon hearing that there were conditions for the exchange, Chu Wuyang's interest waned considerably, and she half-closed her eyes, intending to ignore him.
My nose was suddenly pinched.
Jingmin said, "You dare to make demands but not agree to conditions?"
A provocation tactic?
Chu Wuyang didn't fall for that act, but her resolve to get rid of him only strengthened.
What are the requirements and conditions?
Why does she have to beg to work at her own family's company?
After that, you have to agree to some conditions.
Is there any justice in this world?
Jingmin leaned down and kissed her hair.
"Don't lie to me, can you do it?"
Chu Wuyang lay on the bed, turning her head away from his touch.
You could tell from even the strands of her hair that she was out of breath.
Jing Min scooped the person up and held them in his arms, letting out a helpless sigh.
"You're so hot-tempered! I'm just trying to talk to you nicely!"
"Not giving an inch"
"Can't you even do this much?"
The second half of his sentence was spoken cautiously, yet it also sounded like he was asking himself a question.
Hearing this request, Chu Wuyang, who was held in someone's arms,
Of course, that's impossible; one can only bury one's head even deeper.
Silence is the best answer.
Jingmin, unable to hear the answer he wanted, felt a nameless anger rising within him.
This fire desperately needs her clear answer to be extinguished.
Even if it's a lie, she wouldn't agree?
He clenched his fists, trying to reassure himself.
Even if it was a false answer he elicited,
