As soon as he finished speaking, Jing Min paused in peeling the apple, the blade making a shallow mark on the surface of the green apple.
The air seemed to freeze instantly. His expression didn't change much, but his breathing carried a strange chill.
Yun Yang, who was closest to the blanket, seemed to sense something and unconsciously pulled the blanket up and shrank her body.
"You came to see me today just for this?"
Jing Min spoke slowly, his voice deep and cold, as if carrying shards of ice.
Each word seemed to spring out from between his teeth.
Chu Wuyang was completely unaffected and was about to nod in agreement when
Jing Min interrupted her sharply, speaking first:
You'd better think this through!
He glanced down at his watch, a hint of impatience in his eyes.
"I don't have much time today, so just say what you want to talk about."
"If that's the case, then it'll never end."
"I'm not in the mood to deal with anything else..."
Chu Wuyang took a deep breath, staring at him with resentment, her nails almost digging into her palms.
He did it on purpose! He absolutely did it on purpose!
He must have known that she came today because of the bar owner, so he deliberately changed the subject and took the initiative.
The two faced each other in silence.
An invisible gunpowder smell filled the air, and the atmosphere in the ward instantly froze.
Yun Yang glanced at Jing Min, then at Chu Wuyang.
Seemingly frightened by the tense atmosphere,
He spoke in a weak and trembling voice:
"You... don't do this, it's all because of me... Miss Chu, please don't misunderstand, Jingmin and I really have nothing going on."
"He only felt guilty towards me because I was injured because of him."
"As for what happened just now... he was just worried about my health and afraid that the pollen allergy would worsen my condition, so he was careless and yelled at you."
Her words were gentle and considerate, as if she were advising for reconciliation.
But every word she uttered was an attempt to defend Jing Min, positioning herself as the victim.
It was as if all the disputes stemmed from her misfortune, rather than from other emotional entanglements.
Chu Wuyang felt a cold laugh rising in his heart, and was about to speak...
But Jing Min interrupted him directly, his tone impatient:
"Shut up!"
Unexpectedly,
Chu Wuyang also spoke at the same time, coldly uttering two words:
"Shut up!"
The two spoke in unison.
Yun Yang's face paled slightly, and she looked at Jing Min with a wronged expression, as if she had been frightened.
Chu Wuyang's eyes met hers; it was initially just a casual glance.
But then she suddenly noticed that Yun Yang's hand was gently resting on her lower abdomen.
Her pupils contracted slightly, and alarm bells suddenly rang in her mind.
What does that mean? Does it mean she's pregnant?
Since they haven't contacted each other privately yet, bringing things up at this point wouldn't maximize their benefits.
Is Yun Yang implying to her that it's not the right time yet?
She suppressed the complex emotions in her heart.
I took a deep breath, blinked, and tried to stay calm.
He then shook his head slightly, his tone carrying a hint of compromise:
"no."
Jing Min frowned slightly, gazing at her with a deep look, as if waiting for her to continue.
Chu Wuyang pursed her lips, paused, and finally spoke:
"I have something else to discuss with you."
Jing Min raised an eyebrow, a half-smile playing on his lips.
They seemed quite interested in her sudden change of heart.
He slowly picked up the green apple he had just half-peeled and continued to gently swirl the peel with the knife, his tone indifferent:
"Oh? What is it? Tell me about it."
Chu Wuyang glanced at Yun Yang, hesitated for a moment, and considered whether he should avoid talking to her first.
But then I thought about it again, and realized that this wasn't really a secret, so there was nothing to hide.
She simply asked directly:
"Did you do the bar owner thing?"
Jingmin didn't stop peeling the apple, nor did he even lift his eyelids.
"Um?"
"He is innocent."
Chu Wuyang's tone was dissatisfied, with a hint of accusation.
"I begged Ah He to take me there. She knew nothing about it. Aren't you being a bit unreasonable?"
"Just because you're rich and powerful, does that give you the right to trample on other people's livelihoods? Does having money and influence make you superior?"
Her voice was filled with anger, her accusing gaze fixed on him, and her eyes flashed with undisguised condemnation.
Jing Min finally stopped what he was doing, slowly raised his eyes to look at her.
A faint smile played at the corners of his lips, his eyes deep and unfathomable, seemingly carrying a complex and ambiguous emotion.
"So what if you have capital?"
He scoffed softly, his tone languid, yet subtly carrying a dangerous undertone.
"But despite all your scheming, you're still so passive and can't get what you want. Capital really is amazing?"
These words were ambiguous, yet seemed to conceal a deeper meaning, pointing directly to some of her past that she was unwilling to mention.
Chu Wuyang's heart tightened slightly.
He subconsciously turned to look at Yun Yang, his gaze sharp, as if testing something.
Yun Yang trembled slightly, then gently shook her head, her expression docile, as if she truly knew nothing.
No exposure?
Chu Wuyang's eyes flashed, suppressing the unease in her heart, and her tone immediately hardened:
"No matter what you think, the bar owner is innocent. You have to find a way to get him out, otherwise..."
Before she could finish speaking, Jing Min raised an eyebrow, looking at her with a half-smile.
As if waiting for her to say something next,
It was as if he was certain that she couldn't do anything to him.
"otherwise?"
He spoke slowly, his tone tinged with sarcasm.
