The two walked out of the movie theater. Ye Yuhe had received a phone call from home earlier, and after saying goodbye to Chu Wuyang, she left in a hurry.
Chu Wuyang stood there, only then noticing that her phone had more than a dozen missed calls because it had been put on silent.
Her brows furrowed instantly, a hint of indifference flashing in her eyes. She casually stuffed her phone into her bag, making no intention of returning the call.
I walked straight toward the mall exit.
As soon as I stepped out of the mall, a familiar black luxury car came into view.
The car was parked arrogantly in the middle of the gate, attracting the attention of passersby.
The mall staff, however, seemed to be frozen in place, and not one of them stepped forward to stop them.
Chu Wuyang paused, her lips unconsciously tightening.
He took a few steps forward, opened the back door, and got in.
"Come sit in the front."
A familiar, cool, deep voice came from the driver's seat.
Chu Wuyang stiffened slightly; he had actually come in person.
A slightly mocking smile played on her lips as she said:
"You have so much free time?"
"Isn't work very busy?"
His words were full of sarcasm and distance.
A man's voice came in a low, slow tone:
"It's the end of the year, so I'm quite busy."
Jing Min raised his hand and rubbed his temples, his brows furrowing slightly, seemingly extremely tired.
"Don't ignore the phone in the future, and let us know where you're going so as not to worry us!"
Chu Wuyang, like a powder keg that had been ignited, immediately retorted:
"So you know what this feeling is like!"
This rhetorical question
Jing Min was speechless for a moment, as if someone had grabbed him by the throat.
A brief silence fell over the carriage.
Chu Wuyang snorted coldly, reached into her bag, took out her phone, and threw it forcefully toward the driver's seat.
Fueled by her anger, the phone struck Jing Min squarely.
Jing Min grunted, his brows furrowed, his tone carrying a hint of displeasure and reproach:
"What's with the stubbornness!"
Chu Wuyang's eyes were as cold as ice shards, and her voice was as cold as the night wind:
"How interesting! They're doing surveillance again,"
"Put location tracking on my phone?"
Jingmin gently wiped the scratch on his forehead from the phone with a tissue.
He paused, then his voice returned to calm:
"I'm talking to Uncle Ye about something; he made the phone call..."
He didn't say anything more, but the meaning couldn't be clearer.
Chu Wuyang knew in her heart that she had misunderstood him this time, but she was inexplicably holding back her anger and had no intention of apologizing.
"Come sit in the front!"
Jingmin's voice held a hint of helplessness as he repeated,
After saying that, he sat there quietly, waiting for her to make a move.
Half a minute passed.
Chu Wuyang seemed to be nailed to the back seat, not moving an inch.
Jing Min turned around, looking somewhat displeased. He slightly raised his chin, his eyes conveying a clear message.
Chu Wuyang, however, seemed not to have seen it, turning her head to look out the car window.
In the distance, a huge poster promoting Yun Yang's new movie stood there.
The image on the poster appeared particularly glaring and irritating under the light.
In an instant, the atmosphere outside the mall suddenly became lively.
The crowd surged like a tide, layer upon layer, converging in one direction.
Surrounded by numerous bodyguards and staff, Yun Yang stood gracefully in front of the huge poster, ready to take a photo.
In an instant, the flashbulbs of the cameras kept flashing, making her shine.
With a smile on her face and a calm and composed look in her eyes, Yun Yang slightly raised her chin and softly explained to the surrounding media and fans:
"I haven't been seen recently because I was injured while filming and have been focusing on recuperating."
Her voice was soft yet clear, and concerned whispers could be heard from the crowd from time to time.
This is absolutely true.
The internet is already flooded with photos of her hospital rehabilitation treatment posted by her studio and by passersby she encountered.
In those photos, she is either wearing protective gear or sitting in a wheelchair; her face is slightly pale, but her beautiful features are still undeniable.
This touched the hearts of fans, who left messages in the comments section expressing their concern and best wishes.
And at this moment, judging from this grand entrance scene,
Her popularity is self-evident.
Cheers, screams, and calls of her name mingled together, as if setting the night sky ablaze.
Inside the car, Chu Wuyang's gaze fell through the car window onto the bustling scene outside.
She turned her head to look at Jing Min in the driver's seat, staring directly at him, and said:
"You've always had such a good eye for investment,"
"With this kind of support, it looks like Yun Yang's movie is going to be a huge hit."
"You're going to make a fortune."
Her tone was somewhat sarcastic.
Jing Min's gaze slowly shifted to the window as Chu Wuyang spoke.
His gaze lingered on Yun Yang for a brief moment before he looked away.
His face didn't reveal much expression; he merely raised his eyebrows slightly and twitched the corners of his mouth slightly.
He turned his head to look at Chu Wuyang and said in a calm voice:
"It's nothing, just a little money, enough to buy you a ring to play with."
His tone was relaxed and casual, one hand resting casually on the steering wheel, his fingers tapping rhythmically.
His other hand rested casually on his leg.
Chu Wuyang casually fiddled with her fingers, her nails gleaming with a cold, hard light under the lamp.
She slightly raised her head, glancing at Jing Min out of the corner of her eye, and asked in as casual a tone as possible:
