The clubhouse's elevators were originally high-end custom-made and rarely experienced such basic malfunctions.
The staff had received rigorous training, yet they couldn't get through on the phone at the crucial moment.
At the time, she was feeling dizzy and disoriented, which is why she didn't immediately contact other responsible persons to handle the situation, and instead made Mo Sangyu make the trip.
Since Jingmin can remember those details clearly, it means that he was conscious at the time.
And what about her? She passively endured his aggressive words from beginning to end.
In reality, she was in a daze and confused at the time, and even making a phone call was difficult for her, so how could she have the mind to "scheme"?
Moreover, if she really intended to seduce him,
A sober Jing Min, with far greater strength than her, could easily push her away.
She slowly raised her head, her eyes clear and firm, her voice a little hoarse, yet each word distinct.
"Since Mr. Jing is so certain that I have ulterior motives, then please tell me—how could you, who are sober, and I, who am not sober…be sleeping in the same bed?"
"Good question,"
Jing Min's eyes were filled with interest as he pressed Chu Wuyang against the wall, his oppressive and controlling aura leaving Chu Wuyang with nowhere to retreat.
He raised his fingers and gently stroked Chu Wuyang's face, then leaned close to Chu Wuyang's ear with a strangely ambiguous touch.
"Miss Chu has thrown herself at me several times, I originally didn't want to pay you any attention..."
"But my good time with my wife was just interrupted, and I still have a burning desire in my heart... And Miss Chu just happened to come to me of her own accord, so naturally I have no reason to refuse."
Chu Wuyang looked at him incredulously. What did he mean?
Using her as a tool for sexual gratification?
Humiliation and anger surged up together.
She couldn't take it anymore and slapped him across the face.
"Shameless!"
The slap I imagined never came.
Jingmin held her fist and rubbed it intimately.
"Miss Chu, don't you know?"
"Men can't resist temptation, especially when it comes to Miss Chu's little tricks of playing hard to get; they're incredibly alluring."
Chu Wuyang felt as if all the blood in her body had frozen. She unconsciously widened her eyes and stared at him.
His words made no attempt to conceal his depraved character. She didn't know what he had gone through over the years that made him so casual and indiscriminate.
When they were together before, besides Yun Yang, countless women tried to get into his bed, but he always treated them with cold indifference, showing disgust and distance.
She firmly believed that he had never done anything substantially out of line.
But now he acts as if betraying his wife is no big deal, as if it were nothing at all.
He is no longer the Jing Min he once was.
She was in extreme pain, even more so than seeing him with Mo Sangyu, because it made her doubt and regret whether her initial decision had been right.
But nothing is more important than life, isn't it?
But in order to keep him alive, they lost so much: their child; she had to betray him, leaking company secrets that left him with nothing; and finally, the fatal bullet.
She didn't expect him to understand or even forgive her, but she hoped he could live a good life.
Instead of being as depraved and shameless as he is now, the fact that he could utter such outrageous nonsense as "men can't resist temptation" almost certainly means that, given the situation last night, he wouldn't have refused any woman who threw herself at him.
Her heart ached as if it were being torn apart, the pain making it hard to breathe.
Jing Min leaned closer, his voice indifferent.
"What are you thinking? You... regret it?"
Chu Wuyang looked up and stared into Jing Min's dark, inky eyes. Even though her heart was riddled with wounds, her voice remained calm.
"Regret what?"
