The man who arrived was Pi Dapeng, but he had lost a lot of weight compared to a few days ago. The bones in his face were almost sticking out, but his eyes were still greedy and sticky, making him repulsive.
Feng Mingshu pulled his younger siblings behind him, then chopped the tree trunk with his knife, coldly uttering a single word: "Get lost!"
"Feng, don't be so heartless. You wrecked my bike that night, and I got a beating from my dad when I got home, but I didn't blame you... Hey, don't use a knife, swords have no eyes..."
"Pi Dapeng, what are you doing?"
Suddenly, a furious shout came from ahead. Pi Dapeng was distracted for a moment, and a cold light flashed across his sleeve. He felt a sharp pain in his arm, hissed, and clutched his arm as he stumbled backward: "Feng, are you serious?!"
In the blink of an eye, the people in front had run over, separating Feng Mingshu from Pi Dapeng, and asked worriedly, "Mingshu, are you alright?"
"Hey, isn't this Squad Leader Zhang? You're here to be the hero and save the beauty, but why are you followed by a little maid? Tsk, you even have a gauze on your brow bone, did the little maid who saved you leave it there?" Pi Dapeng glanced at Zhang Yunxiao and Chu Xuanxuan behind him and made a sarcastic remark.
Chu Xuanxuan rushed over and yelled at Pi Dapeng, "You filthy scoundrel, who are you calling a little maid!"
Zhang Yunxiao nervously covered her brow bone and explained to Feng Mingshu, "I injured myself by accident, it has nothing to do with anyone else."
The twins stared wide-eyed at the lively scene before them. At that moment, they didn't know the term "battleground," but they were having a good time.
However, the older sister has to come out first.
Just as the twins were about to pull their older sister away, she swiftly climbed the tree, pulled out a knife, and began hacking at the branches. She then coldly said to those below, "If you don't get out of here, whoever gets hurt by the falling branches deserves it!"
Pi Dapeng knew how ruthless Feng Mingshu was and how accurate he was. He covered his arm and backed away, saying, "Fine, I'll leave. See you next time, Feng."
He ran away as soon as he finished speaking, afraid that if he was too slow, the branch would hit him.
But Chu Xuanxuan clearly didn't understand this and continued to shout. Soon, she was hit on the head and face by a tree branch, covered her face and screamed. Even Zhang Yunxiao was hit by the branch.
Zhang Yunxiao pulled Chu Xuanxuan away, looked up at Feng Mingshu in the tree and said, "I said I wouldn't bother you anymore, but I rushed over because I saw Pi Dapeng causing you trouble. Now it seems I was meddling. You don't need my help."
"Goodbye, Feng."
Zhang Yunxiao left dejectedly. Chu Xuanxuan glared fiercely at the tree, then called out "Brother Yunxiao" and chased after him.
The twins clapped and cheered, "Sister, you're amazing!"
Feng Mingshu smiled reservedly, cut off a tree branch, dragged it to the ancestral tomb, peeled off the bark, carved words on it, and slammed it into the cenotaph.
Just then, a gust of wind blew by, stirring up some soil from the grave.
Thousands of miles away in the port city, amidst the bright lights and revelry, Feng Qiyuan, who was drinking with a beautiful woman, suddenly shivered and spilled the wine in his cup.
“Oh dear, Young Master Feng, you are destined for a calamity. You should return to your ancestral home and rebuild your ancestral tomb to avert this misfortune,” a man in a hempen jacket said solemnly.
Feng Qiyuan slammed his wine glass down: "Go back my ass! I'm living a carefree life in Hong Kong, I'm not going back to be bossed around by that haggard old woman!"
Even if there is a calamity, I am not afraid!
After returning from the cemetery, Feng Mingshu bought small firecrackers for the twins.
After arriving home, the twins stuffed a few snacks into their mouths to fill their stomachs, and then happily took their little firecrackers and went to play with their friends.
Feng Mingshu stayed at home, preparing the New Year's Eve dinner with her mother, occasionally glancing at her watch.
As Yu Jingqiu rolled out the dough, she asked her daughter, "Did Zhuzhu make an appointment with someone?" when her daughter checked her watch for the tenth time.
When her secret was exposed, Feng Mingshu almost crushed the dumpling in her hand. She quickly tried to salvage the situation while replying, "Mom, it's because one of my classmates is doing poorly in his grades. He asked me to help him correct his mistakes. We agreed to meet at five o'clock this afternoon. I'll go out and get his notebook and come back soon. It won't take much time."
Yu Jingqiu asked, "Shall we meet near our house?"
Feng Mingshu nodded: "Yes, very close."
Yu Jingqiu smiled and said, "It's quite cold outside. Why don't you invite your classmate over for a cup of hot tea? If he doesn't have many problems, you can tutor him in person; that should be more effective."
Upon hearing her mother's suggestion, Feng Mingshu immediately shook her head: "My classmate is shy and doesn't want to come to our house. Besides, he has a lot of mistakes, and it won't be long before he gets them corrected. And today is New Year's Eve, so I don't want him to stay too long..."
Yu Jingqiu watched as her daughter's ears turned red with anxiety as she tried to find an excuse. She chuckled and said, "Then forget it. We'll invite him in when he wants to come over sometime."
Feng Mingshu breathed a sigh of relief and quickly nodded in agreement.
She still remembered how her mother had yelled at Zhou Jinshan yesterday, so she didn't mention Zhou Jinshan's name because she didn't want to upset her mother or cause her any misunderstanding.
After all, Feng Mingshu only intended to tutor Zhou Jinshan in his academic subjects for a short period of time, and neither of them planned to develop any other relationship, so there was no need to explain this to their families.
As the clock ticked closer to five o'clock, the twins, who had grown hungry from playing, ran home. The dumplings were then put into the pot and began to simmer in the hot water.
Seeing that there were only five minutes left, Feng Mingshu told her mother, put on her cotton-padded coat and scarf, and went outside.
"Pearl, wait a minute."
Yu Jingqiu stopped her, quickly scooped up about 10 dumplings, drained them, and put them into a food box: "Take these and give them to your classmate to try. It's only polite."
Feng Mingshu originally didn't want to take it, but when she heard her mother's admonitory tone about "etiquette," she had no choice but to accept it: "Thank you, Mom. I'll be back soon."
