Chapter 88 The First Spring Rain

Feng Mingshu had just complained about Zhou Jinshan being clingy, and when she came to pick him up from the tailor shop in the evening, she told him that he was going to participate in special training for half a month.

Feng Mingshu didn't say anything. After they got home, she helped him pack his clothes, including the shirt from last night, and she sewed the buttons back on this morning.

She carried her luggage downstairs and found Zhou Jinshan in the kitchen kneading dough. A large bowl of dough was being rolled and flattened in his hands, showing great elasticity.

“I’ll do it myself. You take your luggage back to the military academy,” Feng Mingshu said to him.

Zhou Jinshan turned around and said, "There's no rush. I'll steam some buns for you before I leave."

"Then let me see if there's anything else I can bring you."

Feng Mingshu put down her luggage and was about to go upstairs, but Zhou Jinshan hooked his arm around her waist and pulled her into his arms: "You don't need to bring anything, just stay with me for a while."

The man's warm breath sprayed on her cheek, and Feng Mingshu dodged slightly: "Stop messing around. You can leave after you've kneaded the dough. I can steam buns."

Zhou Jinshan quickly kneaded the dough, and with the basin and hands clean, he put the lid on the basin and then used both hands to hold her waist.

Amid her gasp, Zhou Jinshan lowered his head and kissed her lips, then took the opportunity to explore her mouth, churning it wildly.

Feng Mingshu was so dazed by his kisses that she was unknowingly carried upstairs and pinned to the bed.

The man's breathing was deep and hot, and his kisses went from her lips to her chin, ears, and then to her delicate, fair neck.

Feng Mingshu realized for the first time how sensitive her neck was, and she couldn't help but arch her body and hug the man's head tightly.

The man's lips pressed against the skin behind her ear, his breath coming in ragged gasps as he pleaded, "Ming Shu, is it okay today?"

Feng Mingshu wanted to say no, but the two had been married for half a month and her period had ended, so it would be too much for her to postpone it any further.

She suppressed the trembling in her heart, closed her eyes, and let go of his hand.

Zhou Jinshan felt his wife trembling. If it weren't for this special training, he would have liked to give her more time to adapt.

But at this moment, pressing down on her soft body, Zhou Jinshan could not suppress the impulse in his heart, nor could he stop the magma in his blood from erupting.

He raised his hand and placed it on her collar, his fingertips probing inside to touch her smooth skin. The girl beneath him suddenly opened her eyes, trembling as she said to him, "Can you hurry up?"

She thought, "Hurry up, so this torment can end sooner."

Unexpectedly, her words untied the man's restraints, releasing a ferocious tiger.

Soon, every inch of her skin was marked with the man's marks. Her voice was hoarse from screaming, but she couldn't make him slow down in the slightest. Her body felt like it had been split in two, and she was in so much pain that she left fingernail scratches on the man's back...

A sudden gust of wind picked up outside, and the first rain of the year, the first spring rain, began to fall.

Rain fell on the branches, seeped into the earth, and pattered against the window, making a rhythmic sound.

Feng Mingshu didn't know when the rain stopped; she only vaguely knew that the man had washed her body, fed her water, and spoken in her ear.

But she was too sleepy to open her eyes and couldn't hear what he was saying, so she fell into a deep sleep.

When she woke up again, it was the next morning. Her legs were still weak, but her stomach was growling with hunger.

She forced herself out of bed, washed up, and went downstairs to the kitchen. There she saw a pile of steamed buns drying on the counter, and a bowl of porridge, a plate of vegetables, and an egg in the steamer.

The steamer basket had long since cooled down.

She suddenly remembered what Zhou Jinshan had whispered in her ear; he must have told her to take a nap and then come down to eat.

Zhou Jinshan probably didn't expect to sleep until the next morning.

But Feng Mingshu was furious just thinking about this man and didn't remember any of his kindness at all.

During the special training, Zhou Jinshan suddenly sneezed.

Lu Xiangqian chuckled and nudged his waist with his elbow: "Old Zhou, your health isn't what it used to be. You caught a cold after just one rain shower... Ah!"

Zhou Jinshan grabbed Lu Xiangqian's arm and, amidst the latter's cry of pain, asked calmly, "Who can't?"

"I can't do it!" Lu Xiangqian immediately admitted defeat without the slightest hesitation.

Looking over, Zhai Qingping vaguely sensed that something about Zhou Jinshan was different.

However, over the past two weeks, a rift has grown between the two, and Zhai Qingping has not asked Zhou Jinshan why.

Zhou Jinshan's senses were as sharp as ever. He released Lu Xiangqian, turned his head to look over, and their eyes met.

It was as if there was an invisible smoke of gunpowder.

Zhou Jinshan suddenly raised an eyebrow and smiled, a smile that resembled the satiated and relaxed expression of a tiger after a full meal.

Zhai Qingping frowned.

"Assemble!"

As soon as the whistle blew, all the trainees immediately sprang into action.

The team quickly assembled and, braving the first rain of spring, set off towards their destination.

...

Feng Mingshu began living alone and once again felt the emptiness of the two-story villa, which seemed even more empty than before.

Therefore, she doesn't like staying at home.

Every day, I would rush to the tailor shop early in the morning and not get home until it was almost dark. I would eat some steamed buns and stir-fry some vegetables to make do with my food, and then go to the sewing machine room on the second floor to bury myself in my work.

It seemed that this would alleviate her longing for her family and the loneliness of her life.

But this didn't last long before she encountered a new problem: she ran out of vegetables.

She had been to the market before, but this was the first time she had ever experienced fighting with elderly people for vegetables so early in the morning.

Her shoes were dirty, her clothes were wrinkled, and her braids were a little loose, but Feng Mingshu could feel a sense of warmth and life in them, and she smiled.

"Sister, you look so beautiful when you smile, like a fairy."

A little girl carrying a shopping basket spoke to her with bright eyes.

Feng Mingshu lowered his head and ruffled the little girl's hair, then smiled and said, "You're pretty too, you're a little fairy."

The little girl became shy and ran up to a woman behind a vegetable stall. She grabbed the woman's clothes and whispered, "Mommy, that pretty lady said I'm a fairy!"

Feng Mingshu and the woman smiled at each other, and they naturally became acquainted.

The woman, surnamed Cai, worked at the market. She was very interested in the style of Feng Mingshu's clothes. After asking her about them, she learned that Feng Mingshu had made them herself, and then she hesitated to speak.

Feng Mingshu smiled and said, "If Sister Cai trusts my skills, you can ask me to make it for you once you've collected enough fabric."

Sister Cai immediately perked up and pushed her daughter in front of her: "I wanted to make this little girl some clothes, and I've almost collected enough fabric."

"How about this, you bring the fabric to the market tomorrow, I'll take it back, make it, and then bring it to you, if that's convenient for you," Feng Mingshu said with a smile.

Sister Cai nodded repeatedly: "It's very convenient for me. I'll bring the fabric over tomorrow. Sister, I can tell you're very approachable. In the future, if you want to buy any vegetables, just tell me in advance and I'll prepare them for you."

Feng Mingshu was naturally grateful. Although the market was full of lively atmosphere, she was no match for the elderly people with her small stature.

Sometimes even children can't compete with it, after all, children have more drive.

She is a mature adult and should respect the elderly and care for the young.
