Extra past life 6

Memories flashed through his mind. Zhou Jinshan met Feng Mingshu's confused yet stubborn gaze and slowly said, "You asked me before if we had met. Now I'll answer you—yes, we have met."

"It's okay if you can't remember, we can get to know each other again."

Feng Mingshu remained silent.

Zhou Jinshan did not insist. He left a marriage certificate, told her to rest well, and then left.

Feng Mingshu stood in the bedroom on the second floor, watching the man's back disappear into the night, and for a moment felt that the scene in front of her was familiar.

That night, she closed the doors and windows tightly, but still couldn't sleep soundly.

In her dream, countless images seemed to flash by, fragmented and blurry, which she tried to piece together, but to no avail.

Ring ring—

The doorbell rang suddenly. Feng Mingshu opened her eyes and found that it was already bright outside. She drew back the curtains and saw a strange man standing outside the gate.

A man in military uniform.

She considered ignoring it, but the other party seemed certain that someone was in the building and kept ringing the doorbell.

She changed her clothes, went downstairs, and walked to the courtyard gate. The soldiers outside noticed her and shouted inside, "Old Zhou, what are you dawdling for? Open the gate now!"

Feng Mingshu pursed his lips, opened the iron gate a crack, and said to the dark-skinned soldier outside, "Are you here to see Commander Zhou? He's not here."

The other person paused for a moment when they saw her, then blurted out, "Old Zhou has been refusing to get married because he's been waiting for you, hasn't he?"

Feng Mingshu was taken aback by his question, and a piece of information came to mind: "Commander Zhou has never been married?"

Seeing the confusion and doubt on her face, Lu Xiangqian quickly spoke up for Old Zhou: "Comrade, don't be misled by the rumors outside. Old Zhou is absolutely fine. I can vouch for him with my honor. You two will definitely have children in the future..."

Seeing that the other party was about to continue, Feng Mingshu, whose cheeks were already flushed, quickly shook his head and interrupted: "Comrade, you misunderstand. I have no relationship with Chief Zhou."

"Comrade, don't deny it. I know Old Zhou, he's a..."

"Lu Xiangqian, what nonsense are you spouting?"

A cold, stern voice suddenly rang out. Feng Mingshu looked up and saw Zhou Jinshan striding over from across the street. The man outside the door happily gave him a hug, but he pushed him away in disgust.

However, it is still evident that the two have an excellent relationship and a deep bond of camaraderie.

Feng Mingshu returned to the house and went upstairs to the second floor, but faint sounds could be heard coming from below.

"Old Zhou, you're making such slow progress! My son's almost in middle school, and you still haven't gotten married. Are you really that hopeless... Ouch!"

Feng Mingshu closed the bedroom door, shutting out all the noise.

Lu Xiangqian stayed for lunch and then left. Before leaving, he greeted Feng Mingshu with great respect and courtesy.

The building was quiet again, with only the sound of running water, as Zhou Jinshan washed dishes in the kitchen.

Feng Mingshu made a great effort to walk to the kitchen door, but looking at the man's tall back, nervousness enveloped her again, and she couldn't help but bite her finger.

Just then, the man turned around, saw her biting her hand, and wanted to say something but stopped himself.

Feng Mingshu realized this, and she stopped biting her nails until they were worn down. Her face flushed, and she said, "You see, I have many health problems. I'm not young anymore, I'm not pretty, and my health isn't very good. I might not be able to have children in the future. There's absolutely no benefit for you to marry me..."

"Ming Shu, what I want to marry is you as a person, it has nothing to do with any of that."

Zhou Jinshan interrupted her nervous words and gently took her hand: "Mingshu, I have waited for you for many years. I can continue to wait, but we are not young anymore. Can we get our marriage certificate first, and then we can get to know each other slowly?"

The man's palm was hot and strong, and Feng Mingshu felt as if she had fallen into a net, warm and tempting.

Feng Mingshu bit her lip hard, looked up at him and said, "I have a younger brother and sister-in-law, whom I've been separated from for more than ten years. I want to see them."

Some things don't need to be said too explicitly, but we both understand each other.

Zhou Jinshan nodded in agreement: "I'll make the arrangements."

In fact, Zhou Jinshan had already made these arrangements before going to the farm.

Three months later, Feng Mingshu was reunited with her younger brother and sister, whom she had been separated from for more than ten years.

Her younger siblings had grown up and were somewhat distant from her, but Feng Mingshu still wept with joy. It was already a wonderful thing to see them grow up safely.

That day, she kept her promise and went to the Civil Affairs Bureau with Zhou Jinshan to get their marriage certificate.

When the red seal was stamped, the two became a legal couple. Feng Mingshu felt as if an invisible thread was connecting her to the man beside her.

Regardless of the past, now that they are husband and wife, they should stay together for life.

Noticing her gaze, Zhou Jinshan quickly put away the marriage certificate, then took her hand and leaned down to discuss, "Mingshu, shall we go to the department store to buy some wedding candy?"

“Okay.” Feng Mingshu nodded.

The guards who had been waiting outside watched in astonishment as Commander Zhou rode a bicycle with his new wife into the bustling street.

Is a bicycle really more comfortable than a Jeep?

Before the guard could figure out the problem, he met the leader's first child a year later, whose nickname was Mao Mao.

Two years later, Mao Mao had twin sisters.

Little Mao Mao breathed a sigh of relief; his grandma had finally stopped nagging him about bringing honor to the family.
