Miss you

Miss you

Xia Tangyue's head was buzzing and she could taste the bloody taste of rust in her mouth. She trembled and supported herself on the edge of the sofa. The roar in her ears drowned out Xia Xiucheng's roar.

Zhuang Ziwen said anxiously: "This, this, Old Xia, you!" She hurried over to check on Xia Tangyue's condition.

Xia Xiucheng awkwardly withdrew his hand: "Go, take her to the room first."

Xia Tangyue was pulled up by Zhuang Ziwen and stuffed into the room, which was locked with a click.

She fell down on the cold floor, the dull pain from her knees hitting the foot of the bed was nothing compared to the burning sensation on her cheeks. She stared at the locked door, listening to the murmurs of discussion outside, and suddenly felt absurd and ridiculous.

She touched her pocket and found it was empty. Her cell phone had been taken away. They probably feared that she would inform Wen Zheng.

The room was very quiet, so quiet that even the sound of the engine being turned off downstairs could be heard clearly.

She guessed that Wen Zheng had come.

The only sound through the door was Xia Xiucheng's yelling, all kinds of harsh words like "bastard", "beast", "stinky outsider" and so on poured out of his mouth. Wen Zheng, however, said nothing from beginning to end, letting him curse.

For a long, long time.

The clatter of furniture being knocked over finally died down.

She heard Wen Zheng's calm and weighty voice.

"What does it take to marry your daughter?"

Xia Xiucheng snorted coldly, his eyes full of contempt: "Wen Zheng, my Xia family has been working hard in Beijing for decades, and we are well-known figures in the business circle. Who are you? The candidate for my Xia family's son-in-law is at least the heir of a certain company. You are not worthy!"

The air was so stagnant that it seemed frozen.

Xia Tangyue in the room was holding the door handle with trembling fingertips. Such disdain, such contemptuous attitude, she didn't dare to imagine Wen Zheng's current expression, and she was even more afraid that he would leave her because of this.

"Bang, bang, bang!" She pounded on the door with her clenched fists.

She didn’t know whether Wen Zheng made any final statement or not, as she couldn’t hear any voices from outside.

She sat on the floor dejectedly, her eyes lifeless, her cheeks burning with pain, so painful that she couldn't think.

The door was pushed open.

A ray of white light seeped in from the crack in the door.

Xia Tangyue narrowed his eyes.

Zhuang Ziwen put her cell phone on the table, took out two ice packs and put them on her face.

"Tangtang, your parents are doing this for your own good." Zhuang Ziwen said earnestly, "Your dad was just angry tonight and that's why he did that. Don't take it personally."

She went on to say, "What's so good about Wen Zheng? Although he used to be the president of Greater China, he doesn't even have a proper job now. He's from another city, and he has no family and no money, not to mention no resources. There are so many young talents in Beijing, who can't compare to him?"

"He just wants to fool you and see that you have a good family background. He wants to get a foothold in Beijing by climbing up the relationship with our family. Don't believe him. Listen to your mother and meet the son of the Zhao family some other day. He has already taken over the family business. If you marry him, you will be the young mistress of the family directly."

“…”

Xia Tangyue sneered.

Turning around and facing Zhuang Ziwen, he said, "Mom, you asked me to get married. Do you really want me to be happy? Or do you want to gain some benefits from my marriage and shift the responsibility?"

Zhuang Ziwen was stunned, frowning: "What are you talking about? Of course, mom wants you to be happy."

Xia Tangyue: "Since you want me to be happy, why do you force me to do something I don't want to do? You have never asked me what I think."

Zhuang Ziwen paused and said, "Mom and Dad have eaten more salt than you have eaten rice. The reason we do this is because we are afraid that you will be confused and suffer. Can Mom and Dad still harm you?"

"Sister-in-law, An An is scared and crying, please come out and take a look!" Xia Pengdan's shouts and Xia Chengan's loud cries were heard outside the door.

Zhuang Ziwen immediately became nervous, threw the ice pack on the ground and rushed out.

Xia Tangyue looked at her back and felt a chill in his heart.

She numbly picked up the ice pack, went to the bathroom to wash off the dust on her face, and then wrapped it in a clean towel and put it on her face. She opened her phone and found that Wen Zheng had called her several times an hour ago.

Calculating the time, it was just before he came to her house.

She held the phone in her hand and looked at the blue bear avatar in silence. Suddenly, she didn't know what to say to him.

From the beginning, his father had a big prejudice against Wen Zheng, and Wen Zheng must have felt it. If the two of them were together, they would never be able to get past their parents...

Xia Tangyue curled up on the sofa, feeling miserable, when an unusual sound was heard outside the floor-to-ceiling window, like something rubbing against something.

She was startled and quickly stood up and walked out of the window. As soon as she stepped onto the balcony, a black figure jumped up from under the railing and stopped steadily by the wall.

"you!"

Xia Tangyue's eyes widened.

The moonlight passed over the man's tall back, stretching his shadow diagonally. He walked slowly closer in the silver-like moonlight, his leather shoes rolling over the marble floor, his eyes filled with soft light like a deep pool.

Wen Zheng, wearing leather shoes and a shirt, climbed up the outer wall so gracefully?

Xia Tang jumped up and burst into tears, threw herself on him, and cried out aggrievedly: "Brother, brother..."

She cried breathlessly, her shoulders shook violently, her hands tightly grasped the hem of his shirt, and she trembled in his arms like a kitten drenched in rain.

Wen Zheng held her shoulders and brought her into the room, patting her back gently with his big hands to help her breathe.

He didn't say a word, just waiting for her to recover.

When Xia Tangyue had almost stopped crying, he pulled her hands away from her eyes, lowered his head, and saw red finger marks on both sides of her cheeks.

Wen Zheng's Adam's apple rolled violently, and his fingertips gently stroked the two glaring red marks. Blue veins snaked along his clenched fists to his forearms. He pursed his lips tightly and swallowed the anger that surged in his chest.

After a while, he leaned over and placed his hot forehead against hers.

"I'm sorry, brother, you've been wronged."

Xia Tangyue shook his head vigorously: "No, brother, it has nothing to do with you."

She sniffed and tried to speak complete sentences while choking: "You don't have to care about what my family said just now. They don't understand you. I don't want to go on a blind date. I said I don't want to go. You are the only one in my heart."

"Yeah, I know." Wen Zheng hugged her and let her sit on his lap. He picked up an ice pack and carefully applied it to her face to reduce the swelling.

After crying enough and venting all her grievances, Xia Tangyue collapsed exhausted into his arms.

"Brother, what should I do?"

Wen Zheng held her in his arms, his expression as gentle as ever, and gently stroked her nose lovingly: "Your task now is to sleep well, and I will take care of the rest."

"Remember the story I told you when you were little?"

Xia Tangyue raised her red eyes, a little confused, "Is it the story of a knight rescuing a princess?"

"right."

"Brother, what if I get kidnapped by a bad guy like the princess in the story?"

"Then my brother will be like the knight in the story and will bring you back at all costs."

The murmurs of childhood linger in my ears, embedded in the dark tide of memory.

Xia Tangyue fell asleep with tears on her face after crying until she was tired. Wen Zheng carried her to bed, covered her with a quilt, sat beside the bed, and looked at the finger marks on her face with a heavy gaze. Before leaving, he leaned over and kissed her between the eyebrows.

"Go to sleep, baby."

He returned to the first floor the same way he came. The cell phone in his pocket kept vibrating. It was a series of life-threatening calls from Zhu Shang.

"Hello." Wen Zheng got into the car and listened to him while controlling the steering wheel.

"I tried my best, but they were all so tight-lipped that I couldn't get any information out of them." Zhu Shang said on the other end, "Logically, my sister is such a well-behaved artist, who could she offend? Why are you targeting her for everything? What's your plan?"

"Yeah." Wen Zheng's voice was cold.

He hung up the phone and drove on the quiet ring road.

This was a road that he hated so much that he swore he would never set foot on it again. Unexpectedly, one day he would break free of this shackle himself and set foot on the place he least wanted to stay.

Although it was late at night, the manor was still brightly lit.

When the security guard at the gate saw his face, he was shocked at first, then hurriedly let him in and quickly notified the housekeeper Hou Yongyan, his voice full of shock.

"The young master is here!"
