Chapter 269 Greedy Orphan Nanny VS Mentally Retarded Young Master 36
Jiang Shen had initially thought he could wait a little longer, but he was still worried that something unexpected might happen.
Logically speaking, she wasn't the type of person to act so impulsively; sometimes, he even felt that she was much stronger than him.
Or perhaps she had already sensed something, which is why she deliberately did something so extreme.
But no matter what, they're here now.
If she really finds out, then we'll talk about it later.
Jiang Shen was actually quite familiar with this place. She had brought him here a few times before, and the two of them would play here. However, back then, the house was quite dilapidated, and there was dust everywhere.
After she moved back here, her assistant sent him photos of the house after she renovated it; they were taken during the day.
In the photo, the exterior walls of those bungalows have all been freshly painted a bright white. The windows have new glass, revealing pretty curtains inside. The small courtyard outside is also very clean, with many small flowers and grasses growing in the flowerbeds.
Unfortunately, it's already dark, and everything around us isn't very clear.
Only warm-colored light shone through the window, giving people a very cozy feeling.
Jiang Shen subconsciously straightened his clothes, then strode into the courtyard.
"Knock knock knock".
He arrived at the door and knocked lightly a few times.
When Jiang Zhiyi opened the door, she was surprised to see Jiang Shen.
If she had only suspected the things that happened before, his arrival now completely proved that she was right.
"What are you doing here?" Jiang Zhiyi's expression was not good.
Jiang Shen looked at her and said with the words he had prepared in advance, "I heard that you have been in some trouble recently, and I was worried about you, so I came to see you."
Jiang Zhiyi: "I heard? Where did you hear that from?"
Jiang Shen said in a calm tone, "Someone recognized the jewelry you sold, so I had my assistant check it out, and that's how I found out..."
Jiang Zhiyi sneered inwardly.
He now has plenty of excuses, and he can come up with a whole set of lies.
If she hadn't noticed something was wrong beforehand, his arrival would have been a lifesaver, relieving her immediate crisis.
Jiang Zhiyi: "You were the one who took all my money back then, weren't you? If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be short of money. Now you come here pretending to be all high and mighty, do you think I still need it?"
Jiang Shen: "Regarding what happened back then... no matter what, I just want to help you now. How much money do you need? I can give it to you."
"Help me? You're the one who ruined me. Don't think I don't know, you did all of this. You had someone prepare the project proposal, and you arranged for that widow and those debt collectors." Jiang Zhiyi stated these words directly in a declarative tone.
She's not going to beat around the bush with him now.
Jiang Zhiyi said sarcastically, "You rushed over here so eager to be a good person? To be a savior?"
Jiang Shen paused, of course he wouldn't admit it, "You can check all you want, I didn't do these things."
Jiang Zhiyi: "It definitely wasn't you who did it. You're so clean-cut. I could investigate and find nothing, but you're the one who ordered it. Do you think I'm stupid?"
Jiang Shen looked down at her, remaining silent for the moment.
Jiang Zhiyi: "Go and deal with those people. Don't let them come looking for me again. I have nothing left now, are you satisfied? What else do you want?"
If what happened before was her fault, that she hurt him and stabbed him in the back, then his current actions are tantamount to returning the favor.
Now that they're even, she no longer feels guilty or regretful towards him.
To put it another way, he's rich and powerful, yet he deliberately bullies a poor orphan like her; he's worse than an animal.
After a long pause, Jiang Shen said again, "I know that child is fake."
He later had someone investigate carefully and found out that it was all a forgery by her.
Jiang Zhiyi admitted directly: "Yes, I lied to you. But so what? It's all in the past, what's the point of you saying this now?"
Jiang Shen took her hand and asked the question that had been troubling him all along, "Why do you have to leave me? You were clearly happy when we were together. I would handle all the troubles you mentioned, you didn't have to worry at all, just leave them to me. If you want money, I can give it to you. So why do you have to do this?"
Jiang Zhiyi: "Because I don't like you."
"So who do you like?" Jiang Shen asked, frowning. "Or what kind of person do you like? I can change, I can learn."
Jiang Zhiyi: "I like everyone but you."
The two remained locked in a stalemate, and the atmosphere became somewhat silent for a moment.
Suddenly, a person appeared outside the courtyard, carrying a basket of vegetables.
The person who came was peering out from the gate of the courtyard.
Jiang Zhiyi walked straight past Jiang Shen and asked, "Aunt Zhang, what brings you here?"
"I brought you some vegetables. My husband hasn't been feeling well these past few days, so it's not convenient for us to go to the market to buy vegetables. I brought some for you all while the vegetables are still fresh."
"Thank you, Aunt Zhang." Jiang Zhiyi smiled and took the dishes.
Jiang Shen looked somewhat awkward. He lifted the curtain and went straight into the room.
If he remembered correctly, he seemed to have been beaten by this person before for stealing vegetables from the garden...
"Come in and have some tea," Jiang Zhiyi invited her to sit down.
"No, no, I'll head back now. There's still dinner cooking at home."
"Okay, take care."
After that, Jiang Zhiyi brought the vegetables inside.
Jiang Shen walked over to take the groceries from her hands, saying, "Let me put them away for you."
"Get out!" Jiang Zhiyi wouldn't let him touch her.
She turned around and went to the kitchen, putting all the vegetables into the refrigerator.
She has some obsessive-compulsive tendencies; the things in the refrigerator must be arranged neatly, so it took her some time to organize them.
Jiang Shen stood in the kitchen doorway watching her. He tried to start a conversation, saying, "This refrigerator is too small. Let's get a bigger one..."
It would have been better if he hadn't brought it up; the moment he did, she got angry.
Who doesn't know they need a big refrigerator?
If those debt collectors hadn't taken her refrigerator, why would she be using this small, broken, and dilapidated refrigerator?
Jiang Zhiyi slammed the refrigerator door shut and threw the things she was holding at him, yelling, "Get out of here!"
The anger she had been holding back these past few days finally erupted.
Vegetables, eggs, canned drinks, plates of food... she threw whatever she saw at him, pelting it all over him.
Jiang Shen was left covered in dirt and bruises after being hit by her.
His clothes were covered in sticky liquid and bits of vegetable leaves, and his face was bruised in several places.
"Get out of here!" she said impatiently. "Don't get in my way."
Jiang Shen stood motionless in place.
Jiang Zhiyi didn't want to touch him either; he was filthy. She picked up a broom and chased him out.
After kicking the person out, she immediately closed the door.
Not long after, Jiang Zhiyi turned off the light and went to sleep.
Jiang Shen was still standing outside, his back looking forlorn, and it was unclear what he was thinking.
