Chapter 361 The protective and devoted woman VS The soft-hearted man who harbors a grudge 19

late at night.

The two hugged each other.

Jiang Zhiyi was looking at her phone, trying to search for the bracelet, but she couldn't find any information.

Fu Chengyan closed his eyes and rested for a while.

"Aren't you sleepy yet? Weren't you just crying and begging to go to sleep?"

"I'll go to sleep later." She stared intently at her phone.

He buried his face in her neck and said, "Sing me a song."

"I won't sing." Jiang Zhiyi tried to turn over and ignore him.

He knew that she was tone-deaf. Occasionally, when she was in a good mood, she could hum a tune, but she rarely sang for anyone.

She simply doesn't have that artistic talent; her younger siblings, who are much younger than her, sing better than she does.

“I don’t mind that you…” He hugged her and kissed her. “Sing a couple of lines, I want to hear it.”

"I won't sing," she refused again.

“If you’re not going to sing, then keep going…” He put her phone aside and started kissing her again.

"You don't want to... I'll sing, I'll sing, okay..." Jiang Zhiyi blocked him with her hand.

She racked her brains trying to recall any songs that wouldn't be easy to sing off-key, and after thinking it over, she decided to sing him a happy birthday song.

"Is this how you're going to brush me off?"

She slapped him across the mouth, her tone impatient: "You said you'd sing whatever you wanted, take it or leave it. I'm going to sleep."

She huddled under the covers, preparing to rest quietly.

Seeing that she was really going to sleep, Fu Chengyan didn't disturb her anymore.

About an hour later, Fu Chengyan had fallen asleep, but Jiang Zhiyi woke up because she was a little hungry.

She didn't eat much at the dinner she had with her younger siblings that night because of what happened afterward. And now, after he had been bothering her for so long, she was really starving.

Jiang Zhiyi was about to go downstairs to find something to eat, but before she left, she saw Fu Chengyan sleeping so soundly, and she had a wicked idea to wake him up.

She climbed on top of him and slapped his face hard. "I'm hungry...Are you hungry?"

"Hmm?" He wasn't fully awake. "Hungry?"

Jiang Zhiyi had a triumphant smile on her face, and her words became much more interesting. "Yes, there's a little person in my belly with his mouth wide open. He's hungry and wants to eat."

She had said the same thing to Jiang Zhiliu during the day. Jiang Zhiliu was only in kindergarten and was quite mischievous. She told him to eat well, eat more vegetables and not be picky, because the little person in her belly would be smiling. If he was naughty, the little person would bite a big hole in her belly.

She suddenly remembered these things and blurted them out on a whim. She just wanted to express that she wanted to eat something, but she didn't realize that her words might be ambiguous.

However, Fu Chengyan clearly didn't understand her original meaning. Hearing her words, his drowsiness instantly vanished. "What 'villain'?"

He opened his eyes and looked at her. "Pregnant?"

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Jiang Zhiyi thought he was completely confused from sleep. "How could I be pregnant... I meant I'm hungry."

Fu Chengyan was silent for a moment, then said, "Eating so late is bad for your stomach. Go to sleep."

"If you're not going to eat, then I'll go by myself." Jiang Zhiyi got out of bed and pushed open the door to leave.

The room fell silent. Although Fu Chengyan continued to rest with his eyes closed, he was no longer so sleepy and was thinking about what had just happened.

Just as his thoughts were becoming increasingly chaotic, there was a loud "bang" downstairs, as if something had exploded.

He went downstairs to check, and the nannies were also woken up and came out of their rooms.

Jiang Zhiyi stood at the kitchen doorway, looking unusually flustered. Why were so many people suddenly appearing...?

She had only thought about grabbing a quick bite herself and hadn't bothered to call the nanny, but now she'd woken up everyone in the house.

"Are you hurt?" Fu Chengyan helped her up and checked her over.

"I'm fine, but there seems to be something wrong with that pot..." She pointed to the kitchen, seemingly preparing to go in.

He interrupted her directly, "Let the nanny handle it, don't make things worse."

"Oh..." Jiang Zhiyi obediently let him lead her towards the sofa.

Sitting on the sofa, she wasn't still and snuggled into his arms. "I just want to eat some noodles, I'm so hungry. Are you hungry too?"

Fu Chengyan used her words to retort, "I don't have any big-mouthed little people in my belly."

Jiang Zhiyi got a little angry and pushed him aside, ignoring him.

Fu Chengyan glanced at her, then picked her up and said, "Eat less later, or you won't be able to sleep."

He thought to himself: If she's so troublesome, and we really have a child who follows her personality, with one big and one small staying at home, we'll probably cause a huge commotion sooner or later.
