Chapter 56: Crazy Talk

Chapter 56: Crazy Talk

I looked through the list carefully and found that there were more than six people on duty.

Almost all of the original group have died or become alienated.

A few were lucky enough to live until retirement, but two of them died when the red fog descended.

As for the remaining few who did not die, the Investigation Bureau conducted mental cleansing on them, erased their relevant memories, and placed them in various shelters. Even if they were found, it is estimated that nothing could be learned from them.

After eliminating these people, my eyes fixed on the names in the fifth and last row of the list.

These two people, one is crazy and the other is missing.

The missing person was 80% similar to the nurse who placed the doll next to my pillow in my dream.

Although it was a dream, the nurse was wearing a mask, and the photo on the list was of a man, so I couldn't see it clearly in my dream vision at the time.

Even though the genders don't match, I have a hunch that this investigator and the nurse in my dream are the same person!

My eyes shifted back to the other investigator's name, and I pondered.

It seems that I have to go meet this crazy investigator.

I stood up and left the room, heading straight to the captain's office.

"Captain, I would like to request visiting privileges in the special ward area."

After hearing what I said, the captain raised his head from the pile of documents and looked at me with some confusion:

"Did you find anything?"

I shook my head and said, "Not yet, but I'd like to ask the investigator who was previously in charge of guarding 005 to see if he can get any clues."

Upon hearing this, the captain sighed and said, "What you can think of, we also thought of it back then. Unfortunately, he was not mentally clear, so we didn't get any useful information from him, even through hypnosis."

Hearing him say that, my heart instantly sank, but I still asked without giving up: "Then... I'll give it one last try."

The captain pondered for a second and nodded. "That's fine. You've been into the mirror world and have had close contact with the Apocalypse Cult. Maybe you can really get something out of them."

After saying that, he stood up and motioned for me to follow him.

The captain took me all the way to the special ward area in the investigation bureau, which is specially used to care for investigators who have gone crazy.

Then I found the ward administrator and filled out an application form. The administrator then handed me the key and said:

"You have half an hour for visiting."

I nodded, half an hour should be enough.

Walking through the corridor of the ward area, in front of a closed door.

When I opened the door, a pungent smell of medicine hit me in the face, making me frown.

When I walked into the ward, I saw a figure curled up in the corner, his hands tightly hugging his knees, his body trembling slightly.

The man didn't seem to notice my presence. He huddled there alone, muttering something.

I couldn't hear him clearly, so I had to move closer to try to hear what he was mumbling.

However, as I approached, he suddenly raised his head and lunged towards me. His sudden reaction startled me.

However, just when he was an inch in front of me, he suddenly fell to the ground, and I noticed that his ankles were tied with iron chains and soft leather buckles.

The man looked at me and screamed like a madman:

"Zhou Tian...Zhou Tian is approaching! I will die, and you will die too! Everyone will die!"

Sunday?

I looked at the person in front of me in surprise and doubt, grabbed his wrist and asked, "What is Zhoutian!"

The investigator paused when he saw me, then smiled foolishly: "Hey... hey hey... the new god... the new god is about to appear..."

This guy's words are incoherent, and I guess I won't get anything out of him no matter how much I ask him. But the crazy things he said do concern me a little.

I silently memorized the words he said, such as "Zhou Tian" and "New God", then left the special ward area and returned to the archives room.

I turned on the computer and started typing in keywords to search, but there was no information about "Zhou Tian" at all, and there was no information about the so-called new god either.

I sat in front of the screen, lost in thought. The reason I couldn't find any information wasn't because I didn't have enough authority, but because none of the bureau's databases currently had any records of "Zhou Tian."

I subconsciously miss the Morse code that appeared from time to time, maybe I could get some clues from it.

However, I cannot summon it on my own, and I passively receive information every time.

Shaking my head, I adjusted my mindset and said to myself, "Don't rely too much on Morse code."

After all, I still don’t know the origin of this Morse code. Although it is harmless to me so far, what if it appears again one day?

After sitting in front of the screen and letting my mind wander for a while, I subconsciously glanced at the time. It was time to go find Shu Yu.

I got up and went to the infirmary. Shu Yu was treating other wounded people inside. When she saw me come in, she greeted me with a smile.

"Wait a moment."

I nodded and found a chair to sit down.

After a while, Shu Yu finished his work, checked my basic body data, and started to do relevant spiritual cleansing for me.

The Investigation Bureau has specialized equipment for simple purification, so there is no need to hire team members from specialized fields.

Shu Yu injected me with a tube of liquid and explained to me:

"This is a sedative. Your mind might feel a little confused, but it's a normal reaction. It won't hurt."

After saying that, she put helmets with wires connected one by one on my head and started operating the instrument.

The moment the current was connected, my thoughts became confused, but as she said, the whole process was not painful. It was just like some soothing images were stuffed into my mind, gradually displacing some of the previous twisted and complicated thoughts.

After about ten minutes, Shu Yu turned off the power and stood in front of me.

I looked at her blankly, unable to react for a moment. This was a normal reaction after purification. It was not until a minute later that I slowly recovered from the brain fog.

"How do you feel?" Shu Yu bent down slightly and moved closer to me, observing my condition.

"It's okay, I just felt a little dizzy just now, but I'm much better now." I stood up and said.

After thanking Shu Yu, I left the infirmary, sent a message to Song Nanxing, and went straight back to the room.

I changed my Bureau of Investigation uniform and the badge on my chest, and only took a universal gas mask and the Miao Dao, and then packed a large amount of supplies in my backpack.

At the same time, he put away the commonly used pager, replaced it with a communicator that was easier to hide, and went to the abandoned factory on the ground to wait for Song Nanxing.

After a while, Song Nanxing also came out. He also changed into the same raincoat and wore a simple gas mask.

We looked at each other and smiled. In such an environment, our outfits were like two fat sheep, and the only thing missing was the words "stupid, rich, come quickly" written on our foreheads.
