Chapter 42 Chapter 42 Out of Control
Director Zhao stared at the screen. As an actor, Jiang Yuxia's explosive power was rare. It wasn't the kind of heart-wrenching outburst. His outburst was silent, but full of lethality.
He smiled, pointed at the screen, and said to the assistant director as if to show off, "Well? Are you convinced?"
The assistant director nodded quickly. "It's much better than before. That's amazing."
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Director Zhao beaming with childlike joy, and he lamented the fate of his life. Jiang Yuxia was a good actress, but without Director Zhao, the subsequent version wouldn't have happened. So many dramas are a mess these days, with the actors being lambasted online, but a large portion of the responsibility should be shouldered by the director. The director has the final say on a play's direction, and even some actors don't have much say.
For Yu Jiang and Xia, Director Zhao is their mentor.
"Good, that's great, Xiao Jiang!" Director Zhao confirmed again, then smiled and said, "OK, your part is done."
"Rain" fell down Jiang Yuxia's head, and two drops of rain hung on his eyelashes. He looked up at Director Zhao in a daze, obviously he had not come out yet.
The staff hurriedly handed him a towel. Director Zhao had been with him for so many years, so he naturally understood his current condition and asked someone to pour him a cup of hot water.
It wasn't until the hot water slid down his throat that his eyes slowly returned to normal, and an indescribable feeling of fatigue surged up regardless of anything.
"call--"
Jiang Yuxia sat on a chair with a towel wrapped around her head and took a deep breath.
Director Zhao walked up to him and asked, "Tired, aren't you?"
Jiang Yuxia didn't say anything, but nodded with his head down. He was so tired that he didn't want to move a finger.
Director Zhao: "That's what experiential acting is like. It's very emotionally draining. You have a strong sense of empathy. After you're done, you must return to reality and not wallow in it. There's nothing else for you to do next. Go home and take a good shower and get some sleep."
Director Zhao hopes that Jiang Yuxia can achieve great success, but he is also afraid that if he immerses himself too much in the play, he will lose the ability to distinguish between reality and the play.
Jiang Yuxia looked up and smiled at Director Zhao, "Okay, thank you for your hard work, Director."
On the other side, Lu Fangbao stood aside, holding an orange cat. The cat also had a part in the scene, though he wasn't sure how it would be filmed. He had wanted to go up and talk to Jiang Yuxia, but seeing his expression, he didn't dare to interrupt. He just stood by and watched. So this is how actors act.
Sun Quan had just returned from doing something else. As soon as he came back, he saw Jiang Yuxia sitting in the corner like a poor little thing. The towel on his head blocked his expression, so he could not see clearly.
He trotted over to Jiang Yuxia, squatted down and asked him, "What's wrong with Xia Xia?"
Jiang Yuxia: "It's okay, I just finished filming, I'm done."
He paused and said, "Brother Sun, can you help me book a flight back home? I want the fastest one."
Sun Quan: "...The fastest? Don't you want to rest for a while before going back?"
Jiang Yuxia: "No."
He felt like a huge rock was pressing on his chest, making it difficult for him to breathe. His desire to see Zhou Boye reached its peak.
This is the only thought in my mind.
Sun Quan didn't quite understand what had just happened, but he responded readily, "Okay."
"One in the afternoon is the earliest. I still have time to go back and clean up and have dinner."
Jiang Yuxia lowered his eyes slightly and replied softly, "Okay."
Sun Quan: "Wait for me here."
As he spoke, he walked into the venue and asked what had just happened. After all, Jiang Yuxia seemed a little unwell, as if he had suffered some injustice. He didn't breathe a sigh of relief until he had found out, then smiled and thanked everyone.
"Thank you all for taking care of Xiao Jiang these past two days. We ordered milk tea for everyone..."
After greeting everyone, Jiang Yuxia and Sun Quan left the set.
After getting on the plane, Jiang Yuxia put on headphones and closed his eyes to rest. He felt so tired, not physically tired, but as if he had really experienced a life-and-death separation and was exhausted.
Fortunately, the two cities were not far from each other and it only took about two hours to get there. After leaving the airport, Sun Qun wanted to send him home, but Jiang Yuxia did not go back. He just asked him to help take the luggage away and took a taxi to Zhou Boye's company.
When they really arrived downstairs of the company, Jiang Yuxia stopped again. When it came to meeting people, he felt a little nervous.
When he finally calmed down and wanted to go inside, he saw people hurrying downstairs in the building and the staff in the building were working step by step. He suddenly wondered if Zhou Boye was very busy now. When he came to find him before, his phone never stopped ringing. Now he might be in a meeting or reading documents.
Apart from love, Zhou Boye has other things to do. He doesn't want to disturb him, but he also thinks it's okay to be willful occasionally?
His skin looked even whiter against the black mask. Jiang Yuxia looked up at the building. The windows were so densely packed that even if he knew Zhou Boye's floor, he couldn't tell which room it was.
He pushed down the baseball cap on his head and finally stepped into the building. He always thought a lot, perhaps because of the environment he grew up in, but how to say it, he felt that Zhou Boye would not think that he was disturbing him, and might even be quite happy.
As a human being, there is always someone with whom you can indulge yourself a little.
He has it too.
The road leading to the building's elevator was accessed. Because he was wrapped tightly, the security guard had been staring at him since he entered the door, and was very cautious. The lady at the front desk didn't seem to be the one he had seen before, so he had no choice but to sit on a chair in the lobby and call Zhou Boye.
Zhou Boye had just finished an international conference and was still thinking that Jiang Yuxia would be back tomorrow when his phone lit up.
Jiang Yuxia's usual cold voice came from the other end of the phone: "Zhou Boye, can you come pick me up? I'm on the first floor of your company."
The door to the president's office opened. The secretary not far away was stunned by Zhou Boye's hurried steps, and then asked Wei Zhuo, who had just looked up from the documents, "What happened?"
Wei Zhuo was also confused, looking at Zhou Boye's back, "I don't know either."
But he still stood up honestly and chased after him. Before he took two steps, he heard Zhou Boye say, "No need to follow me. I'm going to pick someone up."
Wei Zhuo stopped and asked, "Want to pick someone up?"
I didn't hear anyone was coming today? And who would Zhou Boye have to pick up personally?
Zhou Boye exited the elevator, and Jiang Yuxia looked up as if sensing something. He walked towards him, just like he had done a thousand times before, but...
He pursed his lips, suppressing his overwhelming emotions.
Zhou Boye saw him fully armed and wrapped up tightly, laughed, and asked, "Why are you back? Didn't you say you'd be back tomorrow?"
Jiang Yuxia didn't say anything. Zhou Boye thought he didn't want to speak in front of so many people, so he just took him inside.
With Zhou Boye's human-shaped ID card, the security guard didn't dare to stop him anymore.
The door to the president's office was closed, blocking all sight. Zhou Boye continued to speak, "You didn't even tell me you were coming back so I could pick you up at the airport. Are you tired from flying?"
As he spoke, he helped him take off his hat, revealing his eyes, with a hint of red at the corners of his eyes. His originally obsidian eyes had turned a little red.
Zhou Boye was stunned, and the smile on his face disappeared instantly. He reached out and stroked the corner of his eye, "What's wrong?"
Jiang Yuxia couldn't help it any longer, she took off her mask and rushed into his arms, hugging him tightly.
Before Zhou Boye could react, his tie was suddenly pulled down forcefully, and the next moment his lips were bitten. Jiang Yuxia half leaned in his arms, biting his lips lightly with her teeth, but her expression looked as if she had been wronged.
Zhou Boye's breathing became slightly heavier. He reached out and picked up the man, letting him sit on the desk. Jiang Yuxia glanced at him, slowly closed his eyes, and tacitly agreed to his action.
The teeth that were biting his lips were pried open, Jiang Yuxia loosened his tie, and his hands were held and pressed on the desk.
After an unknown amount of time, Jiang Yuxia opened his eyes. The corners of his eyes, which were already red, became even redder. Zhou Boye pecked him on the lips twice again. "Can you tell me what happened now?"
"It's okay, I just want to kiss you and be with you."
Jiang Yuxia put her arms around his neck again and pressed her face against his.
Zhou Boye was flattered. He had never seen Jiang Yuxia so clingy before. At the same time, he was worried that he was in a bad mood.
But he didn't ask any more questions, he just carried him to the sofa, and the two of them didn't say anything, just sat there quietly.
Perhaps it was the comfortable temperature, or perhaps it was the sense of security Zhou Boye gave him, but Jiang Yuxia's turbulent emotions slowly calmed down. After a while, his eyes half closed. As he dozed off, he suddenly thought of something and asked softly, "Am I disturbing you?"
Zhou Boye's chest vibrated slightly and he said something, but Jiang Yuxia seemed not to hear him and fell asleep.
Zhou Boye lowered his eyes and glanced at Jiang Yuxia who was sleeping in his arms. Her long eyelashes covered her eyes, and her lips were not as red as they were in those years, but with a hint of white. He bent down and kissed her on the face, then stood up and walked towards the lounge in the office.
After adjusting the air conditioner temperature, he closed the door and called Sun Quan.
It was already dark when Jiang Yuxia woke up. He looked at the somewhat unfamiliar environment in a daze for a few seconds before he remembered where he wanted to be.
The things he had done before when he was carried away by his emotions came back to his mind bit by bit. He paused, frowned a little embarrassedly, and the next moment he pulled the quilt up with an expressionless face, covering his head.
Let it perish.
When he finished packing and came out, Zhou Boye looked up from the computer and glanced at the clock. "It's seven o'clock. If you don't get up soon, I'll have to come and call you."
He stood up and poured him a glass of water. He was indeed a little thirsty after getting up, so he took the glass and drank two sips. Zhou Boye took the glass from him again and said, "Are you hungry? Let's go eat?"
Jiang Yuxia touched his stomach. He hadn't eaten much today, so he didn't feel hungry before. But after a nap, he felt hungry.
He nodded. "Okay."
When the two of them came out, not many people were in the company anymore. The driver had been waiting for a long time. Zhou Boye helped him put on his hat and walked out with him by the hand, not caring about other people's eyes. "There's a delicious private restaurant next door. There was originally a private restaurant in the west of the city that tasted even better, but we were worried you'd be hungry, so we're closer."
Jiang Yuxia was not particular about food, so he just said "OK" when he heard it.
After arriving at the place, Zhou Boye handed the menu to Jiang Yuxia and asked, "Is there anything you want to eat?"
Jiang Yuxia: "I want to eat crabs."
"Okay." Zhou Boye instructed the waiter and pointed to several dishes on the menu.
During the meal, Zhou Boye hardly ate anything. He just peeled two crabs for Jiang Yuxia and stopped after peeling two.
Jiang Yuxia didn't enjoy her meal to the fullest and glanced at the crabs. Zhou Boye smiled and said, "Like a child, but crabs are cold in nature, so you can't eat too much."
While saying this, he picked up a crab and started peeling it.
Jiang Yuxia's eyes curved slightly as they talked to Zhou Boye about some things that happened on the set.
As he was talking, Zhou Boye suddenly asked, "Youyou, have you ever thought about finishing college?"
