Chapter 104 Reconciliation

It seems he needs to think of a way to help his father; he also misses his mother a little.

Because none of the five people who came passed the interview, the company still hasn't found a designer. When asked by the HR manager, she gave reasons for not meeting the requirements. Although it was regrettable, the manager still chose to support her decision.

She receives many resumes every day, but after the first round of screening, about a third of them are eliminated, and by the time she gets to her, there are practically no applicants left.

"All the resumes are here." The secretary placed all the submitted resumes on her desk. It took her three trips to move them all over, and the spacious desk immediately became crowded, with a few even falling to the floor.

She bent down to pick it up, then asked about the progress of the jewelry. Once she confirmed that it would be completed by tomorrow, she asked her secretary to pick it up in person. Before leaving, the secretary glanced at the resumes piled up on the table.

"No matter how busy the boss is, he still needs to take care of his health."

The caring words warmed Gu Anran's heart, but she was still buried in the resumes and didn't even have time to eat lunch. She needed to sift through a large number of resumes to find suitable candidates, but by the afternoon she still couldn't find a suitable candidate.

"Although we've received a lot of resumes, very few people actually have their own ideas, and some are just borrowing other people's concepts." The HR manager stood at the table reporting on the progress, and his face didn't look too good.

"If the design department is short-staffed, we'll get help from other departments, and their salaries will be calculated separately."

The HR department has been working much busier lately, and the manager is finding it difficult to keep up. Now, with the help of other departments, efficiency will be much higher.

The company went from having her work overtime alone to having everyone work overtime together, but even so, they only managed to find one or two people here and there, and ultimately, none of them were able to join the company because they were not suitable.

Two hours had passed since the end of the workday, and still no one was willing to leave. She asked her secretary to tell them to leave and invite them to dinner, while she continued looking at resumes.

Before she knew it, it had gotten dark and the moon had risen in the sky. She stretched her aching muscles and bones. After a busy day, she still hadn't found the designer. Her nose stung, and she felt a little sad.

Without Ye Lichuan's help, is she really unable to find a designer? Is she overestimating herself?

The night was deep, and she was still sitting at her desk looking at resumes when her phone, which was lying beside her, suddenly vibrated a few times, drawing her attention to it.

"Mom, I miss you."

When are you coming back?

"I'll stay home and wait for you to come back."

Seeing the message from her son, she realized that she had been busy with work and hadn't spent much time with him lately. She couldn't let her son suffer from a lack of maternal love, especially since she was having problems at work.

After replying to the message, she packed up the documents and went home. Just as she opened the office door, a bright red rose appeared and blocked her way.

Ye Lichuan frowned as he looked at her tired expression. "You're always so careless about your health. If you do this again, I'll lock you up at home."

After her initial surprise, Gu Anran snorted and walked back to her office, feigning indifference as she said, "What are you doing here? Lecturing me?"

“It was wrong of me to bring the princess home. I should have let you grow on your own instead of interfering in your career under the guise of concern.” Realizing that his words were too cold, he softened his voice, closed the door as he spoke, walked up to her, knelt on one knee, and handed her the flowers. Gu Anran glanced at the delicate petals, then looked at his apologetic face.

"Baby, please forgive me."

Gu Anran blushed at his affectionate address. After hesitating for a moment, she accepted the flowers, but kept a cold face and refused to look at him. Knowing that she had forgiven him, he stepped forward and hugged her. Gu Anran struggled a couple of times but then stopped moving.

"I promise I won't interfere with your career anymore. Xiaotian is still waiting for you at home. Come back with me." His deep voice was magnetic, and a faint fragrance enveloped her.

"It's good that you know you were wrong. Let's go." She stepped out of his arms, raised her head arrogantly, and walked forward after saying this.

She had originally wanted to bring Xiaotian a small gift, but all the shopping malls around were closed, and she felt even more guilty. She drove through the deserted streets and headed home.

When she got home, Gu Anran quickly went inside and felt guilty when she saw her son dozing off on the sofa. She picked him up gently. Xiao Tian was already five years old and a head taller than his peers, so it was a bit difficult for her to carry him.

Ye Lichuan tried to take Xiaotian from her, but she refused. She put her son on the bed while panting. Gu Xiaotian, still half asleep, turned on the light and called out, "Mom, you're back."

"Sweetie, Mommy's back late. Go to sleep, I'll stay with you." She gently patted Xiaotian's back.

Exhausted, Gu Xiaotian fell asleep again, her breathing steady. She quietly left the bedroom and returned to her room, where the bouquet of roses was already in a vase, carrying a faint fragrance.

Looking at the brightly colored roses, a flash of inspiration struck her. She quickly went to the study, took out a piece of paper, and began to draw. Ye Lichuan came out after taking a shower and didn't see her. He sighed and walked to the study, and sure enough, he saw her drawing.

"It's getting late, go to sleep." He walked over, forcefully took her pen, and carried her back to her room.

Under Ye Lichuan's watchful eye, she had no chance to get up and continue drawing. Instead, she curled up in his arms and fell asleep. Ye Lichuan, who had been awake the whole time, lowered his head and kissed her forehead before wrapping his arms around her and drifting off to sleep as well.

Gu Anran woke up to the first rays of sunlight and slowly crawled out of his arms. She ran into the study to continue designing. Fortunately, the inspiration from last night was still there, and she wrote with great ease. She finished the design draft in half an hour.

She rushed to the company without having time to make breakfast for the two of them, and locked herself in her office to start making the food.

Ye Lichuan slowly woke up at this moment. There was no one in his arms, and the spot next to him was cold. His feelings were hard to describe, but he still got up and went to the room to call Gu Xiaotian.

"Why is it you? Where's Mom?" Gu Xiaotian rubbed his eyes and realized it was his father calling him, which made him a little annoyed.

"She had already gone to work when I got up, and I didn't see her." Ye Lichuan was also very helpless about this, feeling both heartache and anger, but there was nothing he could do about it.

Gu Xiaotian reluctantly got up, and the father and son sat in the dining room to eat breakfast. Halfway through the meal, he remembered what happened yesterday.

He looked at his father expectantly, "Has Mom forgiven you?" This was the method he had come up with, and if it succeeded, his father would thank him.

Ye Lichuan nodded and added some milk to his cup. Although it was successful, he really couldn't do anything about how she neglected her health when she was busy. However, as the man behind her, he was willing to support her unconditionally.
