With the night breeze blowing through the car window, the smell of alcohol had dissipated considerably, and Gu Anran only belatedly realized how dangerous the situation had just been.
Fortunately, Ye Lichuan arrived in time, otherwise she doesn't know what would have happened.
Ye Lichuan didn't seem to be in a good mood either, with a cold face, and he didn't say a word the whole way.

He turned to look at Gu Anran, his bright eyes shining like stars in the darkness.
"What if I wasn't here with you today? What if I had arrived any later? What if something had happened to you? I don't know what I would have done."
He was somewhat agitated, but he restrained himself the whole way.
Just as he couldn't imagine life without Gu Anran, he couldn't bear the thought of not being able to protect her.
It's hard to say whether something like this will happen again in the future.
Gu Anran gently placed her hand on the back of his hand and said, "Don't worry, I will definitely pay attention to safety in the future and won't make you worry anymore. Today, I was just a little careless because you were by my side."
When Ye Lichuan heard her say that, he looked at her earnestly and said, "I don't want to blame you. Promise me that you won't drink alone outside anymore, and you won't go to dangerous places."
"Okay, I'll agree to anything you say!" Gu Anran readily agreed to everything he asked in order to make him happy.
More than those things, she cared about what Ye Lichuan thought.
The two opened up to each other and got out of the car together.
When she got home, she saw Gu Xiaotian sitting alone on the sofa. Gu Anran thought he was watching TV, but the TV screen was actually black.
The little guy just sits there all by himself?
Her mother's intuition told her that something was amiss, and that Xiaotian was probably troubled by something.
Ye Lichuan glanced at Gu Anran with a puzzled look. She raised her hand to signal him not to speak, and then sat down next to Xiao Tian in her slippers, only to find that his face was full of sadness.
Could it be that she was bullied at school?
"Mom, you're back." Gu Xiaotian said weakly, getting up and walking towards the balcony.
The small figure stood on the edge of the balcony, looking rather lonely.
Gu Anran followed him onto the balcony and asked softly, "Xiaotian, what's wrong? Is there something on your mind that you want to tell your mother?"
"Mom, I'm fine. Just let me stay here by myself for a while." Gu Xiaotian simply pushed Gu Anran away, not wanting her to stay with him.
As children grow older, they inevitably have their own worries. If parents pry too much, it will actually hinder the protection of their children's privacy.
Gu Anran reached out and ruffled his hair, saying gently, "Since you don't want to talk about it, then Mom won't ask. But you must remember that Mom will always love you, and no matter what happens to you, Mom will always be there for you."
Gu Xiaotian looked up at Gu Anran and nodded, his soft, sweet face unusually serious.
As she left the balcony, Gu Anran closed the glass door behind her, giving Xiaotian a completely private space.
Ye Lichuan watched all of this from the living room the whole time, his worry evident in his eyes.
When Gu Anran came out, he mouthed what had happened, but Gu Anran just shrugged helplessly.
She didn't know what had happened.
However, if Xiaotian was really bullied at school, she would never tolerate it and would definitely seek justice for him.
Ye Lichuan said he was very tired tonight and told Gu Anran to get some rest.
However, Gu Anran couldn't let go of her work and secretly slipped into the study while Ye Lichuan went to take a shower.
Ye Lichuan came out of the bathroom and saw that the bedroom light was on, but the room was empty. Suddenly, he thought of a place and went straight to the study.
In the dark study, only the computer screen on the desk in front of the floor-to-ceiling window provided a faint light.
Wearing thick-rimmed glasses, Gu Anran was collecting information on models while making notes in her notebook.
Ye Lichuan tiptoed over, picked up the blanket from the single sofa, and gently covered her shoulders.
Someone suddenly appeared behind her, startling Gu Anran. She turned around and saw Ye Lichuan. Like a child caught doing something wrong, she gave a flustered, dry laugh.
"I'm not that sleepy, I'll just turn on the computer for a quick look and then go to sleep soon," Gu Anran explained dryly.
Actually, Ye Lichuan knew without her explanation that she was just too responsible and couldn't put her work down.
Ye Lichuan glanced at the search results on the computer screen; it turned out they were looking for models.
It seems she's still worried about finding a model.
Ye Lichuan coughed lightly, put his arm around her shoulder and said, "Actually, I wanted to give you a surprise. I've already chosen the final model for you, and I guarantee it will be someone you'll be satisfied with."
"Really! You've already chosen it for me?" Gu Anran turned around to look at him in surprise, her eyes lighting up.
Ye Lichuan had never mentioned it before, which made her think that she had no chance to be the final model, and she kept worrying about it.
Ye Lichuan was also quite helpless. He had worked hard to secure that model, and naturally he wanted to give Gu Anran a surprise. If it weren't for the fact that he was trying to get her to sleep, he wouldn't have revealed it so early.

He was being pulled and swayed by her arm. He grabbed her hand, closed the computer screen with his other hand, and pulled Gu Anran up from her seat.
Ye Lichuan gently tapped the tip of her nose with his finger, his tone indulgent: "What you need to do now is go to sleep."
Perhaps because the model issue was resolved, a huge weight was lifted from her heart, and Gu Anran suddenly felt sleepy. She yawned widely and stretched out her arm to Ye Lichuan.
Ye Lichuan understood and readily picked her up in his arms, carrying her towards the bedroom.
Ye Lichuan placed her on the bed, then pulled back the covers and lay down beside her.
"Thank you," Gu Anran whispered to him in the darkness, her head resting on her arm.
"There's no need for thanks between us." Ye Lichuan reached out and pulled her tightly into his arms.
The night was gentle, and soon I heard steady breathing beside me. Ye Lichuan leaned over and gently kissed her cheek.
