Chapter 118 Incident

She swallowed hard, growing increasingly panicked. Staring at the ticket-buying channel on the screen, she clicked in and bought a ticket. It was a seat towards the back; she needed to get up and see what was going on.

After a while, the official website suspended the ticket-grabbing channel and posted a message saying "As promised," and then no further news came out.

Gu Anran rushed to the venue without having time for breakfast in the morning. The fashion show was scheduled to start at 7 p.m., and entry and ticket checking would begin at 6 p.m. During this time, everyone was highly focused.

"Let's go through the event procedures again." Gu Anran rolled up the white paper in her hand and pointed to the stains on the catwalk. "Clean this up."

After finishing, she went backstage to discuss lighting issues with the lighting technician. Looking at the finished lighting, Gu Anran was still not satisfied and asked for adjustments. She had to make sure everything was perfect.

The clothing was also delivered to the site, all packed in boxes. Some of the wrinkled pieces needed to be ironed again. On stage, Zhao Yan led all the models through the procession once more.

This fashion show also invited industry professionals. Gu Anran took the list and started checking the seat numbers, only to find that a name on the seat was misspelled. She turned cold and called over the staff in charge of the guest seating.

"You can't believe you made such a simple mistake. Luckily, you noticed it in time and quickly went to redo it. Also, replace the water with the same kind."

The employee was also annoyed and immediately did as instructed. After checking and confirming that there was no damage to the chair, she went to the backstage area.

The makeup artists were already in place and greeted her. She responded to each of them before going to the models' dressing room. After obtaining their permission, she had them searched the area again to prevent anyone from maliciously placing things like thumbtacks that could harm the models.

Seeing the dark circles under her eyes and her tired look, the secretary couldn't help but advise, "Boss, why don't you go get some sleep? We'll keep an eye on things."

She shook her head. "We've been preparing for this day for so long. I'll rest after today." She then went to get her shoes. Seeing that she couldn't persuade her, the secretary had no choice but to give up.

The group ate boxed lunches for both lunch and dinner. After finishing their meals, it was already six o'clock, time for ticket inspection. Gu Anran stood on a high place and reminded the people guarding the shadows to pay attention to security.

By around 6:30, the venue was packed with people, which is enough to prove the popularity of this fashion show. The venue used steps from high to low to make it easier for people at the back to see the show.

Gu Anran saw several well-known domestic designers and quickly went to greet them. After chatting for a few words, they took their seats. The room was a bit noisy, and waves of heat came one after another, but fortunately, air conditioning was installed.

Time flew by and it was 6:58. Gu Anran picked up the walkie-talkie and said, "Lighting technician, please be aware."

At seven o'clock, the venue was plunged into darkness, with a small light shining in the center. The host stood in the center and said, "Welcome everyone to YR's fashion show. Will YR present a different style today? Let's look forward to it."

The lights dimmed again, and the fashion show officially began. Liu Yao was the first to appear. After a period of training, her stage presence was stable, and there were no problems with the opening.

But then murmurs arose from the audience: "Do you think this looks like the trendy clothes we've been wearing lately?"

"It seems so, but what's going on?"

Although there were whispers below, they didn't affect the fashion show. Gu Anran was slightly relieved and didn't bother to enjoy the show with everyone, but kept an eye on her surroundings.

Lin Xinrou, sitting in the second-to-last row, looked at the models with a cold expression, showing no interest. She got up from her seat and went to the restroom.

Instead of asking the staff, she wandered around on her own, but the place was so big that she couldn't find it at all. Frustrated, Lin Xinrou followed the corridor to the last room.

There were no signs on it. She pushed open the door and realized it wasn't her. Just as she was about to back out, she found many ropes at her feet. She pulled up one of the ropes and followed it, only to discover that it was the rope of a large chandelier on the catwalk.

"This is truly a stroke of luck." She sneered twice, straightened up and looked around, discovering a large pair of scissors hidden in the shadows. She picked them up with both hands and walked to the rope. "Gu Anran, I don't believe you can survive this time."

After saying that, she used her strength to slowly cut the thick rope. The atmosphere in the room was lively, and no one realized that danger was about to strike.

"It's your turn, hurry up and go up."

The model nodded, and the lights instantly shone on her. She walked with confident strides, showing off the clothes to the crowd. Just then, a light above her head flickered and then fell down unexpectedly.

Blood splattered all over the ground. Gu Anran's face turned pale and her lips lost all color. She almost fainted because her hands were too weak. This scene reminded her of the child she had lost.

"Ah!" The audience fell silent for a moment, then stood up and started running towards the door.

"Stop the show! Audience, please don't panic, please follow the instructions of the security guards and evacuate in an orderly manner." She bit her tongue sharply to clear her mind and shouted in a trembling voice.

She handed the megaphone to a staff member and ran towards the runway. Midway, the heel of her high heel broke, but she didn't care and ran to the model's side.

The lights on the model had been removed, and several staff members were pressing on the bleeding area, but they still couldn't stop the bleeding.

When will the ambulance arrive?

"We'll be there soon." The staff member panicked, his voice trembling violently.

"Clear the safety passage, don't delay the rescue time." Her voice was hoarse, and her eyes were red.

The model was on the verge of losing consciousness, but she held her hand tightly. Her snow-white clothes were stained red. Gu Anran held back her tears and kept talking in her ear, telling her not to fall asleep.

"The doctor is here! Make way!"

A group of doctors rushed in carrying boxes and quickly stopped the bleeding, but the model fainted the next second. "Quick, she has no heartbeat, start chest compressions immediately!"

Gu Anran was taken aside. Tears streamed down her face as she watched the model receiving CPR, mumbling something incoherently. The doctor told her to calm down and not panic.

"Got it! Quickly, get him to the hospital!" a doctor shouted excitedly, and a glimmer of light returned to Gu Anran's gloomy eyes.

The model was placed on a stretcher and quickly carried into the ambulance. Gu Anran followed. The ambulance sped all the way to the hospital, where the doctor in charge checked her condition. "Quick! Get her to operating room number two for emergency treatment."

All the doctors and nurses pushed the mannequins toward the operating room. Gu Anran, who was following behind, ran to the door of the operating room and only saw the doctor's back. She curled up and stared blankly at the light that had been turned on.

She didn't know how much time had passed before the lights finally went out. She quickly stood up and looked at the doctor with pleading eyes.
