Chapter 133 Return

The small meeting lasted for two hours as everyone spoke freely. Gu Anran recorded all the good ideas and discussed the specific design plan with everyone.

Everyone was holding their breath, eager to take this opportunity to prove themselves. The atmosphere was intense, and everyone was fully engaged. Gu Anran, who was in the thick of it, was very happy. She enjoyed the feeling of working together with everyone and sharing the ups and downs.

A designer suddenly stood up and said, "We will definitely succeed. Even without compensation, I will dedicate myself to this design. As a designer, I hate it when people steal my work. This time, we will show the pirates how powerful the original is."

"That's right!"

His speech resonated with everyone and made them even more excited, eager to design and launch their work into the market right now. Seeing everyone's enthusiastic appearance, Gu Anran smiled and clapped his hands.

"How can we not reward our contributors to the company? I hereby promise that if the work sells very well, I will give everyone double the reward and treat everyone to a meal!"

The designers cheered again, and after the joyful laughter subsided, everyone officially got to work.

She called Richard aside to hear his thoughts on the theme. Richard suggested several good themes, but none of them were what she wanted. Last time it was flowers and love, so what should it be this time? She lowered her head in thought.

She wanted to create a series, and then respond after the work was released, which would both promote the product and suppress piracy, achieving the best of both worlds. However, the theme became difficult to define.

"Don't worry too much, we're all working together," Richard said, patting her shoulder reassuringly.

Gu Anran nodded. The more anxious she was, the less inspiration she had. It was better to relax and stay with everyone until the afternoon when she bought them coffee. Because she had other things to take care of at the company, she had to leave first.

As soon as she sat down in her office chair, her secretary brought her a huge pile of documents, all of which required her signature. Several of the contracts were from new business partners, offering very friendly prices, with most terms based on YR (Yen Rent).

"This contract?"

After glancing at the contract, the secretary cleared up her doubts, "This was negotiated by Director Ye, and all that's left is your signature."

As soon as she said it, Gu Anran understood. She must want to take this opportunity to get close to the Ye family and facilitate future cooperation. Why not take the money that's offered to her? She quickly signed her name and handed it to her secretary.

After working for a while, Gu Anran frowned as she looked at the mountain of documents piled up on the table. Ye's business was no less than YR's. During her break, Ye Lichuan was busy with both sides and must have been very tired. She had been too inconsiderate.

A sudden surge of longing welled up inside her, and she couldn't help but call Ye Lichuan. He answered quickly, "An Ran?"

Gu Anran didn't speak, and the person on the other end remained silent as well. After what seemed like an eternity, she slowly said, "Mr. Ye, thank you for your hard work."

Ye Lichuan paused for a moment, then chuckled softly, "With Mrs. Ye by my side, it's not tiring at all."

After hanging up the phone, Gu Anran felt full of energy and threw herself into her work. The documents on the table gradually decreased, and the sun outside began to set in the west, while the moon slowly rose, illuminating the darkening sky.

She got up to make a cup of coffee and realized that she had stayed up late tonight to sort out some company collaborations that she had fallen behind on and to keep up with them in real time. The aroma of coffee beans filled the office, and Gu Anran took one sip after another.

"What happened to it?"

When she picked up the cup again, she found it was empty. She tried to get up to make another cup, but a sharp pain shot through her abdomen, forcing her to bend over and almost lose her balance. She put the cup down on the table and slowly sat down to try and ease the pain.

Her phone, which was in the drawer, started vibrating. She took it out and saw it was Ye Lichuan. "Still working so late?"

"Aren't you the same?" She could still faintly hear the sound of typing on a keyboard.

"I'll come pick you up in another half hour."

Gu Anran was about to agree when a sharp pain shot through her stomach again, and a muffled groan reached Ye Lichuan's ears. He stopped what he was doing and anxiously asked her what was wrong.

Not wanting him to worry, Gu Anran said that her leg had hit the table, and it felt like someone was wringing her stomach like a rag. Large beads of sweat dripped down her face, and she felt increasingly dizzy. She hurriedly made an excuse to hang up the phone, and as soon as she put the phone on the table, everything went black and she fainted.

The lights in the CEO's office went out half an hour later.

Ye Lichuan drove to YR. He walked in without knocking and found Gu Anran lying on the table. Thinking she was sleepy, he quietly walked over and wanted to carry her home.

He sensed something was wrong the moment he touched her skin. How could she be sweating like this with the air conditioning on? He panicked when he saw Gu Anran's bloodless face.

"Anran, wake up, what's wrong?" He gently patted her face.

Amid his anxious calls, Gu Anran weakly opened her eyes and said feebly, "It's probably a stomach ailment acting up again."

Ye Lichuan was both angry and anxious. He carried her into the lounge and then went downstairs to buy medicine. Gu Anran was drowsy when she was fed the medicine and porridge. She took a nap and recovered a little. When she looked up, she saw Ye Lichuan's ugly face. She knew she was going to be scolded.

“I agree that you don’t work so that you can faint in the office, and being busy at work is not an excuse for not eating or taking care of your health.”

Gu Anran responded to every word he said with an innocent expression. In the end, Ye Lichuan was so angry that he laughed. He couldn't do anything about her.

"It was my fault. I will take better care of my health and eat properly from now on." Gu Anran made a sincere promise. Ye Lichuan was angry because she didn't eat properly. Since she made a promise, he gave her a way out.

Gu Anran had originally planned to spend an hour completing her work, but now she had wasted time and had to work overtime. She sat at her desk working while Ye Lichuan sat on the sofa having a video conference. The two did not disturb each other, and the atmosphere was harmonious.

Seeing that the matter was resolved, Gu Anran stretched and looked at Ye Lichuan. He was still working, and not wanting to disturb him, she scrolled back and forth on the computer and accidentally opened the monitoring system.

She scrolled through the mouse and closed the window, but then noticed that some people were still there. It was already late at night, and apart from the security guards, all the other employees had already gone home. Were there other employees working overtime like her?

"What are you doing?" Ye Lichuan walked over, put his arm around her shoulder, bent down and looked at the computer with her.

"I find it a bit strange. Although the number of drafts that the design department needs to archive is huge, Xiao Li and the others are very efficient. Why are they working overtime late at night?"

Just as Ye Lichuan was about to comfort her, he noticed something was wrong. He first furtively looked around, then looked up to check the security camera footage.
